Xerox Secure Access
Installation Guide
Overview
This document describes how to configure the Xerox Secure Access Unified ID System®
with a USB card reader. The USB card reader is connected directly to the USB port on
the Xerox machine. When the USB card reader is connected to the machine, a traditional
card reading device is no longer required.
Prerequisites
•Xerox Secure Access unified solution: Xerox Secure Access server software version
4.1.0.3287 or higher
•Equitrac®provider and libraries for USB card reader: EqXCPProvider,
LibforEqXCPProvider
•Support card and cards readers: Please see Xerox Secure Access documentation on
supported card and card readers
•Configuration: SSL (Secure Socket Layer) has to be enabled
Note
Extensible service setup has to be enabled if the EIP application is used.
Installation
Connecting the USB card reader
Two USB ports are located on the back of the Xerox machine. The two USB ports are
located next to each other.
Insert the USB connection from the card reader into the USB port on the right side.

Configuring the machine to communicate with the USB card reader
Enabling the plug-in feature on the machine
1. Open an internet web browser.
2. Enter the IP address of the machine in the address field.
3. Press Enter to go to CentreWare®Internet Services.
4. Select the Properties tab.
5. If prompted, enter the system administrator user name and password.
The default user name is admin and the default password is 1111.
6. Select OK.
7. Select the Security folder.
8. In the Security folder, select Plug-in Settings.
9. In the Plug-In Settings folder, select Plug-in Settings in the directory tree.
10. In the Plug-in Settings area perform the following steps:
a) Check the Enabled checkbox for Plug-in Settings.
b) Select Apply.
A message is displayed stating that the machine must be rebooted before the
new settings can take effect.
11. Select Reboot Machine.
A message displays asking: Do you want to reboot?
12. Select OK.
Uploading the two Equitrac Provider plug-ins
1. Open an internet web browser.
2. Enter the IP address of the machine in the address field.
3. Press Enter to go to CentreWare®Internet Services.
4. Select the Properties tab.
5. If prompted, enter the system administrator user name and password.
The default user name is admin and the default password is 1111.
6. Select OK.
7. Select the Security folder.
8. In the Security folder, select Plug-in Settings.
9. In the Plug-in Settings folder, select List of Embedded Plug-ins (from the directory
tree).
10. Select the Upload button.
The Upload Plug-in page displays.
11. From the Upload Plug-in page perform the following:

Select the Browse button.a)
b) Select Equitrac XCP Provider file and select the Open button.
c) Select the Upload button.
12. Select the Security folder.
13. In the Security folder, select Plug-in Settings.
14. In the Plug-in Settings folder, select List of Embedded Plug-ins (from the directory
tree).
15. Select the Upload button.
The Upload Plug-in page displays.
16. From the Upload Plug-in page perform the following:
a) Select the Browse button.
b) Select Libraries for Equitrac XCP Provider file and select the Open button.
c) Select the Upload button.
17. Reboot the machine.
a) Select the Status tab.
b) Select Reboot Machine.
A message displays asking: Do you want to reboot?
c) Select OK.
Checking the status of the embedded plug-ins
1. Open an internet web browser.
2. Enter the IP address of the machine in the address field.
3. Press Enter to go to CentreWare®Internet Services.
4. Select the Properties tab.
5. If prompted, enter the system administrator user name and password.
The default user name is admin and the default password is 1111.
6. Select OK.
7. Select the Security folder.
8. In the Security folder, select Plug-in Settings.
9. In the Plug-in Settings folder, select List of Embedded Plug-ins (from the directory
tree).
10. Under the Status heading, check the status of the plug-ins.
The plug-ins should display Activated.
11. If the Status does not display Activated, select the Start button to activate the plug-in.
12. Ensure that the status for all embedded plug-ins displays Activated.
Deactivating the plug-ins

