Green dot: The sensor is working properly
Red dot: The sensor is not able to reach the
Gateway.
• Please check the battery status;
• Please check that the serial number has been
entered correctly
• In case of a weak or a bad signal, change the
location of the ZigBoat™ Smoke Alarm Sensor
“OK”: No smoke detected
“ALARM”: The sensor detects smoke and
will send push notication if the gateway is
connected to internet

WALL PLACEMENT
TheSmokeAlarmSensorshouldbebetween
30cm(12”)and50cm(20”)fromtheceiling.
CEILING PLACEMENT
Thesmokealarmshouldbeaminimumof50
cm(20”)fromthewall.
There should be at least one smoke alarm
sensor per area with a maximum distance of
10meters(30’)betweensmokealarmsensors.
Mounting
1. Detach the alarm from the mounting base
bytwistingcounter-clockwise.
2. Use the mounting base ring to mark the
screwholesontheceilingoronthewall.
3. Use enclosed screws and plugs to install
themountingbaseinthemarkedposition.
4.Ifthebatteryismissingorinsertedincorrectly,
it will be impossible to attach the alarm in
themountingbase.
5.Attachthealarmbytwistingclockwiseuntil
itclicks.
Placement
• PlacetheSmokeAlarmSensorindoorsata
temperaturebetween0-50°C(32-122°F).
• Thedistancebetweenthesmokealarmand
walls,ventilationorotherobstacles,should
beatleast50cm(20”).
• The distance between the Alarm Sensor
andan ovenor cookershould be atleast 4
meters.
• The alarm should be placed within reach
forbatterytestingandmaintenance.
• Thealarmshouldnotbeplacedatthetop
ofhighpointedceilingsorinceilingcorners
orwithin50cm(20”)ofawall.
2. Tondtheserialnumberdetachthesensor
mountbase.
3. You can change the devices name by
selecting “Name” (g. 4). Then, press the
button“AddDevice”
4. Insert the battery (1xCR123) taking note of
polarity.

Thesmoke alarmsensorwillwarn occupants
when smoke is detected by sounding a loud
siren. While away from the boat, the system
willalsosendaninstantnoticationofpotential
rethroughthegateway.
UsingtheZigbeecommunicationprotocol,the
smoke alarm sensor can also activate other
smokealarmsensorsandtheirsirensonboard.
Precautions
• Do not remove the product label as it
containsimportantinformation.
• Donotpaintthealarm.
• Avoid placing the Smoke Alarm Sensor in
dustyrooms.
• Donot placethe sensorin placeswhereit
is damp or has naturally occurring gas or
smoke.

Adding the sensor to the Gateway
NOTE:  Make sure the Gateway is turned on
and congurated, for more details see the
Gatewayownermanual.
1. OpentheZigBoat™App,selecttheGateway
in the ZB Gateways menu, waiting a few
seconds. then select the menu button on
the top right (g. 1) Select “Device list” (g.
2). Add the sensor by entering the serial
numberwhichisonthesensor’slabel(g.3).

Disposal
Dispose the product and battery properly at
the end of life. This is electronicwastewhich
shouldberecycled.
1. To replace the battery, detach the smoke
alarmfromthe mountingbasebytwisting
counter-clockwise.
2. Replacethebatterynotingthepolarity.The
SmokeAlarmSensoruses1xCR123battery.
3. Attachthe alarmin themounting baseby
twisting clockwise until it clicks, and test
thealarm.

Battery replacement
CAUTION: When removing cover for battery
change - Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) can
harmelectroniccomponentsinside.
CAUTION: RISK OF EXPLOSION IF BATTERIES
ARE REPLACED BY AN INCORRECT TYPE.
DISPOSE OF THE BATTERIES IN ACCORD-
ANCE WITH INSTRUCTIONS.
Resetting
Resetting is needed it you want to connect
yourSmokeAlarmSensortoanothergateway
or if you need to perform a factory reset to
eliminateabnormalbehavior.
STEPS FOR RESETTING
1. Detachthesensorfromthemountingbase
bytwistingitcounterclockwise.
2. PressandholdtheLEDbuttonuntilitashes
continuously.
3. Releasethebutton.
4. Resettingprocessiscompletewhenthered
LEDstartstoblink.
Modes
SEARCHING GATEWAY MODE
Red LED light in the back of the device is
ashingeverysecond(upto15minutes)
NORMAL MODE
FrontLEDisashingevery45seconds.
ALARM MODE
ThesimultaneousashingofthefrontredLED
andsoundingofintermittentaudiblesignal.
Whensmokeisdetected,thealarmwillsound.
Fault nding & cleaning
• Dust particles in the smoke chamber can
beremovedbyvacuumingthemesh.
• High humidity condensation can be
resolvedbydryingthesmokealarmsensor.
• If the smoke alarm sensor does not work
when the test button is pushed, the
probablecauseisafaultybattery.Replace
thebatteryifitiswornout.
• In case of a bad or weak signal, change
the location of the smoke alarm sensor.
Otherwiseyoucanrelocateyourgateway.
• Ifthesearchforthegatewayhastimedout,
ashortpressontheLEDbuttonwillrestartit.

Testing
• Always test the working order of the
Smoke Alarm Sensor after installation or
batterychange.
• When pressing the sensor button, the
alarmsoundshouldbeheard.
• Anetworkalarmtestcanbeperformedby
holdingdownthesensorbuttonforatleast
6.5seconds.
Press the “button/top” of the Alarm Sensor
to acknowledge and stop the siren.  For 10
minutes after the alarm has been silenced,
there will be no additional alarms to allow
ventilationofthesmokebeingdetected.
LOW BATTERY MODE
Simultaneous audible signals and front LED
ashes every 45 seconds, means that the
batteryshouldbereplaced.
REPLACE DEVICE MODE
IftherearenoaudiblesignalsorthefrontLED
does not ash every 45 seconds, the sensor
should be replaced. The life expectancy of
smoke alarm sensors is generally 10 years,
after which point their sensors begin to lose
sensitivity.
