How to make a measurement
1. Choose a plant in the right
growth stage (~BBCH 30 - 51).
The N-recommendations provided
by Yara are only valid for certain
crops and development stages.
Check the Yara app for more
information.
Tip: Make sure that the eld has
enough sulfur. A lack of sulfur
will change the leaf color and the
N-Recommendation provided
might not be correct.
Tip: When measuring, avoid any
atypical areas of the eld (e.g.
areas with distinctly different soil
properties, such as sand banks or
similar).
2. Choose the youngest fully
developed leaf from your plant to
make a measurement.
Avoid grained or thick points of the
leaf, leaves with visible drought
stress or leaves rolled together.
3. Place the leaf inside the
measuring head, using the center
line as a reference to place the
leaf. The lens must be covered
completely. If necessary, the leaf
stopper can be moved a little to
adapt to the width of the leaf.
