Introducon
1 Introducon
1.1 Foreword
This user´s manual provides users and helpers with essenal informaon about the design, funcons, use and
maintenance of the Wolturnus Amasis and Skking Chair. The manual contains the informaon necessary to
ensure safe use of any of these handbikes. It contains troubleshoong informaon with soluons (where/if ap-
plicable). The handbikes are all easy-propulsion acve sport wheelchairs made with high-strength aluminum.
The handbikes design make for an easy to use and operate handbike, which can be worked independently. The
handbike are ideal for users who want to have an acve life, outdoors on and o roads (depending on the model
and its wheels).
The instrucons in this manual are essenal for safe and correct use of the handbike. Before using the wheel-
chair, read these instrucons carefully - pay special aenon to the safety instrucons. Furthermore, The infor-
maon provided ensures that the user gets the opmum advantage of the wheelchairs features and funcons.
Keep this user´s manual throughout the lifeme of the handbike: it contains informaon for future quesons and
it contains guidelines for adjusng and adapng the handbike.
This user´s manual has been produced in accordance with DS EN82079-1 ’Preparaon of instrucons for use -
Structuring, content and presentaon’. It is divided into secons. The heading on each page contains the tle
of the overall secon. The footer of each page displays the page number, year, and site of origin of the user´s
manual. It also includes the wheelchair´s model.
1.2. Intended Use
The electric wheelchair is intended to provide mobility to persons who are unable to walk or who have a mobil-
ity problem. It is designed for individual use, and it can be operated either by the person sing in the wheelchair
or by another person, both by using the joysck. The electric wheelchair can be used both indoors and outdoors.
Wolturnus A/S does not guarantee this product if it is used with accessories or products from manufacturers
other than those specied as part of the modular system.
Use of the handbike for any purpose other than the aforemenoned will be considered incorrect. In the event of
incorrect use, the user - i.e. not the manufacturer - is liable for resulng damage to persons or property.
These handbikes may only be used by experienced users. For personal protecon and in order to ensure that
the handbikes are used safely and correctly, it is a requirement that the user and helpers receive training and
instrucons prior to use of the handbikes.
To ensure that the handbikes are used correctly it has to be operated exclusively as described in this user´s
manual. The user bears nal responsibility for accident-free use.

1.3 Usage
The handbikes are of modular design and versality makes it suitable for users who have dicules walking or
who have a mobility handicap as a result of:
• Paralysis
• Loss of limbs (leg amputaon)
• Limb defects or deformies
• Damaged or defecve limbs
• Other illnesses
When adapng the handbike for the user, the following should be taken into account:
• Body, height and weight (max. load 120 kg.)
• Physical and mental constuon
• Age
• Residenal circumstances
• Surroundings
Note: Due to high variability and numinous customizaon opons, always based on the user’s abilies and
funconality this wheelchair model does not have a general technical table. If technical informaon is needed
please contact Wolturnus A/S.
1.4 Service
In the event of quesons or problems that cannot be solved using this user´s manual, please contact Wolturnus

Wolturnus A/S strives to provide full assistance to its customers in every respect. For Wolturnus A/S contact

1.5 CE Compliance
This product is a medical device with CE marking in accordance with the Medical Device Regulaon (MDR), EU
2017/745. This product has been classied as a class I medical device according to the classicaon criteria out-
lined in Annex VIII of the MDR. It follows that Wolturnus A/S has therefore, as manufacturer with sole liability,
made a declaraon of conformity in accordance with appendix lV.
1.6 Warranty
Wolturnus provides a two-year warranty for manufacturing defects from date of purchase if the device is used

in accordance with this user manual. The warranty and guarantee do not apply to normal wear and tear, nor to
defects, malfuncons or failures that result from the abuse, neglect, shocks or crashes, improper maintenance,
alteraon, modicaon, accident, or misuse, nor damage occurring during shipment, improper assembly, or as-
sembly with non-compable products. This include, but is not limited to, overload of the product (check product
label for maximum user weight), lack of maintenance and/or service as described in the instrucons of use, use
of unoriginal accessories and parts, changes to the product which deviate from Wolturnus’ specicaons, and
repairs that have been carried out before our Customer Service has been informed.
1.7 Liability
Wolturnus A/S is not liable for injury or damage caused by:
• Components and parts that are not authorised by Wolturnus A/S.
• Alteraon to the original surface treatment.
• Repairs or alteraons to the handbike that are not carried out by Wolturnus A/S. All warranty repairs has
to be carried out by Wolturnus A/S.
• Incorrect use of the handbike, or loads that exceed the construcon or specied maximum for the wheel-
chair (in accordance with MDR).
• Circumstances in which the handbike is used by any party other than the original owner/user.
• Circumstances involving bad weather or dangerous situaons, or in general all types of predictable negli-
gence.
• Lack of maintenance.
• Cleaning with agents that contain acid or alkaline products, with high-pressure equipment or similar.

