Top Plate
This Sony Top Plate is a
top cheeseplate designed
specifically for the Sony
F55 and F5 camera bodies,
allowing the camera’s vent
area to remain open. The
plate offers rows of 1/4-20”
and 3/8-16” as well as
three rod ports. Paired with
the Top Plate is our Recoil
Handle, making the Sony
F55 or F5 more mobile
and easily handheld.
The Recoil Handle is a
quick release handle that
will work with any Z-Rail to
give you a top handle and
a unique dual cold shoe
accessory mount.
Opposite the cold shoe
mount is a 15mm rod
clamp for mounting a
Zacuto arm or other rods.
3/8”-16 and 1/4“-20
mounting holes are also
available. With the
connections on both the
Top Plate and Recoil
handle your accessory
options are seemingly
endles.

Tightening Lever
Rod Port 15mm
Tighten the four top plate screws
into the aligning holes mounting
holes on the top of the camera.
The top plate & handle will come assembled,
below is how its assembled with camera.
Attach the 5” Z-Rail’s two
1/4” 20 screws into any of
the top plates 1/4”-20 holes.
The Recoil handle is attached
after the top plate and z-rail.

Mounting your QR HandleOpperating Top Plate
The direction in which jaws of QR-Coldshoe can be
changed by loosening the allen screw and rotating
the bottom jaws. Tighten allen screw when desired
position is achieved.
Loosen Z-Rail Jaws, slide onto mounted
Z-Rail and lock when in desired position.
The jaws can be moved to either end
of the handle for user preference.
Remove allen screw and
jaws connected to handle.
Align jaws with rear mount,
and tighten allen screw in place.
