bemovedonthefrontwheels.CarefullymovetheFoldingBiketothedesiredlocationandthenlower
it.
GENERALMAINTENANCE
Thesafetyofthisproductcanbemaintainedonlyifregularperiodicchecksaremade.Mostcheckscan
beperformedonceaweek.However,somechecksshouldbemadebeforeeachworkout,andare
indicatedassuchbelow.
Checks
•Checkthatseatnutsaresecure,checkbeforeeachworkout.
•Checkthatpedalsaretight,pedalscanworklooseovertime.
•Checkthatstabilizerboltsaretight,checkbeforeeachworkout.
•Checkthathandlebarissecure,ifnot,tighten,checkbeforeeachworkout.
•Shouldapartbecomedefective,replaceitimmediately.Donotallowuseoftheequipmentuntilit
hasbeenrepaired.
Cleaning

BASICCOMPONENTSOFPHYSICALFITNESS
Therearefourallencompassingcomponentsofphysicalfitnessandweneedtobrieflydefineeachand
clarifyitsrole.
Strengthisthecapacityofamuscletoexertaforceagainstresistance.Strengthcontributesto
powerandspeedandisofgreatimportancetoamajorityofsportspeople.
MuscularEnduranceisthecapacitytoexertaforcerepeatedlyoveraperiodoftime,e.g.itisthe
capacityofyourlegstocarryyou10Kmwithoutstopping.

AEROBICFITNESS
Thelargestamountofoxygenthatyoucanuseperminuteduringexerciseiscalledyourmaximum
oxygenuptake(MVo2).Thisisoftenreferredtoasyouraerobiccapacity.
Theeffortthatyoucanexertoveraprolongedperiodoftimeislimitedbyyourabilitytodeliveroxygen
totheworkingmuscles.Regularvigorousexerciseproducesatrainingeffectthatcanincreaseyour
aerobiccapacitybyasmuchas20to30%.AnincreasedMVO2indicatesanincreasedabilityoftheheart
topumpblood,ofthelungstoventilateoxygenandofthemusclestotakeupoxygen.
AnaerobicTraining
Thismeans“withoutoxygen”andistheoutputofenergywhentheoxygensupplyisinsufficienttomeet
thebody’slongtermenergydemands.(Forexample,100metersprint).
TheTrainingThreshold
Thisistheminimumlevelofexercisewhichisrequiredtoproducesignificantimprovementsinany
physicalfitnessparameter.

Asyourbecomefitter,ahigherintensityofexerciseisrequiredtocreateanoverloadandtherefore
providecontinuedimprovement
Overload
Thisiswhereyouexerciseatalevelabovethatwhichcanbecarriedoutcomfortably.Theintensity,
durationandfrequencyofexerciseshouldbeabovethetrainingthresholdandshouldbegradually
increasedasthebodyadaptstotheincreasingdemands.Asyourfitnesslevelimproves,sothetraining
thresholdshouldberaised.
Workingthroughyourprogramandgraduallyincreasingtheoverloadfactorisimportant.
Specificity
Differentformsofexerciseproducedifferentresults.Thetypeofexercisethatiscarriedoutisspecific
bothtothemusclegroupsbeingusedandtotheenergysourceinvolved.
Thereislittletransferoftheeffectsofexercise,i.e.fromstrengthtrainingtocardiovascularfitness.That

WARMUP
Everyexerciseprogramshouldstartwithawarmupwherethebodyispreparedfortheefforttocome.
Itshouldbegentleandpreferablyusethemusclestobeinvolvedlater.
Stretchingshouldbeincludedinbothyourwarmupandcooldown,andshouldbeperformedafter3‐5
minutesoflowintensityaerobicactivityorcallisthenictypeexercise.
WarmDownorCoolDown
Thisinvolvesagradualdecreaseintheintensityoftheexercisesession.Followingexercise,alarge
supplyofbloodremainsintheworkingmuscles.Ifitisnotreturnedpromptlyothecentralcirculation,
poolingofbloodmayoccurinthemuscles
HeartRate
Asyouexercise,sotherateatwhichyourheartbeatalsoincreases.Thisisoftenusedasameasureof
therequiredintensityofexercise.Youneedtoexercisehardenoughtoconditionyourcirculatorysystem,
andincreaseyourpulserate,butnotenoughtostrainyourheart.
Yourinitialleveloffitnessisimportantindevelopinganexerciseprogramforyou.Ifyouarestartingoff,
youcangetagoodtrainingeffectwithaheartrateof110‐120beatsperminute(BPM).Ifyouarefitter,
youwillneedahigherthresholdofstimulation.
Tobeginwith,youshouldexerciseatalevelthatelevatesyourheartratetoabout65to70%ofyour
maximum.Ifyoufindthisistooeasy,youmaywanttoincreaseit,butitisbettertoleanonthe
conservativeside.
Asaruleofthumb,themaximumheartrateis220minusyourage.Asyouincreaseinage,soyourheart,
likeothermuscles,losessomeofitsefficiency.Someofitsnaturallossiswonbackasfitnessimproves.
