Function Description
Key Instruction

• Make or answer a call.
• Press Send key in standby mode to
show all the call records.
• Press Send key two times to call the
top number of the call list directly.
• End an active call or reject a call.
• Hold this key to Power on/Power off.
• Exit from any interface to standby
mode.
• Enter Menu in standby mode.
• Switch to the options of left bottom
submenu.
• Browse the service provider home
page in standby mode.
• Perform the options of right bottom
submenu.
• Erase character(s) while editing text.
• Cancel the current operation, go
back to the previous window.
• Reject the incoming call by pressing
Right select key twice.
• Press OK key to confirm the com-
mands and options selected.
• Activate/inactivate the freehand func-
tion by pressing OK key while mak-
ing a call.

• Scroll the cursor up and down.
• Used as selection key up and down
for keying in commands and select-
ing options shown on the screen.
• In standby mode, press Up key to
enter the Prole menu, press Down
key to create a new message.
• Used as direction key in games.
• Scroll the cursor left and right.
• In standby mode, press Left key to en-
ter the Games menu, press Right key
to enter the BAM menu.
• Used as direction key in games.
• Enter numbers or characters while
editing text.
• Make a Speed Dial call(2~9).
• Hold 0key to input + in standby mode.
• Press 0 key to insert a space while
editing messages, excluding the
numbers input mode.
• Press 1key to insert common sym-
bols while editing text, excluding the
numbers input mode.
#key:
• Press #key to change the input
mode while editing text.
*key:
• Hold *key in standby mode to lock
the keypad.
• Press *key to display the symbols
window in the text input mode.

Notes:
In this guide, “press” key means to press the key and release it; “hold”
key means to keep pressing the key for two seconds or more.

Icon Description
Insert UIM Card
1. Power off the phone and remove other external power.
2. Take off the back cover and remove the battery of the phone.
3. Insert UIM card into the UIM card slot in the phone, please refer
to the following picture.

The attached Li-ion battery along with the phone can be used after
unpacking. For the rst three times, please use up the power and
charge it fully for a new battery to perform well.
Install the Battery
1. Put the battery in the battery
compartment, note that the metal
end of the battery should be firstly
inserted.

Charge the Battery
1. Connect the charger with phone
shown as below.
2. Put nger on the side nger grip, and
then lift up the battery from the nger
grip to remove the battery, please refer
to the following picture.
Power on/off Your Phone
1. Hold the End key to power on the phone. The phone will auto-
matically search for the network.
2. When the phone is powered on, hold the End key to power off
the phone.
2. Connect the charger to a standard wall AC socket.
3. When the charging animation on the screen stops, the charging
is completed. The charging will usually take 2 ~3 hours. During
this process, it is a normal phenomenon that the battery, phone
and charger may get hot.
4. Disconnect the charger from the phone and AC socket after the
process being completed.

Message
Make or Answer a Call
1. Press Left select key to enter the menu interface, select Mes-
sages > New Message or press Down key in standby mode to
create a new message.
2. Input the destination number (you can input the multi-number),
press Down key to the text eld, edit the message text.
3. Press OK key to send the message.
• Select Inbox to view messages received.
• Select Voice Mail to view the voice mail you received.
• Select Drafts to view the draft you saved.
• Select Outbox to view the unsent messages.
• Select Sent to view the sent messages.
• Select Deferred to view the delayed messages.
• Select Message Settings to set the message conguration.
• Select Message Template to view or edit the default text.
• Select Delete Message to delete the inbox, outbox, sent, drafts,
deferred messages or all of them.
• Select Memory Status to view the memory information of mes-
sage box.
Make a call
1. Enter the phone number.
2. Press Send key to make the call.
3. Press End key to end the call.
Answer a call
There is an incoming call.
1. Press Send key to answer the call.
2. Press End key to end or reject the call.

Phone Code
Phone code could prevent your phone from illegal using. The default
handset password is 0000. Change it to your own phone password
as soon as possible.
Menu Code
Menu code could prevent your phonebook, messages and call his-
tory from illegal using. The default menu code is 000000. Change it
to your own password as soon as possible.
Notes:
Remember the handset password; otherwise some service expense
may happen.
PIN code and PUK code
Handset Lock
Notes:
PIN code and PUK code may be offered together with the UIM card.
If not, please contact with network operator. Change default PIN
code to your own as soon as possible.
PIN Code
PIN Code: PIN code could prevent your UIM card from illegal use.
When PIN lock is on, you should enter the PIN code when opening
the handset again.
PUK Code
PUK Code: The UIM card will be locked if you enter a wrong PIN
code consecutively for three times. You need PUK code to unlock it.

Operation Method
Multitap Input — “Abc/abc/ABC” press cor-
responding letter key till the letter appears.
eHiText Input — “eZi”, press any key once
to key in any word
Numbers Input — “123”, press digit key
once.
Symbols Input — Press * key to enter the
symbols mode and press corresponding
digit key.
Or press “1” key till the symbol (common
symbols) appears except for numbers input
mode.
Press “0” key, except for the numbers input
mode.
Press Right select key.
Press Left/Right/Up/Down key.
Press #key to select another text mode.

Your phone offers text input modes: Multitap Input (Abc/abc/ABC),
eZiText Input(eZi), Numbers Input (123) and Symbol Input (Sym-
bols).

Warning and Maintenance
• Keep the phone out of the reach of little children. The phone
may cause injury if used as a toy.
• Please use original accessories or accessories that are autho-
rized by the manufacturer.
• Please keep the phone dry and store the phone in the shady
and cool place.
• Do not expose your mobile phone to direct sunlight or store it in
hot areas. High temperatures can shorten the life of electronic
devices.
• Prevent liquid from seeping into your phone.
• Do not drop or harshly treat the phone. Rough handling can
break internal circuit boards.
• Do not connect the phone with other unauthorized peripheral
equipments.

• Do not attempt to dismantle the mobile phone and battery by
yourself.
• Power off your phone before you clean the phone. Please use
clean fabric that is anti-static to clean your phone.
• As your mobile phone can produce electromagnetic eld, do not
use the phone near electrical appliances.
• Do not charge the mobile phone without battery.
• Beware of the usage limitation when using a mobile phone at
places such as oil warehouses or chemical factories.
• The user is cautioned that changes or modifications not ex-
pressly approved by the manufacturer could void the user’s
authority to operate the equipment.
Limited Warranty
The warranty does not apply to defects or errors in the product
caused by:
• Reasonable abrasion.
• Misuse including mishandling, physical damage, improper in-
stallation, unauthorized disassembly of the product.
• Water or any other liquid damage.
• Any unauthorized repair or modication.
• Power surges, lightning damage, re, ood or other events out-
side ZTE’s reasonable control.
• Use of the product with any unauthorized third party products
such as generic chargers.
• Any other cause beyond the range of normal usage for prod-
ucts.

End User shall have no right to reject, return, or receive a refund for
any product from ZTE under the above-mentioned situations.
This warranty is end user’s sole remedy and ZTE’s sole liability for
defective or nonconforming items, and is in lieu of all other war-
ranties, expressed, implied or statutory, including but not limited to
the implied warranties of merchantability and tness for a particular
purpose, unless otherwise required under the mandatory provisions
of the law.
Limitation of Liability
ZTE shall not be liable for any loss of prots or indirect, special,
incidental or consequential damages resulting from or arising out
of or in connection with using of this product, whether or not ZTE
has been advised, knew or should have known of the possibility of
such damages, including, but not limited to lost prots, interruption
of business, cost of capital, cost of substitute facilities or product, or
any downtime cost.
