CAUTION
Always follow the basic precautions listed below to avoid the possibility of
physical injury to you or others, or damage to the instrument or other property.
These precautions include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Assemble this product in the proper sequence by following the assembly instructions in this manual. Also, make sure
to tighten the bolts regularly. Failure to do so might result in damage to the product or even injury.
• If this product is used with a rack system or cymbal stand, do not place the rack or stand on a sloping, unstable sur-
face, or on steps. The rack or stand can overturn or be damaged, resulting in injury.
• If this product is used with a rack system or cymbal stand, make sure all bolts are tightened firmly. Also, when adjust-
ing the height or angle, be sure to proceed slowly when loosening bolts. Loose bolts can result in the rack overturning
or parts dropping, causing injury.
• Be careful when children are close to or touching the product. Careless movement around the product can result in
injury.
• When setting the pads, pay close attention to the handling and setting of cables. Carelessly placed cables can cause
the user and others to trip and fall.
• Do not alter the product. Doing so can result in injury or damage/deterioration to the product.
• Keep small parts out of the reach of infants.Your children may accidentally swallow them.
NOTICE
• Do not press or scrape the playing surface of your pad unit with drum sticks as this may decrease the sensitivity or
diminish the playing “feel.”

in a closed car, etc.) or high humidity (bathroom, outside on a rainy day, etc.). Doing so can result in deformation, dis-
coloration, damage or deterioration.
• Never leave any materials which are easily color-transferable, such as rubber items, on the drum pad surface. Other-
wise, the color of the material can be transferred to the drum pad surface. Be especially careful of this when you store
the drum pads.
• When cleaning the product, use a soft and dry/slightly damp cloth. Do not use paint thinners, solvents, alcohol, clean-
ing fluids, or chemical-impregnated wiping cloths.
• When connecting and disconnecting cables, be sure to hold the plug and not the cable itself. In addition, avoid plac-
ing heavy items on top of cables and do not allow them to touch sharp edges. Failure to avoid these precautions can
lead to cable breakage and disconnection.

The rubber rim is made from consumable material, and may need to be replaced depending on normal wear and tear. For
information on replacement parts, contact your dealer or qualified Yamaha service personnel.
When attaching the rubber rim, make sure that it covers from the outside to the inside of the hoop circumference.
After attaching, make sure that the rubber rim fits all the way around.
The rubber rim replacement is now complete.
• The drum key can be found in the pad set package.
• Avoid over-tightening the bolts. If you hear a creaking sound in the wooden body, loosen the bolts slightly.
• The head is properly tightened when the surface is smooth, with no wrinkles, yet sinks a little when you press
the center.
• Unlike acoustic drums, electronic drums have the same tone even when the head tension is changed. Adjusting
the head tension is necessary to adjust the feel and prevent malfunction.
Rubber Rim Replacement
Head Tension Adjustment (mesh pad only)
• The drum key bolts fixing the head can be loosened while using. Each time before you play, adjust the
head tension to prevent rattling and loosening of the head.
To adjust the head tension, tighten or loosen the six drum key bolts on the outside of the head in the
order shown in the figure below. Make sure to tighten or loosen the drum key bolts evenly. If you tighten
or loosen only one, the head tension will not be even.
• Do not use a long handle drum key (such as a high-torque drum key or high-tension drum key) to tighten the head.
Over-tightening can damage your drum.
