Herstellung der
Messbereitschaft Bei Auslieferung ist die Messkette mit der Aufbewahrungskappe (ohne die weiße gaspermeable Membran) versehen.
lAufbewahrungskappe entfernen.
lMesskette mit entionisiertem Wasser spülen.
lca. 1 ml NH3-Elektrolytlösung in einen Austauschkopf geben.
lLuftblasen im Elektrolytraum durch Klopfen entfernen.
lAustauschkopf auf Messkette aufschrauben.
lMesskette mit Anschlusskabel an das Gerät anschließen.
lAufbewahrungskappe aufbewahren. Sie dient als Schutz, wenn die
Messkette länger gelagert werden soll.

4.1 Kalibrieren
Hinweis
Lesen Sie bitte die Kalibrierung in der Bedienungsanleitung des Messgeräts
nach.

4.2 Probenvorbereitung
1 % alkalisches Reagenz (MZ/NH3/CN) der wäßrigen Probe zugeben.
Unbedingt WTW-Applikationsberichte bzw. Analysenvorschrift beachten.

4.3 Ansprechzeit
Die Ansprechzeit ist stark abhängig von der Konzentration des Mess-Ions,
dem Zustand der Messkette und der Richtung der Konzentrationsänderung.
Für eine 10-fache Konzentrationsänderung von 50 auf 5 mg/l NH4-N beträgt
die Ansprechzeit t99 < 8 min.
4.4 Störungen

4.6 Alterung
Der beim Wechseln des Austauschkopfs sichtbare Glasteil der Messkette
stellt eine spezielle pH-Elektrode dar. Beachten Sie bitte, dass diese einer
natürlichenAlterungunterliegt.LäßtsichtrotzWechselsdesAustauschkopfs
die gewünschte Steilheit nicht erreichen, so ist die pH-Elektrode verbraucht.
Die pH-Elektrode ist für die konventionelle pH-Messung ungeeignet. In
diesem Fall erlischt jeglicherGarantieanspruch,ebenso wie bei Verwendung
von typfremden Elektrolyten und mechanischen Beschädigungen.
Lagerdauer Aufbewahrung
Bis zu ca. 2 Tagen mit aufgeschraubtem Austauschkopf in
NH3-Elektrolytlösung stellen
Länger als ca. 2 Tage Messkette wie folgt aufbewahren:
lAustauschkopf abschrauben
lMesskette spülen
lEinige Tropfen Leitungswasser in die Aufbe-
wahrungskappe geben und Aufbewahrungs-
kappe aufschrauben. Die Glasmembran bleibt
somit konditioniert.

5 Reinigung und Wartung
5.1 Reinigung
Nach dem Reinigen gründlichmit entionisiertem Wasser spülen und gegebe-
nenfalls neu kalibrieren.
5.2 Austauschkopf wechseln
Der Austauschkopf ist ein Verschleißteil und muss je nach Bedarf und Anfor-
derung von Zeit zu Zeit erneuert werden. Indikatoren für einen Wechsel sind
die Abnahme der Steilheit, eine Erhöhung der Ansprechzeit oder eine
Einschränkung des Messbereichs. Der Wechsel erfolgt gemäß dem Kapitel
INBETRIEBNAHME.

Authorized use The authorized use of the NH 500/2 consists of its use as an ammonia or
ammonium electrode in the laboratory and field.

Getting the sensor
ready for
measuring
On delivery, the electrode is equipped with the storing cap (without the white,
gas-permeable membrane).
lRemove the storing cap.
lRinse the electrode with deionized water.
lFill approx. 1 ml NH3electrolyte solution into a membrane cap.
lRemove air bubbles in the electrolyte by knocking.
lScrew the membrane cap on the electrode.
lConnect the electrode to the meter using the connection cable.
lKeep the storing cap. It serves as a protective cap if the
electrode is stored for a longer period of time.
4 Measuring / operation
4.1 Calibration
Note
For calibration, please refer to the operating manual of the measuring
instrument.

4.2 Sample preparation
Add 1 % alkaline reagent (MZ/NH3/CN) to the aqueous sample. It is essential
to observe the WTW application reports and analysis specifications
respectively.

ion, the condition of the electrode and the direction of the concentration
change.
For a 10-fold concentration change from 50 to 5 mg/l NH4-N, the response
time t99 is < 8 min.
4.4 Interferences

4.6 Aging
Theglasspartoftheelectrodethatisvisiblewhenexchangingthemembrane
cap is a special pH electrode. Please note that it undergoes a natural aging
process. If the required slope cannot be achieved despite having changed
the membrane cap, the pH electrode is exhausted.
The pH electrode is unsuitable for conventional pH measurement. This case
as well as using unsuitable electrolytes and mechanical damage invalidates
any warranty claim.

5.7 Cleaning
After cleaning, thoroughly rinse with deionized water and recalibrate if
necessary.
5.8 Exchanging the membrane cap
The membrane cap is a wear part and has to be replaced from time to time,
depending on demand and requirements. A reduced slope, an extended
response time or a restricted measuring range indicate thata replacement is
necessary. The exchange is carried out according to the chapter,
COMMISSIONING.
