The device is intended to measure temperature in the adult, children and baby populations.
This device is not suitable for children born before term. Withings Thermo (SCT01) is intended
for the intermittent monitoring of human body temperature at home.
Note to Canadian users
Health Canada does not recommend using
non-contact infrared thermometers on
children under 2 years of age. For older
children, Health Canada recommends that
infrared thermometers should not be used
to manage important health concerns.

Supported devices & Minimum requirements
In order to use your Thermometer, you need an iOS (14.0 or higher) or Android (8.0 and higher) device to install it. Thereafter, the product
can be used without your mobile device on you, thanks to the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth®. For Bluetooth connection, you will need your phone to
synchronize your results to see them in the Withings Application.
Precautions before use
- The device and the patient should stay in the same ambient temperature room for 10 minutes prior to taking a measurement.
- Infants’ body temperature might vary more than adults’. Avoid taking measurements on babies after nursing or while they are crying.
It is recommended to take measurements on children when they are calm.
- Do not take measurements over irritated skin or scars.
- For children under 3 months, perform 3 measurements in a row. If the 3 measurements are dierent, always take the highest one.
- If the patient has taken a bath or exercised, please wait for 15 minutes before taking a measurement.
- If the thermometer was stored in a cool or a warm room, wait 15 minutes before taking a measurement.
- When taking multiple measurements, wait one minute between each one
- Move hair out of the way and dry any sweat when taking a measurement
Important safety information
Self-diagnosis of measurement results and self-treatment are dangerous. Pregnant women should consult a doctor before using the thermom-
eter. Please consult your doctor when there is a temperature increase on:
- Neonates and babies under 3 months
- Patients over 60 year old
- Immunocompromised patients
- Bedridden patients
- Transplant patients
Please consult your doctor if other symptoms (vomiting, diarrhea, pain, shivering, sti neck....) occur even if there is no fever. This device is a
precision thermometer measuring equipment liable to be understood by lay users but it still should be handled with care.

Warnings & safety notice
-Self-diagnosis and self-treatment can be dangerous. Do not interpret or take clinical action solely based on the assessment result without consultation
of a qualified healthcare professional.
- Do not use the device on premature babies (babies born before term).
- Keep the device out of the reach of children and pets.
- Do not leave the thermometer unattended with infants or persons who cannot express their consent.
- This device is for personal use at home only.
- The sensor lens is fragile: do not touch it with your fingers
- Do not expose the device to humidity or water. In case the unit is wet, wait until it is dry.
- To clean the lens, use a soft dry cloth to wipe it or a cotton bud. For cleaning instructions, please see the cleaning section of this manual.
- Never try to disassemble or repair the product.
- The device does not provide alarms
- Misuse of the device can cause injury. Do not use the thermometer if it is damaged. Use of a damaged device could cause injury or equipment failure.
- Do not try to repair or modify this equipment yourself. No service or repairs should be performed on the device other than the maintenance listed in
the device’s instructions for use.
- Do not use the thermometer for any purpose other than measuring temperature.
- Do not operate when the infrared optical lens is found to be soiled or damaged.
- Do not shake the unit violently.
- Do not use the device after a strong shock, such as dropping the unit on the floor.
- Portable RF communications equipment (including peripherals such as antenna cables and external antennas) should be used no closer than 30 cm
(12 inches) to any part of the device, including cables specified by the manufacturer. Otherwise, degradation of the performance of this equipment
could result.
- Use of this equipment adjacent to or stacked with other equipment should be avoided because it could result in improper operation. If such use is
necessary, this equipment and the other equipment should be observed to verify that they are operating normally.
- Do not interconnect this equipment with other equipment not described in the instructions for use. Follow operational and storage conditions
indicated in this user manual. Otherwise, measurement accuracy may be impacted. The user is an intended operator. Measurements can be aected by
extreme temperatures, humidity, & altitude. Do not use accessories, detachable parts, or materials not described in the product guide. Use of parts and
components other than those specified or provided by Withings could result in increased electromagnetic emissions or decreased electromagnetic
immunity of this equipment and result in improper operation.
- Exposing the device to prolonged lint, dust or sunlight might reduce its life or damage it. A damaged sensor may lead to incorrect measurements.

How to take a measurement
1. Remove the green protective
cap.
4. Thermo will vibrate twice
when the measurement is
complete. The temperature is
displayed on the device.
The unit is either in °F or °C.
You can change this unit in the
Withings app settings.
2. Press the button to turn the
thermometer on.
5. To assign the temperature
to a user, scroll through names
on the touch-sensitive zone (1).
Press the button to assign the
reading (2).
3. Start from the middle of the
forehead, slowly scan straight
across to the hairline, up to 1cm
away from the skin.
6. A colored LED indicates
the fever level according to
the user’s age.
LED Colors meaning:
No fever
Mild fever
High fever

Understanding the results
Troubleshooting
If one of the following problems occurs while you are using Withings Thermo, refer to this section to help solve the problem. If the problem
persists, please contact our customer service. For any enquiry, the serial number must be provided. It can be found inside the battery compart-
ment. It is made of 12 characters in groups of 2, each group separated by a colon, for instance XX:YY:XX:YY:XX.
Blank display. The device does not turn on.
“Low battery icon”

The temperature too rather high
1. Remove the AAA alkaline batteries and wait one minute.
2. Then reinstall the AAA alkaline cells back ensuring they are in the correct polarity.
3. Replace the AAA alkaline cells with new ones.
Replace the AAA alkaline cells.
The temperature is outside the range. i.e lower than 35°C (95°F) or higher than 43.2°C (109.76°F).
Take a new temperature measurement, referring to the user manual. If the issue persists, contact
customer support.
The unit has been stored in a cold room. Leave the device in the room where the patient is for 30
minutes prior to the next measurement

After use
The temperature seems too low
Bluetooth does not seem to work
Wi-Fi does not seem to work
The skin has sweat on it or there is hair over the skin. Ensure that there is no hair in front of the
sensor. Clean the skin with a dry cloth and wait for 5 minutes prior to taking a measurement. The
patient has been in a cold room. Wait until the patient is warmer before taking a measurement.
Measurement was not taken on the temple. Please refer to the user manual to place the sensor on
the correct location.
Smartphone is out of range. Please bring your smartphone closer to your device. Smartphone’s
Bluetooth is OFF. Please switch your smartphone’s Bluetooth ON.
Device is out of range from the Wi-Fi source. Please get your smartphone and device closer to
your Wi-Fi source.
Cleaning:
Do not use an alcohol-based agent or solvent to clean the device.
Clean the device with a soft and dry cloth.
Do not submerge the device or any of the components in water.
Ensure that no liquid enters the interior of the thermometer.
Do not dismantle the device or try to repair it yourself.
After cleaning, wait for 10 minutes before taking a temperature measurement.
Storage:
- Store the device and the components in a clean and safe location.
- Do not store the device in a wet, humid or dusty location.
If storage conditions are dierent from the usage conditions indicated in this document, please wait 30 minutes before taking a measure-
ment. While stored, the device should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
- Ensure that you place the protective cap on the sensor after each use to prevent damage to the sensor.
- If you are not using the device for an extended period, remove the alkaline batteries from the device.
