IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
15. Use only matching spare parts provided by
the manufacturer; use body and lid as per
manufacturer’s indicator direction.
16. Always keep this manual for future refer-
ence; keep it close to hand.
17. The pressure cooker is designed for
household use and must not be used for
any other purposes. Children and people
who don’t know how to use it are encour-
aged not to use the pressure cooker. Keep
the cooker out of the reach of children,
especially during use.
18. Under pressure, the boiling point of the
liquids is below 120°C. A lot of steam
and liquid will come out when boiling, and
especially when the pressure is reducing
fast.
19. Don’t cook expansive food such as apple
jam, seaweed, oatmeal, etc., to avoid
blocking the steam-releasing pipe.
20. Keep the pressure-limiting valve, sealing
ring, lid and cooker body clean and clear of
grease and grime before and after using.
21. The pressure cooker should be used on
a stable stovetop. Don’t put the pressure
cooker on an electric stove with an area
larger than the cooker’s bottom. When
cooking on a gas stove, the re should not
reach the cooker’s wall (Fig. 2). The pres-
sure cooker is designed for electric stoves,
electromagnetism stoves, gas stoves, etc.
with power below 2kW.

22. Don’t point the decompression window
toward the user or toward the area where
persons often walk.
23. If steam comes out from the safety valve,
or the sealing ring is squeezed out from
the decompression window, the power
should be turned off immediately. The
problem must be found and solved before
using again.
24. Be very careful when moving the cooker
under pressure; carry it horizontally and
put down gently.
25. Never open the cooker when there is pres-
sure inside. This is incredibly dangerous
and could result in burning. Do not use the
pressure cooker if you realise a fault.
26. Do not store salt, soy sauce, alkali, sugar,
vinegar, or steam water inside the cooker
for a long time. Clean and dry it every time
after using.
27. Do not boil water off or use for dry heating.
Do not use for frying or baking food.
28. Allowed volume of food inside the pres-
sure cooker is:
29. Do not tamper with any of the safety sys-
tems beyond the maintenance instructions
specied in the intructions for use.
30. It is strongly prohibited to put anything on
the pressure-limiting valve (Fig. 5).
- Less than 1/4 of the cooker height for ex-
pansive food such as rice, bean, etc. (Fig. 3)
- Less than 2/3 of the cooker height for
non-expansive food such as meat, vegeta-
bles, etc. (Fig. 4)

For easy use of our products, we designed
and equipped the cooker with multi-device for
safety.
- The locking system of the valve ensures that
the lid is closed properly as well as safely.
- The three kinds of pressure-releasing device
ensures safe use.

SPECIAL SYMBOLS
HOW TO USE
1) The cooking pressure is normal(Yellow color)
2) The cooking pressure is not normal
(Red color)

2. Close the lid.
Close the lid as illustrated on pictures A and B
(Fig. 8).
Before turning the knob, please press the knob
slightly.
Please make sure the lid is completely closed
before use.
1) Natural cooling. When heating time is up,
turn off the heat and leave it for a while,
waiting for the pressure to reduce. When
the pressure indicator falls, the cooking is
over. Turn the knob and then take off the
lid.
2) Cooling down quickly. If you need it cooled
down quickly, put the cooker on a level
surface and slowly shower the cooker with
cold water till the pressure-limiting valve
falls (Fig.9, opening the lid is the same as
above). Avoid water owing into the cook-
er through the pressure-limiting valve.
• Never open the lid if the pressure indi-
cator doesn’t fall.
• After nishing cooking, please wear
gloves when opening the lid to avoid
burns from escaping steam/liquid.
• Never open the lid till the pressure-limit-
ing valve falls.
• When cooking pasty (doughy) food
such as porridge, gently shake the
cooker slightly before opening the lid to
avoid food ejection.
3. Adjust working pressure.
4. Heating
5. Turn off heat, release pressure completely
and then open the lid.
There are two ways to open after cooking:
Fig. 8
In order to raise the temperature quickly, heat
with high heat until the safety valve begins to
work. Take care not to use higher heat than if
necessary. It is normal for a little steam to seep
from the safety valve after heating for a while.
There should be no steam seeps after the safe-
ty valve rises and the cooker works normally.
When the safety valve rises and steam comes
out continuously and give off “squeak,” heat
should be lowered, at the same time allowing
the safety valve to release and starting to count
heating time.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
If you experience any problems with your pressure cooker, you should turn off the heat
immediately and take the cooker to a level surface and shower the cooker with cold water slowly
to reduce the temperature and the pressure. Find and solve the problem with the table below:
Problem Reason Solution
Steam comes out from the
underside of the lid.
Sealing ring is dirty. Clean the sealing ring,
cooker edge and lid.
The pressure limiting valve
of inside pipe is obstructed.
The safety function of the
safety valve is working. The
release hole of pressure-
limiting valve is blocked.
Take the cooker away
from the heat and dredge
the release hole. After
it is cool, take down the
pressure-limiting valve
and clean the hole of
pressure-limiting valve.
The safety function of the
sealing ring is working.
Maybe other device has
lost its function.
Take the cooker away
from the heat. After it is
cool, clean and check
all the safety devices.
Change the ones which
have lost their function.
Change the sealing ring. The sealing ring is aged and
has lost its function.
Sealing ring may have signs
of wear and tear.
Change the sealing ring.
The safety valve has lost its
function. Change valve.
Possible damaged lid. Change the lid.Lid won’t fix properly.
Steam and liquid leaks
from the safety valve
suddenly.
When cooking, the
sealing ring is suddenly
forced out from the
decompression window
and steam drains out.

