Sony FS5 EVF & Z-Finder Recoil Kits
The Sony FS5 Recoil shoulder-mounted rig includes our
VCT Universal baseplate, the FS5 Grip Relocator for the
Sony FS5 handgrip,a 13.5" LANC extension cable, the FS5
Top Plate, and our Axis Mini for Sony FS5 which can be used
with either the Gratical HD or the Sony LCD monitor with
Zacuto Z-Finder.

Mounting VCT Pro to VCT-14

Pull red lever on VCT-14 to release your
Universal VCT Plate.
Mount VCT Plate to VCT-14 by sliding the
front wedge into front slot of the VCT-14
and the tail hook around the rear knob of
VCT-14. The VCT-14 will click when the
VCT Plate is locked into place
An alternative mounting method
when using a tripod without a
VCT-14, is to mount your tripod’s
quick release wedge plate to the
wedge on the bottom of the
VCT Pro.

Attach rods to VCT Plate by loosening
ratcheting levers, sliding rods into place
and then re-tighten levers.
Adjust rod height by loosening both front
allen screws equally. Slide rods up or down
for desired position and re-lock allen screws.

Align and remount allen screws to VCT
body. Adjust to desired height and
re-lock allen screws.
Flip front rods over from original position.
Remove both allen screws and separate
front jeep with rods from VCT body.
For Red Epic/Scarlet flip the rod clamp riser.

The VCT Pro is designed to make it easier to keep your rig balanced when changing lenses. Instead of remounting the
camera on the baseplate, simply slide the red plate forward or back by using the ratcheting lever
For shorter lenses, slide the red
plate forward. For longer lenses,
slide the red plate back.

Remove red plate from baseplate
by loosening the ratcheting
lever and sliding the red plate out
the back end of the baseplate.
Push in the sliding plate release to
unlock the red plate.
Screw camera to red plate.
Slide red plate back into baseplate.
Making sure to push in the sliding plate release.

Loosen this knob to
adjust the length of
the Axis Mini.
Loosen this knob to
adjust the lower rotation.
Loosen this knob
to adjust the
upper rotation.
To change the angle of the Zwivel 2, loosen
levers and rotate. To lock, tighten lever until
pins lock into center wheel. Both halves can
be independently rotated a full 365 degrees.
Loosen tightening lever on the top
of the grip to adjust the grip’s position.
Re-tighten lever when in desired position.
If you’re unable to focus using the red
focus ring, then use the provided extender
frames as shown. When using the diopter
wheel for fine focus tuning use letters in
menu screen.

Loosen screws and rotate sun mask until
all three notches align with screws.
Remove sun mask by lifting up and insert
your desired diopter, convex side down.
Place sun mask back on top of diopter. Rotate sun
mask to original position and tighten screws.

Install rosette into FS5 grip using supplied screws.
Attach FS5 grip relocator to FS5
hangrip by turning tie down lever.
Mount the Zwivel 2 to the VCT rods.
Remove cable holder from top of FS5 body and
under the mic boom. Install on FS5 top plate.
Install FS5 top plate using supplied screws
Orient FS5 LCD as shown in picture.
Slide FS5 rod adapter into LCD rod hole
and tighten knob.
Snap the Z-Finder Pro to the FS5 Frame
To flip up the Z-Finder,
use red latch at the
bottom of the
Z-Finder Frame
Slide LCD and FS5 rod mount into
Z- Finder and tighten red knob.
Secure LCD by closing the latch
on the bottom of the Z-Finder frame.
Mount FS5 Z-Finder onto rod as shown
In picture and tighten red levers.
To remove extender frames,
press down in middle and pull away
Mount the Axis Mini to the FS5 Top Plate
rod port and lock in place with the lever.
Mount the Axis Mini
to the FS5 Top Plate
rod port and lock in
place with the lever.
Attach the Axis Mini
to the EVF rosette
using the tie down knob.

Orient your Sony Monitor as shown. Remove red knob from Rosette Adapter
Mount the Axis Mini
to the Rosette Adapter
using the tie down knob.
Insert the Axis Mini and Rosette Adapter
into the Sony Screen, and lock into place.
For additional focus range insert drop in
diopters as shown below. To insert Lvl 2
Anti-Fog Shield see diagram below.
(+4 through -1 Diopters are sold separately.)
