Additional information
Due to the upgrading of the firmware, the following functions are added or changed after the printing of the supplied
owner’s manual.
The “Volume Fine Adj” menu is added to “Sound
Settings”.
■Adjusting the volume from the
Control Panel of the USB-connected
PC (USB Vol. Adj.)
When a PC is connected to the system through USB, the
microphone and speaker volume can be adjusted and
muted in the “Sound and Audio Device Properties”
window on the PC. For how to view the “Sounds and
Audio Devices Properties” window, refer to steps 1 to 3 on
page 9 of the supplied owner’s manual.
•Enable: When this system and a PC are connected
through USB, the microphone and speaker volume can
be adjusted and muted from the Control Panel.
•Disable (default): When this system and a PC are
connected through USB, the audio signals are input or
output between them always at a constant volume. The
display of this system displays an icon indicating this
mode.
Using the keys on this unit
In the initial display, select “Menu” →“Settings”
→“Sound Settings” →“Volume Fine Adj”
→“USB Vol. Adj.”.
When adjusting the volume using the keys on this system after
having adjusted it from the Control Panel of the PC, leave an
interval of 2 seconds or more before pressing the keys on this
system.
■Adjusting the volume
The audio input volume from the microphones and the
audio input/output volumes from/at the AUDIO IN/OUT
terminals can be fine adjusted.
• Microphone: Fine adjustment of the input volume from
the microphones of the system.
• Audio IN: Fine adjustment of the input volume from
the AUDIO IN/OUT terminals.
• Audio OUT: Fine adjustment of the output volume at
the AUDIO IN/OUT terminals.
Using the keys on this unit
In the initial display, select “Menu” →“Settings”
→“Sound Settings” →“Volume Fine Adj”.

•Usethe and keys to fine adjust each volume.
• Adjustment range: –12.0 dB to 12.0 dB (0.5 dB steps)
• Initial setting: 0 dB
Varying the volume setups may distort audio in certain operating
environments. In this case, reduce the volume setting until the
distortion disappears.
If your PC or TV conference system does not have the line
input/output terminals, it can be connected to this system
using the headphone output and microphone input
terminals.
■Connection
Prepare two commercially available audio connection
cables (stereo mini-jack cables).
1Connect the AUDIO IN jack of this unit to the
headphone output terminal of the PC.
2Connect the AUDIO OUT jack of this unit to
the microphone input terminal of the PC.
3Configure the “Volume Fine Adj” and
“External Input/Output” menus.
■Setting the “Volume Fine Adj” menu
Set the “Audio OUT” between –6.0 and –12.0 dB.

In the initial display, select “Menu” →“Settings”
→“SoundSettings”→“VolumeFineAdj”→“Audio
OUT”.

■Setting the “External I/O” menu
Set “External I/O” to “Audio”. The display shows .

→“Sound Settings” →“External I/O” →“Audio”.

• The audio may be distorted or too low in certain operating
environments. In such a case, adjust “Audio Input” and “Audio
OUT” in the “Volume Fine Adj” menu.
• Change the settings of the audio input/output of the connected
PC and TV conference system in advance. See page 13 of the
supplied owner’s manual for the settings of the audio input/
output of PCs.
You can select the language that appears on the display of this
unit.

Selecting the menu language (Language)

: Select this option to display the menus
in English.

: Select this option to display the menus in
Japanese.
Using the keys on this unit
In the initial display, select “Menu” →“Settings”
→“General Settings” →“Language”.
In “Microphone Mode”, the zone function has been improved
and the audio pick up area has been broadened. The zone
function can be selected between “Zone (near)” and “Zone
(far)”.
■Selecting the audio pickup area
(microphone mode)
You can select the audio pickup area of the microphone
during a call. The default setting is “Zone (near)”.
•Zone (near) (default): Pick up the audio from a large
area not only tracking the audio of the talker. It is
suitable for a relatively quiet environment. Use the area
select keys in the “Microphone Mode” menu to specify
the audio pickup area, and then press . The audio
in the area of the following figure is picked up
according to the pressed keys.
All microphone indicators (blue LED) from the direction
which audio can be picked up light up.

• Press to pick up audio from all directions.
• The possible combinations are [ + ], [ + ],
and all areas.
•Zone (far): Pick up the audio from a large area (more
than 2 meters farer than “Zone (near) ”) not only
tracking the audio of the talker. It is suitable for a
relatively quiet environment.
• In “Zone (far)”, you can not specify the audio pick up area.
•Spot: Fix the audio pick up area to the front of the
microphone by narrowing the directivity. This mode is
suitable when the number of talkers is limited to one or
two, or when there is equipment that produces noise
such as a projector nearby.
To specify the audio pick up area, use the numeric keys
in the “Microphone Mode” menu. The area shown in
the next figure is enabled or disabled according to the
pressed keys.

[ + ], and all areas.
•Track: The microphone system automatically tracks
and focuses the audio of the talker without fixing the
audio pickup area (only the one talker’s audio can be
picked up at any given time). The audio can be picked
up with narrow directivity so that the noises other than
the taker can be reduced. It is suitable to pick up the
audio clearly in the environment where there are
noises.
To specify the area to which this feature is available, use
the numeric keys in the “Microphone Mode” menu. The
area shown in the next figure is enabled or disabled
according to the pressed keys.

• You can select multiple areas at the same time.
• You can select areas where the audio pickup feature is not
applied.