1.8 Returns
Before a product is returned, a warranty claim must be submied to Wolturnus A/S using the form available
here: www.wolturnus.dk/en/complaints/
In the event that the handbike has to be returned to the supplier or to Wolturnus A/S, e.g. for repairs, it must
be transported in its original packaging for opmum protecon. It follows that Wolturnus A/S recommends that
the original packaging is retained throughout the lifeme of the wheelchair.
1.9 Serious Incidents
Wolturnus shall be informed (see contact details on the last page) of all serious incidents which are dened as
any incident that directly or indirectly led, might have led or might lead to any of the following:
• the death of a paent, user or other person
• the temporary or permanent serious deterioraon of a paent’s, user’s or other person’s state of health
• a serious public health threat

2.2 Standards and Direcves
All safety informaon in this user´s manual is based on applicable naonal laws and regulaons in the EU. For
other countries, a declaraon of conformity with applicable laws and naonal regulaons is required.
In addion to the safety instrucons contained in this user´s manual, the user must be familiar with and must
comply with applicable regulaons from professional associaons, concerning accident prevenon and regar-
ding environmental protecon. All informaon contained in this user´s manual must be complied at all mes
without limitaons. The wheelchairs are constructed in accordance with applicable regulaons. The wheel-
chairs safety level is approved by CE cercaon and a declaraon of conformity.
2.3 General Safety Instrucons
• The wheelchair may p over.
• The wheelchair must only be used according to instrucon in this manual.
• The wheelchair must only be used by trained users and must not be used by any other person than the user.
• The wheelchair must only be used to transport one person at a me.
• All safety instrucons in this user´s manual and all other relevant documentaon must be kept and complied
with throughout the lifeme of the wheelchair. The user´s manual must always be available to the user.
• The back and seat upholstery is re-resistent, but can be ignited. Therefore extreme care must be taken
when in vicinity of ammable items and re i.e. lit cigarees.
• To avoid discomfort when using the wheelchair, damaged back or seat upholstery should be replaced as
soon as possible.
• Do not force the wheelchair over obstacles when using it on slopes.
• The wheelchair must not be used on stairs.
• Avoid geng in or out of the wheelchair while on slopes.
• Do not park on slopes that exceed 7°, even when the brake pads are acvitated.
2.4 Safety Requirements for Transport, Assembly and Storage
• Only suitable liing mechanisms must be used when transporng the wheelchair.
• When adjusng and adapng the wheelchair, all aachment features - such as screws and nuts - must be
fastened according to the instrucons in this manual.
• The wheelchair is not intended to be used as a seat when in a motor vehicle.

2.5 Safety Requirements in Usage
• The user and helpers must always ensure that the wheelchair and its safety features are in a proper and safe
condion before using the wheelchair.
• The wheelchair must be inspected by a Wolturnus-authorised specialist at least once a year in order to en-
sure that the wheelchair is in proper working order and safe to use.
• The wheelchair must immediately cease to be used if any feature is defecve or not operaonal or if any
other circumstance arises which could lead to injury.
• Before starng to use the wheelchair, all mechanical adjustments (posioning the seat, accessories, etc.)
must be carried out in accordance with the user’s individual preferences, prerequirements and abilies.
These adjustments may only be carried out by by specialists authorized by Wolturnus.
• 120 kg is the maximum load for the wheelchair. It must not be exceeded.
• The wheelchair res must be inspected visually before use to ensure that there is sucient tread depth and
correct re pressure. The correct pressure is printed on the re.
• When used on public roads, the user must obey applicable trac rules.
• The wheelchair should not be used on slippery surfaces (e.g. ice) or on very rough terrain (e.g. on gravel or
small stones).
• When geng in and out of the wheelchair, the user’s full weight should not be placed on the steering wheel.
These cannot bear full body weight.
• Change direcon at reduced speed only.
• The wheelchair must only be lied by gripping the frame parts. Do not grip the steering components or
gears to li the wheelchair.
• The wheelchair must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, to high humidity or to environments with
chlorine (e.g. in saunas or at swimming pools).
• The wheelchair’s surface temperature can raise if it is exposed to extreme heat, e.g. in strong sunlight for
an extended period of me. There is also a risk of very low surface temperature in the event of extremely
cold weather.
• Never place ngers between the wheel spokes or between the rear wheel and the wheel locks. Cauon is
advised when travelling through narrow passages.
2.6 User requirements
• Before starng to use the handbike, the user and any helpers must read the user´s manual thoroughly and
be familiar with its contents.
• The handbike must only be used by trained users. To ensure this, the user and any helpers has to receive
instrucon in use of the chair from Wolturnus-authorised specialists

2.7 Type Labels
A type label is aached to the handbike. The type label includes the following informaon:

3 Product Descripon
3.1 Amasis racing wheelchair
Amasis is the ulmate bid for maximum transfer of the athlete’s forces. In athlecs as well as in long distance
races, Amasis race chair has since 2004 won many victories for the Paralympic physician and beat world records.
Amasis has a frame in tempered 7020 lightweight aluminum. With its extra-thick frame, the racing wheelchair
becomes rigid and robust, thus transferring all the athlete’s forces to energy and propulsion.
Amasis is tailored to the individual user’s needs and wishes. Wolturnus oers several upgrade opons, which
will be menoned in secon 7. Accesories and Equipment.