2. Enter the IP address of the machine in the address field.
3. Press Enter to go to CentreWare®Internet Services.
4. Select the Properties tab.
5. If prompted, enter the system administrator user name and password.
The default user name is admin and the default password is 1111.
6. Select OK.
7. Select the Security folder.
8. In the Security folder, select Plug-in Settings.
9. In the Plug-in Settings folder, select List of Embedded Plug-ins (from the directory
tree).
10. Select Equitrac XCP Provider.
11. Select the Stop button.
A message displays asking Do you want to deactivate the selected plug-in.
12. Select OK.
13. Reboot the machine to deactivate the current plug-in.
a) Select the Status tab.
b) Select Reboot Machine.
A message displays asking: Do you want to reboot?
c) Select OK.
Activating the plug-ins
1. Open an internet web browser.
2. Enter the IP address of the machine in the address field.
3. Press Enter to go to CentreWare®Internet Services.
4. Select the Properties tab.
5. If prompted, enter the system administrator user name and password.
The default user name is admin and the default password is 1111.
6. Select OK.
7. Select the Security folder.
8. In the Security folder, select Plug-in Settings.
9. In the Plug-in Settings folder, select List of Embedded Plug-ins (from the directory
tree).
10. Under the Status heading, check the status of the plug-ins.
The plug-ins should display Activated.
11. If the Status does not display Activated, select the Start button to activate the plug-in.
12. Recheck that the status for the plug-ins.
The status displays Reboot to Activate.

13. Reboot the machine to activate the plug-in.
a) Select the Status tab.
b) Select Reboot Machine.
A message displays asking: Do you want to reboot?
c) Select OK.
After the machine reboots the status then displays Activated.
14. Ensure that the correct version of the plug-in was uploaded and activated.
a) Select the specific plug-in.
b) Select Details to view the correct version of the plug-in.
c) Select Close to return to the List of Embedded Plug-Ins.
Configuring the machine to use Xerox
Secure Access for authentication
The following steps are required for Xerox Secure Access to communicate with the
Authentication feature.
1. Open an internet web browser.
2. Enter the IP address of the machine in the address field.
3. Press Enter to go to CentreWare®Internet Services.
4. Select the Properties tab.
5. If prompted, enter the system administrator user name and password.
The default user name is admin and the default password is 1111.
6. Select OK.
7. Select the Security folder.
8. Select Authentication Configuration in the directory tree.
9. The Authentication Configuration > Step 1 of 2 displays.
a) Select Xerox Secure Access from the Login Type drop-down menu.
b) Select Apply.
A message displays.
c) Select OK.
d) Select the Status tab.
e) Select Reboot Machine.
A message displays asking: Do you want to reboot?
f) Select OK.
10. Repeat the following steps:
a) Open an internet web browser.

b) Enter the IP address of the machine in the address field.
c) Press Enter to go to CentreWare®Internet Services.
d) Select the Properties tab.
e) If prompted, enter the system administrator user name and password.
The default user name is admin and the default password is 1111.
f) Select OK.
g) Select the Security folder.
h) Select Authentication Configuration in the directory tree.
i) The Authentication Configuration > Step 1 of 2 displays.
11. Select Next.
The Authentication Configuration > Step 2 of 2 displays.
12. Select Configure for Authentication System.
The following steps are OPTIONAL and are used for setting access control.
13. Select Authentication Configuration in the directory tree.
14. The Authentication Configuration > Step 1 of 2 displays.
15. Select Next.
The Authentication Configuration > Step 2 of 2 displays.
16. In the Device Default State Configuration area, select the Configure button (for
Service Access).
17. Select one of the following settings for each service you want to control:
•Unlocked: This selection allows unrestricted access.
•Locked (Show Icon): This selection requires the user to login in order to gain
access. The service icon is visible to all users in the All Services screen.
•Locked (Hide Icon): This selection requires the user to login in order to gain access.
The service icon is hidden until an authorized user logs in.
18. Select Apply.
If prompted, enter the system administrator user name and password.
The default user name is admin and the default password is 1111.
19. Select OK.
20. Reboot the machine.
a) Select Reboot Machine.
A message displays asking: Do you want to reboot?
b) Select OK.
