INSTALLATION HVX200 Repeatable Focus Ring
1. Grab the ends of the stainless steel strap with the labels facing into
your hands with tension screw in your right hand.
2. This next step is best done with
the camera on your tripod or
clamped between your legs.
3. Wrap the band around the area between the
focus and zoom barrels. Slide the band underneath
the pin behind the zoom motor.(Figure1)
If necessary angle the leading edge of the band
in toward the lens as you slide it in. (Figure 2)
It may be tight and require some pressure
and finessing.
4. Bring the ends together and
latch the tensioning screw into
place. The two housing ends will
never completely touch. If they
do you have over tightened it.
5. Rotate
stop housing
directly
under the
microphone.
6. Tighten in place with the tensioning screw.
Make sure the band isn’t touching the focus or
zoom barrels (thereshould be just enough room
for the silver band) and don’t over tighten. Just
snug it down enough so that it won’t slide in place.
With the zoom motor switch in manual check the
freedom of movement of the zoom barrel to
ensure that over tightening hasn’t occurred.

7. With the white side of the red
gear facing the camera, surround
the focus barrel and put the two
halves of the gear together over the
focus ring.
8. While clamping around the focus barrel, mount the gear as close to
the body of the camera as possible without actually touching it.
9. With one hand clamping the gear
together, tighten the two retaining
screws on the white side of the gear.
10. After tightening the lens gear in place (see figure 3), align and straighten the gear on the lens barrel.
Make sure the entire gear is close enough to the stop housing for the pin to engage the white area of the gear.
(see figure 4) For distance (see figure 5) Rotate the lens barrel around several times to gage the gap between
white plastic ring and stop housing so that they are consistent. If not, adjust gear by pushing on the edge that
touches (or is too far away from) the stop housing to get the whole gear equidistant from the stop housing.
NOTES: After being mounted for 15 minutes or so the rubber inside edge of the gear should self center the
gear on the lens barrel for moresmooth operation.

OPERATION HVX200 Repeatable Focus Ring
With the red lever down in the stops position,
the lens gear will only have the necessary 270
degrees of rotation. See calibration instructions
below for use in this mode. With the lever in
the up position the lens is in ‘neutral’ and can
rotate continuously.
1. With the camera on, turn
off the auto focus by moving
both switches to manual.
3. Shut off camera. 4. While the camera is
off turn the focus ring
clockwise (facing into
the lens) gently push on
the red lever until you
can drop the red stop
lever all the way down
into the stops position.
5. With the red
stops lever all
the way down,
continue to rotate
the lens clock-
wise until you hit
the stop point.
6. Turn on camera.
You arenow calibrated!
That first stop should be at infinity
and the other stop should be at
about 2’ 10”. If powered down
and the lens barrel rotated, you
must re-calibrate.

2. With the red lever in the
up position, turn the focus
ring to 164 feet. Then move
it just barely past 164 feet
into infinity.