MAINTENANCE
Please clean the pressure cooker, add water
and heat half an hour before rst use, to elimi-
nate odor.
1. Maintenance of the cooker:
1) Clean away the dirt.
2) Then wipe off the water and keep the
cooker dry.
3) Don’t scrape the cooker surface with hard
materials such as metal to avoid abrasion.
4) Don’t touch the cooker with other kinds of
metal to avoid of chemical corrosion.
5) Don’t store food inside the cooker for long
periods of time.
2. Maintenance of the sealing ring(Fig.10)
1) Remove the sealing ring from the lid.
Clean away the dirt from the ring and the
lid with hot water or detergent.
2) Wipe off the water and dry straight away
to prevent rust.
3) Put the sealing ring back on the lid.
4) It’s advised you replace the sealing ring
every 1-2 years - immediately if there is
obvious signs of wear and tear/damage.
3. Maintenance of the safety valve, and the
steam-releasing pipe both belong to pres-
sure-limiting valve operation parts.
Check the steam-releasing pipe and the
safety valve. If either is blocked, clean it
and then wash and rinse the pipe with
water.
Special dismantling as follows: (Fig.11)
1) Steam-releasing pipe: Take out the
pressure valve by hand and clean it as
illustrated on Fig.12.
2) The safety valve: Wash it as illustrated
on Fig. 13
Caution: Do not lose small parts such as
pressure-limiting valve. There is no problem if
the color of the small sealing ring changed. It
is suggested to change the sealing ring once
every 1-2 years according the usage frequen-
cy. But it must be changed immediately if
there is any damage or shape change. Please
contact your dealer or the sales department of
our company for replacement parts. Never use
substitutes.
Storing: Put the body and lid separately in a
cool place.

1. Q: How does the Zanussi Pressure Cooker
work?
A: Heating the cooker with high heat till
steam sprays out from pressure-limiting
valve. Change the heat from strong to gentle
when steam starts to spray out from pres-
sure-limiting valve. Let the pressure inside
the cooker reduce naturally. Too high heat
will make water over-evaporate and caused
the food to burn inside the cooker.
2. Q: It’s my rst time of using a pressure cook-
er, what do I do?
A: Check if the cooking time is controlled
properly.
Check if the pressure-limiting valve is placed
properly.
Check if the heat is not too strong or too
weak.
Check if the volume of water is correct.
Check if the pressure is correct or not. (Is
there any steam spraying out from pres-
sure-limiting valve or not?)
3. Q: What is heating time?
A: Time begins when steam starts spraying
out from pressure-limiting valve.
4. Q: Does different material need different
heating time?
A: The maximum volume of the food to be
cooked is below 2/3 of the depth of the
cooker. Beans are below 1/4. Cooking
material has nothing to do with cooking
time. Likewise, the volume of the cooker has
nothing to do with cooking time.
5. Q: Why does the rice turn grey?
A: Cooking under high temperature and high
pressure, the amino acid and saccharides
are decomposed by the heat. Thus, foods
containing rich protein and carbohydrates
may change color to grey. But it is harmless
and the taste will not change.
6. Q: After heating, soya-bean milk mixed with
sugar sprays out from the safety valve?
A: When heating, liquid food mixed with
thick sugar will spray out from the safety
valve because of the high pressure steam
inside the cooker. When cooking this kind
of food, don’t cook with pressure on, which
means don’t turn the pressure-limiting valve
on.(A little time to be enough)
7. Q: What to do in case cooker is ‘burnt-dry’?
A: Turn off the heat immediately, take the
cooker away from the heat and let it cool
naturally. Don’t pour water onto the cooker.
8. Q: What do I do if I noticed a fault with my
pressure cooker?
A: Any abnormality with your pressure
cooker should not be ignored. If you think
something is not right, remove the pressure
cooker from its heat source
immediately.
