Glossary
 Pre ure pipe
Pipe, connected to or to be connected to outlet.
 Hydraulic
The o-called hydraulic de cribe the part of a pump, which convert peed power to pre ure power.
 Product
A product identifie a pump or a pump aggregate, according to cope of upply.
 Pump
Pump with free haft end, without drive a embly and without electric motor, with or without pump coupling.

1. General
1.1 General Information
Thi in truction manual refer to WSCA-Pump tated on cover heet for the following ize : 500 & 600
It de cribe proper handling and u e during life cycle of pump/pump unit. Moreover thi in truction manual contain ba ic
afety-related information.
It i ab olutely nece ary for technical taff to read thi manual before tarting a embly, before in tallation and
commi ioning before any work done at pump/pump unit. The manual mu t be alway available at ite.
For more information, plea e, apply to manufacturer.

1.2 Fields of application
1.2.1 Intended u e
According to the material election for the delivery of pure or lightly turbid liquid , hot-water, lye , acid etc.
The pump are exclu ively to be u ed under the operating condition tipulated (including elected medium) in the order.
All Pump are te ted in our work according to our tandart te t chedule. For performance data tated in the order of
confirmation, tolerance to EN ISO 9906:2013-3 are valid, if nothing different i agreed.
The agreed operating condition are mentioned on order confirmation, delivery note or technical data heet.
In the ca e of no agreement tipulated in the order concerning the operating condition , the pump i con tructed for
application with pure, not aggre ive water with a temperature of approximately 20°C.

2.3 Intended use of the product

2.4 Illegal operation
Operating afety of upplied machine i guaranteed only for intended u e according to 1.2. Field of application in
operation manual. The limit value tated on name plate, data heet or order documentation mu t not be exceeded by no
mean .
2.5 Qualification and training of operating staff
The per onnel re pon ible for operation, maintenance, in pection and a embly mu t be adequately qualified.
Scope of re pon ibility and upervi ion of the per onnel mu t be exactly defined by the plant management.
If the per onnel doe not have the nece ary knowledge, it mu t be trained and in tructed, which may be performed by the
machine manufacturer or upplier on behalf of the plant management. Moreover, the plant management i to make ure
that the content of the operating manual are fully under tood by the per onnel. Per onnel without profe ional
competence or technical training are not at liberty to do work at the product!
2.6 Compliance with regulations pertaining to safety at work
When operating the pump, the afety in truction contained in thi manual, the relevant national accident prevention
regulation and any other ervice and afety in truction i ued by the plant management are to be ob erved.
2.7 Information to adopting protective measures
For the pha e of life of the pump / pump aggregate the following protective mea ure mu t be adopted:

2.8 Safety instructions relevant to operation
 If hot or cold machine component involve hazard , they mu t be guarded again t an accidental contact at ide.
 Guard for moving part (e.g. coupling) mu t not be removed from the machine while in operation.
 A touch guard, di mantled i.e. for maintenance work , mu t be a embled before re tarting of machine.
 Any leakage of hazardou (e.g. explo ive, toxic, hot) fluid (e.g. from the haft eal) mu t be drained away o a
to prevent any ri k that may occur to per on or the environment. Statutory regulation are to be complied with.
 Hazard re ulting from electricity are to be precluded ( ee, for example, the VDE Specification and the bye-
law of the local power upply utilitie ).
2.9 Safety notes for assem ly-, service- and maintenance works
The operator ha to en ure, that all a embly-, ervice- and maintenance work
are done by authorized and technical taff, which i thoroughly acquainted by reading up on in truction manual.
Work at the machine mu t be principally done only when power i down. The procedure for witching-off the machine a
de cribed in operation manual mu t be trictly ob erved. 6.5 Shut down
Pump or –aggregate , which pump liquid , which are hazardou to health, mu t be decontaminated.
Immediately after fini hing the work all afety- and protective device mu t be rein talled and/or activated. Operation

