Green dot: The sensor is working properly
Red dot: The sensor is not able to reach the
Gateway.
• Please check the battery status;
• Please check that the serial number has been
entered correctly
• In case of a weak or a bad signal, change the
location of the ZigBoat™ Smoke Alarm Sensor
“OK”: No smoke detected
“ALARM”: The sensor detects smoke and
will send push notication if the gateway is
connected to internet

WALL PLACEMENT
TheSmokeAlarmSensorshouldbebetween
30cm(12”)and50cm(20”)fromtheceiling.
CEILING PLACEMENT
Thesmokealarmshouldbeaminimumof50
cm(20”)fromthewall.
There should be at least one smoke alarm
sensor per area with a maximum distance of
10meters(30’)betweensmokealarmsensors.
Mounting
1. Detach the alarm from the mounting base
bytwistingcounter-clockwise.
2. Use the mounting base ring to mark the
screwholesontheceilingoronthewall.
3. Use enclosed screws and plugs to install
themountingbaseinthemarkedposition.
4.Ifthebatteryismissingorinsertedincorrectly,
it will be impossible to attach the alarm in
themountingbase.
5.Attachthealarmbytwistingclockwiseuntil
itclicks.
Placement
• PlacetheSmokeAlarmSensorindoorsata
temperaturebetween0-50°C(32-122°F).
• Thedistancebetweenthesmokealarmand
walls,ventilationorotherobstacles,should
beatleast50cm(20”).
• The distance between the Alarm Sensor
andan ovenor cookershould be atleast 4
meters.
• The alarm should be placed within reach
forbatterytestingandmaintenance.
• Thealarmshouldnotbeplacedatthetop
ofhighpointedceilingsorinceilingcorners
orwithin50cm(20”)ofawall.
2. Tondtheserialnumberdetachthesensor
mountbase.
3. You can change the devices name by
selecting “Name” (g. 4). Then, press the
button“AddDevice”
4. Insert the battery (1xCR123) taking note of
polarity.

Thesmoke alarmsensorwillwarn occupants
when smoke is detected by sounding a loud
siren. While away from the boat, the system
willalsosendaninstantnoticationofpotential
rethroughthegateway.
UsingtheZigbeecommunicationprotocol,the
smoke alarm sensor can also activate other
smokealarmsensorsandtheirsirensonboard.
Precautions
• Do not remove the product label as it
containsimportantinformation.
• Donotpaintthealarm.
• Avoid placing the Smoke Alarm Sensor in
dustyrooms.
• Donot placethe sensorin placeswhereit
is damp or has naturally occurring gas or
smoke.

Adding the sensor to the Gateway
NOTE: Make sure the Gateway is turned on
and congurated, for more details see the
Gatewayownermanual.
1. OpentheZigBoat™App,selecttheGateway
in the ZB Gateways menu, waiting a few
seconds. then select the menu button on
the top right (g. 1) Select “Device list” (g.
2). Add the sensor by entering the serial
numberwhichisonthesensor’slabel(g.3).

Disposal
Dispose the product and battery properly at
the end of life. This is electronicwastewhich
shouldberecycled.
1. To replace the battery, detach the smoke
alarmfromthe mountingbasebytwisting
counter-clockwise.
2. Replacethebatterynotingthepolarity.The
SmokeAlarmSensoruses1xCR123battery.
3. Attachthe alarmin themounting baseby
twisting clockwise until it clicks, and test
thealarm.

Battery replacement
CAUTION: When removing cover for battery
change - Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) can
harmelectroniccomponentsinside.
CAUTION: RISK OF EXPLOSION IF BATTERIES
ARE REPLACED BY AN INCORRECT TYPE.
DISPOSE OF THE BATTERIES IN ACCORD-
ANCE WITH INSTRUCTIONS.
Resetting
Resetting is needed it you want to connect
yourSmokeAlarmSensortoanothergateway
or if you need to perform a factory reset to
eliminateabnormalbehavior.
STEPS FOR RESETTING
1. Detachthesensorfromthemountingbase
bytwistingitcounterclockwise.
2. PressandholdtheLEDbuttonuntilitashes
continuously.
3. Releasethebutton.
4. Resettingprocessiscompletewhenthered
LEDstartstoblink.
Modes
SEARCHING GATEWAY MODE
Red LED light in the back of the device is
ashingeverysecond(upto15minutes)
NORMAL MODE
FrontLEDisashingevery45seconds.
ALARM MODE
ThesimultaneousashingofthefrontredLED
andsoundingofintermittentaudiblesignal.
Whensmokeisdetected,thealarmwillsound.
Fault nding & cleaning
• Dust particles in the smoke chamber can
beremovedbyvacuumingthemesh.
• High humidity condensation can be
resolvedbydryingthesmokealarmsensor.
• If the smoke alarm sensor does not work
when the test button is pushed, the
probablecauseisafaultybattery.Replace
thebatteryifitiswornout.
• In case of a bad or weak signal, change
the location of the smoke alarm sensor.
Otherwiseyoucanrelocateyourgateway.
• Ifthesearchforthegatewayhastimedout,
ashortpressontheLEDbuttonwillrestartit.

Testing
• Always test the working order of the
Smoke Alarm Sensor after installation or
batterychange.
• When pressing the sensor button, the
alarmsoundshouldbeheard.
• Anetworkalarmtestcanbeperformedby
holdingdownthesensorbuttonforatleast
6.5seconds.
Press the “button/top” of the Alarm Sensor
to acknowledge and stop the siren. For 10
minutes after the alarm has been silenced,
there will be no additional alarms to allow
ventilationofthesmokebeingdetected.
LOW BATTERY MODE
Simultaneous audible signals and front LED
ashes every 45 seconds, means that the
batteryshouldbereplaced.
REPLACE DEVICE MODE
IftherearenoaudiblesignalsorthefrontLED
does not ash every 45 seconds, the sensor
should be replaced. The life expectancy of
smoke alarm sensors is generally 10 years,
after which point their sensors begin to lose
sensitivity.
