General Safety Rules
!WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to the battery charger and battery pack,
charge only the specically designated battery pack that was included with this charger. Charging
other types of battery packs may cause them to burst, causing personal injuries or damages.
! NOTE: Before using the battery charger, read all instructions and safety warnings in this manual, on the
battery charging stand, on the battery pack, and on the battery powered product to prevent misuse of
the products and possible injuries or damages.
! WARNING: READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL INSTRUCTIONS. Failure to follow all instructions listed
herein may result in electric shocks, res and / or serious personal injuries.
FOR ALL APPLIANCES
1. Do not use the charger outdoors or expose to wet
or damp conditions. Water entering charging stand
will increase the risk of electric shocks.
2. Use of an attachment with this battery charger that
is not recommended may result in a risk of re,
electric shock, or personal injury.
3. Do not abuse the cord on the battery charger.
Never carry the charger by its cord. Never yank the
cord to remove the transformer from the power outlet.
Damage to the cord or charger could occur and create
an electric shock hazard. Keep cord away from heat,
oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Replace damaged
cords immediately. Damaged cords increase the risk of
electric shocks.
4. Make sure the cord is located in a place where it
will not be stepped on or tripped over; come in
contact with sharp edges, moving parts, heat, or
oil; or otherwise be subjected to damage or stress.
This will reduce the risk of accidental falls, which could
cause injury, and damage to the cord which could result
in electric shocks.

parts.
6. Do not let gasoline, oils, petroleum-based
products, etc., come in contact with plastic parts.
They contain chemicals which can damage, weaken or
destroy plastic.
7. An extension cord should not be used unless
absolutely necessary. Use of an improper extension
cord could result in a risk of re and electric shock. If
an extension cord must be used, make sure:
a) That the pins on plug of extension cord are the same
number, size and shape as those on the transformer on
the charger;
b) That the extension cord is properly wired and in good
electrical condition; and
c) That you use a proper extension cord.
ONLY use cords listed by Underwriters Laboratories
(UL) and/or Canadian Standard Association (CSA).
Other extension cords can cause a drop in line
voltage, resulting in a loss of power and overheating
of charger. An AWG (American Wire Gauge) size of at
least 14-gauge is recommended for an extension cord
of 25’ (7.6 m) or less in length. Use 12-gauge for an
extension cord of 50’ (15 m). Extension cords 100’ (30
m) or longer are not recommended.
8. INSPECT the charger cords for damage. Do not
operate the battery charger with a damaged cord
or a transformer/plug, which could cause short
circuits and electric shocks. Have damaged cords
repaired by a qualied service centre.
9. Do not operate the battery charger if it has
received a sharp blow, was dropped, or otherwise
damaged in any way. Take it to an authorized
technician to determine if the charger is in good
working order.
10. Do not disassemble battery charger. Take it to an
authorized Parts and Repair Centre when service
or repair is required. Incorrect reassembly may
result in a risk of electric shock or re.
11. Disconnect the battery charger from the power

supply when not in use. This will reduce the risk
of electric shocks or damage if metal items should
fall into the opening in the charging stand. It also will
help prevent damage during a power surge.
12. Risk of electric shocks. Do not touch non-
insulated portion of output connectors or non-
insulated battery terminals.
13. INDOOR USE – Use in an indoor location or where
contact with water is not likely to occur.
14. Save these instructions. Refer to them frequently
and use them to instruct others who may use this
battery charger. If you lend someone this battery
charger, lend them these instructions also to prevent
misuse of the product and possible injury. Make sure
they read and understand this Operator’s Manual
before they use the products.

1. CHARGING YOUR BATTERY PACK
! NOTE: Before using the tool, read the instruction manual carefully.
! WARNING: The charger and battery pack are specically designed to work together so do not attempt
to use any other devices.
The lithium-ion battery is protected against deep discharging. When the battery is empty, the machine is switched off by means of a protective circuit: the tool no longer functions.
!WARNING: When the battery charge runs out after continuous use or exposure to direct sunlight or
heat, allow time for the tool to cool down before re-charging to achieve the full charge.
2. BEFORE USING YOUR CORDLESS TOOL
Your battery pack is shipped uncharged and you must charge it before use. When you charge the new battery, or one
which has not been used for long periods of time, it may not reach full charge until after you have discharged it fully
through use and recharged it several times.

3. HOW TO CHARGE YOUR BATTERY PACK (See A, B)
Connect the battery charger to the power supply and the indicator light (1) should turn to green. Then, slide the charger base
(2) on the battery pack to make connections and the indicator light (1) will turn red to show that the charging has started. It
will remain red until the battery is fully charged. A discharged battery at normal ambient temperature will take approximately
1.5 hours to reach a full charge. When charging is completed, unplug the charger and remove the battery pack.
NOTE: green = power on;
red = charging;
green = battery is fully charged

MAINTAIN TOOLS WITH CARE
Remove the plug from the socket before carrying out any adjustment, servicing or maintenance.
Your tool requires no additional lubrication or maintenance. Never use water or chemical cleaners to clean your tool.
Wipe clean with a dry cloth. Always store your tool in a dry place.
1. I CANNOT FIT THE BATTERY INTO THE BATTERY CHARGER. WHY?
The battery can be inserted into the charger base only in one direction. Turn the battery around until it can be inserted into
the slot. The red light should turn on when the battery is charging.
2. REASONS FOR DIFFERENT CHARGING TIMES
The charging time can be affected by many reasons which are not defects in your product.
1. If the battery pack is only partly discharged it may be re-charged in less than 1 hour.
2. If the battery pack and ambient temperature are very cold then re-charging may take more time.
3. If the battery pack is very hot, you must remove your battery pack from the charger and allow it to cool rst to
ambient temperature. Then, you may start to recharge.

ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
For one (1) year from the date of purchase within Canada,
YARDWORKS CANADA will, at its option, repair or
replace for the original purchaser, free of charge, any part
or parts found to be defective in material or workmanship.
THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER
1. Any part that has become inoperative due to misuse,
commercial use, abuse, neglect, accident, improper
maintenance, or alteration;
2. The unit, if it has not been operated and/or maintained
in accordance with the owner’s manual;
3. Normal wear, except as noted below;
4. Routine maintenance items such as lubricants, blade
sharpening; or
5. Normal deterioration of the exterior nish due to use
or exposure.
FULL ONE HUNDRED TWENTY (120)DAYS WARRANTY
ON NORMAL WEAR PARTS
Normal wear parts are dened as blade adaptor, blades,
grass bags and tires.
These parts are warranted to the original purchaser to be
free from defects in
material and workmanship for a period of
one hundred twenty (120) days from the
date of retail purchase.
HOW TO OBTAIN SERVICE
Warranty service is available by calling the toll-free
helpline at 1.866.523.5218. The factory will not accept the
return of a complete unit unless prior written permission
has been extended by YARDWORKS CANADA.
TRANSPORTATION CHARGES
Transportation charges for the movement
of any power equipment unit or attachment
are the responsibility of the purchaser.
The purchaser must pay transportation
charges for any part submitted for replacement under this
warranty unless such return is requested in writing by
YARDWORKS CANADA.
OTHER WARRANTIES
All other warranties, express or implied, including any
implied warranty of merchantability is limited in its duration
to
that set forth in this express limited warranty.
The provisions as set forth in this warranty provide the
sole and exclusive remedy of YARDWORKS CANADA
obligations arising
from the sale of its products.