3. Transport, preservation, intermediate storage, reshipment and disposal
3.1 Safety instructions for transport and intermediate storage
Regarding tran port, the rule and regulation common in the tran portation bu ine , re pectively the regulation for
handling of fork carrier , crane etc. are to be ob erved

3.2.2 Unpacking
Already during unpacking of upplied product make ure that erial number tated on order confirmation i the ame a
tated on delivery note and name plate of. The hipment mu t be checked for completene . The good hould be
preferably unpacked on ite, othat unintended and unfore eeable contamination i avoided. Al o make ure, that the
product i not damaged during unpacking and that no part of packing material remain at the product. Packaging wa te
mu t be di po ed in a way that no hazard ari e for per onal (i.e. tumbling or any other hazard ) and environment

3.3 Preservation
3.3.1 Durability
In regular ca e, the pre ervation i for a period of time of approximately 3 month .
We normally u e pre ervation which i phy iologically afe. For any additional information, plea e, apply to manufacturer.
3.3.2 Continued pre ervation
For a longer period of intermediate torage the pre ervation ha to be checked and, if nece ary, upplemented by
commercial product , which do not affect the u ed material .E pecially the part , which are in contact with other part ,
mu t be protected again t corro ion othat it do not tick together. For more information, plea e, contact the manufacturer.
3.3.3 Removal of pre ervation
Normally the per ervation i wa hed-off during trial ervice of the pump/ plant. A removal i not nece ary.
3.4 Intermediate storage
Intermediate torage in an environment with high humidity and alterating temperature mu t be avoided.
Deviation mu t be cleared up with manufacturer. Conden ation water may attack metal part in contact (e.g. bearing )
and impact quality of lubricating grea e .In ca e of delivery with internal combu tion engine, make ure, that cooling
y tem and motor are protected from fro t damage.

3.5 Return consignment
Return drained pump, only!
If hazardou liquid were pumped, decontamination of pump i nece ary before returning it.
For return con ignment only u e pre ervation and tran port packing pre cribed by manufacturer.

3.6 Disposal
The operator i re pon ible for proper di po al of the product.
For proper di po al, the following procedure i helpful:
 Drain medium and, if nece ary, collect for eparate di po al. Decontaminate product, if nece ary.
 Di a emble pump/aggregate
 If liquid are pumped, which are hazardou for health and environment, clean contaminated part of
pump/aggregate
 Separate different material
 Proper di po al of different component according to local applicable regulation .

4. Specification of a product
4.1 General description
The Norm-Pump are a ingle tage, normal priming centrifugal pump with power a ignment and main mea urement to
EN733. The Norm-Pump are multiple u able and allow /enable to a reliable and co t-efficient pumping of a lot of
different liquid .
4.2 Information to the Product
The technical pecification and characteri tic of the product can be taken from the name plate of pump:

The performance pecification of the product can be al o learned from the data heet and the contract document , if
agreed before. The performance data of motor are tamped on it name plate.
4.3 Construction of the pump
4.3.1 Con truction

WSCA pump have a ingle flow, ingle- tage volute ca ing with double uction impeller

4.3.1.5 Driving
The pump are driven by electric motor, hydraulic motor or internal combu tion engine. The combu tion engine need
fre h air.

4.3.1.6 Ba e frame

4.4 Details on installation site
4.4.1 Space requirement for operation and maintenance
The pump aggregat mu t be in talled in a way that enable to exchange component or the complete unit. If the aggregate
i heavy, facilitie adapted to the weight are to be provided in order to afe hang-in upport of lifting device and other
auxiliarie . Provide appropriate corridor for the tran port.
4.4.2 Admi ible environmental condition
Pay attention to dry, fro t-proof, vibration free i tallation of the pump and pump aggregate . Ambient temperature below
5°C and higher than 40°C mu t be avoided. Variation are available on inquiry.
4.4.3 Underground, fundament, wall
Ba ement mu t be de igned o, that pump re pectively the complete pump aggregat can be built up in a afe way and
without tre e . Pay attention to the fact that no vibration are pa ed onto the pump or pump aggregate via fundament.

