Yealink T40P Telephone
Place a call
Lift the handset, press the speakerphone button or headset button. Enter the number, then press #.
Place a call via Directory
Press the Ok on the keypad and use the arrow keys to navigate to Directory (6), select Phonebook (2) and then
select either internal or external Contacts. From here you can either search for your contact by pressing the search
soft key or select phonebook to return the entire list. Highlight your required contact and press the send soft key.
Place a call using Predictive Directory
Start to type the name of your contact (e.g. eve would be 383, 0 is space). Highlight your chosen contact then
press the send soft key.
Ending a call
Place the handset on its cradle or press the end call soft key.
Answering a call
Lift the handset for handset operation or press the Line key or Speaker for hands-free operation.

Muting
Press the Mute key to mute the handset, headset, or speakerphone.
Redialing
To redial the last number called, press the Redial button twice.
To view previously dialled numbers, press the Redial button once, then use the up and down arrow keys to scroll
through the list.
Press the Redial button or the # key to dial the highlighted phone number.
Holding and Resuming
To place an existing call on hold, press the Hold button.
To retrieve a call on hold, press the Hold button again. If multiple calls are on hold, press the appropriate line key
before pressing Hold.
Call Transferring
Transfer to Number
To transfer a call-in progress, press the Transfer soft key, dial the destination number then press the B Trans soft
key to Blind Transfer or Trans soft key to start an Attended transfer.
To complete an Attended transfer, press the Transfer soft key when the destination party answers.
To cancel a transfer, press the Cancel soft key, then the Resume soft key to return to the original caller. If there is
no answer on a completed transfer, VM light ashes and Recall is show on handset.
Transfer Via Directory
To transfer a call-in progress, press the Transfer soft key, Press Dir Soft Key, then select whether it is an internal or
external contact. Here you can either search or select Phonebook to bring up all contacts. Highlight your chosen
contact and press B Trans to initialise the Blind Transfer or Trans soft key to start an Attended transfer.
To complete an Attended transfer, press the Transfer soft key when the destination party answers.
To cancel a transfer, press the Cancel soft key, then the Resume soft key to return to the original caller. If there is
no answer on a completed transfer, VM light ashes and Recall is show on handset.

3-Way Conferencing
3-Way Conferencing to Number
Place or receive a call. To add another party to the call, press the Conf button Enter the destination number,
followed by #. When the destination party answers, press the Conf button again. If there is no answer, press the
Cancel soft key, then press the resume soft key to return to the call.
3-Way Conferencing Via Directory
Place or receive a call. To add another party to the call, press the Conf button Press Dir Soft Key, then select
whether it is an internal or external contact. Here you can either search or select Phonebook to bring up all
contacts. Highlight your chosen contact and when the destination party answers, press the Conf button again. If
there is no answer, press the Cancel soft key, then press the resume soft key to return to the call.

Call History
Press the OK button and use the up and down arrow keys to navigate to the History (5). The default view is
all calls, use the left and right arrow keys to navigate between all calls placed, missed and received. When are
highlighting your desired contact you can press Send to dial or option to view the details of the contact.
Volume Control
Use the volume control button to adjust the volume, then press OK.
During an active call, the volume control button changes the volume of the handset, speakerphone or headset,
whichever is active.
Voicemail
To access voicemail messages, press the Message button or Dial 555. Depending on your system conguration,
you may be prompted for a voicemail PIN number.
Option 2 - Retrieve old messages
Option 4 – Listen to personal greeting
Option 5 – Record new personal greeting
Option 6 - Delete personal greeting
Option 7 - Delete Voicemail
