Before you get started, we have provided a helpful space to jot down a
few important details:
This manual should be considered a permanent part of this attachment
and therefore should remain with it even if the attachment is
subsequently sold.
The manufacturer continually seeks advancements in its product design
and quality. Therefore, while this manual contains the most current
product information available at the time of printing, there may be minor
discrepancies between your attachment and this manual.

Safety Information
Before installation/maintenance, ensure tractor and attachment are
stationary with the hydraulic lift system in a neutral position, and the
ignition key removed. Read and understand this manual before
operating any machinery to avoid equipment damage. Failure to
follow all safety standards can result in severe injury or death.
1. Regularly check condition and service of your attachment.
2. Regularly check/tighten all bolts, nuts and screws.
3. Never consume alcohol/drugs while operating machinery.
4. This attachment is for use with compact tractors only, within the power
range specied, and at the recommended speed at all times.
5. Always keep the PTO output from the tractor at 540 rpm. Reduce the
speed when working on hillsides/rough terrain.
6. Only use for the indicated purpose. Do not use to transport personnel
or livestock.
7. Always wear protective gloves, ear and eye protection and tie back long
hair. Do not wear loose clothing.
8. Check the operating area is clear of debris that can cause damage.
9. Keep spectators at a safe distance.
10. Do not run the engine in an enclosed area.
11. Do not leave any machinery unattended while operating.
12. Do not touch moving parts.
13. Stop the engine immediately if excessive vibration occurs.
14. When travelling, keep the PTO turned o.
15. Ensure the engine is switched o before any maintenance. Be aware
components can be hot after operation.
16. Always repair/replace any defective parts.
17. Do not modify the attachment in any way as this may impair the
operation and overall safety.
18. Pay attention to any sharp/pointed parts when servicing.
19. Ensure all safety guards are in place and in good condition.
20. Keep all safety signs clean and legible. Replace missing/illegible signs.

Attachment Pre-use Checks
Upon receipt of your new attachment and again within the rst 4 hours of
use (the ‘shake in’ period), we recommend the following:
1. Check/tighten all bolts, nuts and screws (and those securing blades).
2. Check the tension of any belt(s), and adjust if required.
3. Apply grease to grease points if necessary.
4. Check engine oil level, top-up if required but do not overll.
Tractor Pre-use Checks
1. Check the attachment is properly attached to the tractor. Ensure
secure pins are used on the linkage mounting pins.
2. Add extra weights to the front of the tractor (or wheel weights) if
required.
3. Check the tractor PTO turns freely and the attachment’s PTO drive
shaft can extend easily. Apply grease to PTO drive shaft.
4. Check the chain of the PTO shaft is in good condition, and attach
chain to a secure point on the tractor.
5. Before installing the PTO shaft, the tractor and attachment should be
stationary, with the key removed from the ignition.
6. Install/secure all safety guards, doors and covers before operating.
7. Bystanders should leave the immediate area before connecting the
drive from the tractor.
Post-use Regular Checks
Safety precaution: Be aware components can be hot after operation.
Allow attachment to cool before performing checks.
1. Check blades, belts and wearing parts. Ensure they are not damaged
and blades are secure in their mounts. Repair or replace as required.
2. Clean the attachment, and check for/clear any entangled material
around any moving parts.
3. Check rotor and roller bearings, apply grease if required.

Installation
Before installation/maintenance, the tractor and attachment should
be stationary with the hydraulic lift system in a neutral position and
the ignition key removed.
You will need to refer to Components Diagram opposite on page 8 and
Installation Diagram 10 Steps on page 9. You will also require a second
person to assist with installation.
Step 1: Position your tractor on at ground and in line with your
attachment. Connect the lower link points on the attachment’s A frame (A)
to the tractor’s lower linkage arms.
Step 2: Attach the main support arm (B) to the tractor’s top link area using
the top link pin. The top point of the hole borer should x directly to the
top linkage point on the tractor. If you have a top linkage arm tted you
will need to remove this to access the mounting point.
Step 3: Connect the A frame (A) to the outer pivot hole (pivot hole furthest
from the tractor) under the main boom (B).
Step 4: Raise and lower the tractor’s linkage to check the range of
movement. Moving the pivot pin closer to the tractor will increase the
height the arm (B) will lift.
Step 5: Attach the gear box (C) [input PTO shaft facing the tractor] to the
arm (B) by aligning the holes and inserting the mounting pin.
Step 6: Check the length of the PTO drive shaft by separating the
telescopic shaft and attaching one section to the tractor PTO and the other
to the digger gear box. Hold both sections together and parallel. Lower the
main arm 1 so the gearbox input shaft is aligned to the PTO shaft. Ensure
the PTO shaft has a clearance of at least 150mm.
Repeat the process at the maximum lift height of the boom. The minimum
overlap must be 300mm when working and the driveline must be able to
travel at least 30mm.This operation will determine the correct operating
length of the drive shaft. The shaft may need to be cut to size.

Step 7: Connect the PTO drive shaft to the gear box (C) and the other end
to the tractor PTO. Check that it correctly meshes at both ends. Always cou-
ple the two ends of the driveline and check they are locked in place. Com-
pletely insert the sprung lock pins into the grooves in the PTO shaft on both
the tractor and attachment sides. If a shear bolt or slip clutch safety system
is used on the PTO shaft, this should be mounted on the implement end.
Steps 8 and 9: Connect the auger (D) to the output shaft of the gear box (C)
with the shear pins. Tighten the nuts securely.
Step 10: Raise and lower the linkage carefully to ensure sucient ground
clearance can be maintained. Adjust the tractor’s ‘sway chains’ or linkage
adjusters to prevent any sideways movement.

Operating Instructions
For compacted ground and denser soil types, operate the
attachment at a slower speed to achieve the best nish and to avoid
any damage to the attachment.
Lower the tractor lift arms until the blades are near the ground, without
touching the ground. Regulate the working depth using the height of the
tractor’s lower linkage arms. Then engage the PTO drive to the rated
speed (540 rpm).
Slowly lower the lift arms to the ground to allow the blades to gradually
cut into the soil (do not drop the machine suddenly to the ground). If you
nd the machine is struggling on the surface, then reduce the speed the
auger is being lowered. Then lift the auger out of the soil to release loose
soil, and then lower again, repeat this step as many times as necessary.
Never run the PTO or attachment when the tractor is in motion.
Do not reverse with the attachment unless this is strictly necessary. If
unavoidable rst disengage the PTO and ensure the immediate area is
clear.
Never lift the attachment more than 25cm from the ground with the PTO
driveline engaged, because this can damage the driveline.