5. Installation- and assem ly instruction
5.1 Safety Instructions
The in tallation of machine and part of machine mu t be done by technical killed and qualified
taff, which obey the afety in truction , valid and tated in thi operation manual.

5.2 Check efore assem ly and installation
Before tarting with a embly work , immediately after receipt of good , check erial number and pump type of name plate
with the information in order confirmation and delivery note. Moreover a ight check in regard to tran port damage mu t
be done. The manufacturer mu t be notified immediately about tran port damage , to a e whether the product i fully
operational or not.
Make ure, that no packing material i in void of the pump/aggregate.
3.2.2 Unpacking

5.3.1 Alignment of coupling

5.7. Connection of energy upply
Coupling not upplied by the manufacturer are to be in talled and aligned according to the in truction of the re pective
manufacturer. Coupling upplied with the pump mu t be aligned a follow :
The di tance between both coupling part need to be
mea ured on all four (4) corner of the coupling.
All four mea urement point need to have the ame di tance
+/- 0.15 mm.
It need to be a ured, that the connected haft are in line to
each other.
The alignment need to be checked during in tallation and
al o after in tallation when rotated by 180 degree.

5.4 Pipe works
5.4.1 General
The pipe work mu t be ab orbed directly in front of the pump, mu t be a embled tre le to the pump and po ible
charge on connection mu t be ab orbed by uitable mea ure (e. g. with compen ator ,…) Pay attention to heavy
force , which may ari e at thermal expan ion and at filling up big tube . Pipework mu t be de igned a hort and traight
a po ible in order to avoid friction lo e . Make ure, that contamination of pump i avoided. Pipe mu t be laid in a way
that air cu hion during filling-up are avoided. Make ure that no flange ga ket project in pipe which reduce the cro
ection of pipe .
The pipework mu t be built in a way that enable di mantling of pump without draining of ve el or pipe .
To get correct data at ite, the pre ure mea urement hall be acc. to velocity mentioned in point
5.4.2 Dimen ioning of piping. Elbow , valve , taper piece etc. could after the pre ure mea urement point .
Therefore the e part hould not ot clo e at the pre ure mea urement point . Te t on circulation pump are carried out
according to DIN EN ISO 9906:2023-3. The arrangement for the flow mea ure y tem hould be according to the

5.4.2 Dimen ioning of piping
In order to minimize lo e due to friction in pipe , the flow velocity in the uction, re pectively feed pipe mu t not exceed
1.5 m/ and 2.5 m/ in pre ure line .

conduit manufacturer in uch a way that the pump can not uck in any air.

 Pre ure pipe
The pre ure pipe mu t be fitted with a gate valve and a non-return- valve.The gate valve render po ible to et a
pecial flow rate while water hammer in pipe at the occa ion of witching off the pump are avoided by mean of
the nonreturn valve. Moreover the non-return-valve i a afety device which allow di mantling the aggregate
without draining the pre ure line.
 Data of mea urement point
Te t on centrifugal pump are carried out according to DIN EN ISO 9906:2013-3. The velocity in the mea urement
pipe hould not be above the data mentioned at the beginning. Taper piece mu t be u ed for higher velocitie .
Elbow , valve , taper piece etc. hould be mounted behind the pre ure mea urement point . Therefore the e
part hould not be too clo e at the pre ure mea urement point .
To receive reliable mea urement data at the plant, a pre ure mea urement hould be
made, con idering the afore mentioned flow velocitie and the con truction according
to DIN EN ISO 9906:2013-3.
The arrangement for the flow mea ure y tem ha to be according to the in truction of the upplier.
5.4.3 Pre ure te t
Before mounting the piping to the pump, re ervoir , pipeline and connection mu t be
cleaned thoroughly, coured out and, if medium make it nece ary, blown through.
The conduit mu t be leak te ted without the pump. Otherwi e the pump may be damaged.The mounted pump i normally
te ted tatically under the 1.5-fold of the maximum pre ure of the delivered pump.

If the pump aggregate work outdoor (hazard by lightning) or in ca e of hazard by electricity charge during operation, an

6. Starting-up and shut-down
6.1 Details for initial starting

6.2 Preparing for operation
6.2.1 Bearing application
 Regarding lifetime lubricated bearing application , a continued lubrication i not nece ary.
 When u ing bearing appliance with a regrea ing device, en ure that the bearing are alway ufficiently lubricated
before commi ioning and before a re- tart of the machine. Make ure, that the bearing are not „over-grea ed“!

6.2.2 Filling / Venting
Pump and conduit are to be filled-up with the pumping medium and are to be vented at the highe t point. Check that there
i no pre ure in pump before venting of pump, to avoid injurie .

 Gland packing
Before tarting up, loo en the gland in order to cau e an increa ed leakage when the pump i et into
operation. The leakage i nece ary for the lubrication of the gland in the runnig-in pha e of the pump. A
too trong tightening of the gland packing cau e higher wear on the haft protecting leeve and po ibly
the damage of the gland packing cau ed due to overheat. After a running-in pha e of about 2-3 working
hour , the gland packing can be tighten carefully.
A permanent in ignificant leakage i nece ary for the lubrication of the gland packing.
If leakage ari e , the gland packing can be tightened only during operating by mean of the nut at the
gland.
In order to avoid tilting of the gland, it i nece ary to tighten al o the nut .
6.2.4 Electric connection

to be refilled in the ca e of lo e of liquid or rather be renewed in the ca e of an enrichment with the pumping medium.

Set over-current relay, monitoring device for ptc thermi tor to the admi ible value . The operating manual of the motor

6.3 Starting-up
6.3.1 Commi ioning
Before tarting with commi ioning, the operating manual mu t be completely tudied and under tood by the operator in
order to avoid any accident or damage. The commi ioning mu t be done a follow :
 Check all protecting device
 Check functioning of periphery, for example cooling y tem (if exi ting)

 Suction- and feed valve mu t be completely open
 The pre ure valve mu t be lightly open
 Pipe work and pump mu t be completely filled with medium and completely vented
 After tarting the pump, adju t the capacity via the pre ure valve. By no mean the capacity i to be adju tet by
mean of the uction valve. When adju ting the capacity, mu t be ob erved, that the pump never work in an
area, where the motor may be overloaded. Pay attention, that no longer operation of the pump take place with
very low flow (le than 10% of the maximum po ible rate of flow).
En ure that the pump doe not operate while the hut-off device are clo ed a during thi kind of operation high force
are acting onto the impeller and the bearing apparatu . The energy upplied by mean of the impeller i tran formed into
thermal energy and re ult in boiling of the pumping liquid a via the pumping medium no heat ab traction i performed.
Therefrom re ulting damage cau ed by cavitation or by the overload of bearing may occur within very hort time. In thi
ca e guaranty expire .
6.4 Instructions to operation of machine
6.4.1 Starting frequency
Supplied electric motor are performed for the duty cla S 1/permanent operation.
6.4.2 Operation with throttled gate valve (minimum rate of flow)
The minimum flow rate i to be et at approximately 20 % of the maximum po ible rate of flow.
6.4.3 Operation with clo ed gate valve
The operation with clo ed gate valve i inadmi ible - even for a very hort time. See 6.3.1. Commi ioning
6.4.4 Stand-by operation
Pump , which are operated tand-by, mu t be taken into operation at lea t once a week. The operating time mu t allow the
evenly warm up of the pump to regular operating temperature.

7.2.1 Motor with regrea ing
The quality and quantity of tuff lubricant for motor with regrea ing device ha to be taken from label on motor.
7.2.2 Oil lubrication bearing
At normal operation condition the oil mu t be changed after abt. 2000 working hour . For oil change al o con ider
6.2.1 bearing application . Before tarting up and oil change you have to fill the oil lubricated bearing with oil. The oil level
ha to be between the minimum and the maximum mark on the oil dip tick.
Lubricant:
Non-alloy mineral oil to DIN 51517 with code letter CL and a vi co ity of 20 – 30 mm²/ are normally ufficient.
Make ure, that oil with different qualitie are not being mixed up.
