or abnormal operation of software might be caused by incompatibility of the third-party

2-3 Screen Control
Youcan control your phone through aseries ofoperationsonthescreen.
- Touch: select an item oroption on the screen,or open an application.
- Slide: swipe left/right or up/down on the screen to move what’s on the screen.
- Pressandhold: pressyourfingerdownandleaveitthereforafewsecondstoopena
menu specific to what you’re doing.
- Drag: drag some items on the screen toaccomplish certain operations.
- Pinch orstretch: insome applications(e.g.,Gallery,Browser),pinch two fingers
togetheronthescreenorstretchthemaparttozoomoutorin.
- Rotate: in most screens, rotate your phone sideways to switch the screen from portrait
modetolandscapemode.
2-4 Home Screen
The home screen appears when the phone isinidle mode.Onthe homescreen,youcan
check the status ofyour phone and access applications.
Extendhomescreen
The home screen can be extended to exceed the width ofthe screen to provide more space
for newly added applications, shortcuts, widgets,etc.
Slide left/right on the home screen to move to another section ofthe home screen.
Touchoneofthesmalldotsatthelowerpartofthescreentodirectlymovetotherelevant
screen.Press and hold the small dot area and drag to quickly navigate.
Quicklaunchtoolbar
There are four icons at the bottom of the screen.You can move the applications or shortcuts
that you need to access most frequently into the quick launch toolbar.
1. Pressandholdanicononthetoolbaranddragittotheareaoutsidethetoolbar.
2. Pressandholdanothericononthescreenyouwanttomove,andthendragittoanempty
area inside the toolbar.
Show/hidenotification bar
When a new notification icon appears in the notification bar,you can pull down the
notificationbartoviewthelistofnotificationsandyoucantouchanotificationtoperforman
operation.Swipeupfromthebottomofthescreentohidethenotificationbar.
Moveiconsonhomescreen
Tomoveanicononthehomescreen,pressandholdtheiconyouwanttomove,dragitto
yourdesiredpositiononthescreenandreleaseit.Dragtheicontothenavigationbarwith
dots to quickly switch to another screen.
Pressandholdtheiconyouwanttomoveandreleaseittomakeitjumptothebottomofthe
screen.Slideleftorrighttothetargetscreenandtouchtheiconatthebottomofthescreen
tomakeitjumptothetargetscreen.

Deleteiconsonhomescreen
To uninstall an application or remove a widget, press and hold the “Application” or“Widget”
iconanddragittothe“Remove/Uninstall”iconatthetopofthescreen.
Note:Thepreinstalledsystemapplicationscannotberemoved.
Changedesktopwallpaper
On the home screen,press the“Menu” key (bottom left corner of the phone),then
“Wallpaper” to choose a wallpaper.
Changedesktoptheme
On the home screen,touch “ThemeManager” tochoose a theme.
Accessrecentlyusedapplications
Pressandholdthe“Home Screen”key(bottommiddleofthephone)toopenalistofmost
recently used applications.Toucha thumbnail to enter the relevant application,swipe up
onanapplicationthumbnailtoremovetheapplicationfromthelist,andswipedownonan
application thumbnail to lock/unlock the application.Touch the round icon at the lower part
of the screen to clear the list.The locked applications won’t be removed.
Useshortcutspanel
On the home screen or in the process of using an application, pull down the notification bar
to open the shortcuts panel.Touch the shortcut icons to perform the related actions.
Create a folder and put items into the folder
1. Onthehomescreen,pressandholdaniconanddragittoanothericononthescreento
create a folder containing these two icons.
2. Pressandholdothericonsanddragthemtothefoldertoadditemstothefolder.
2-5 Lock&UnlocktheScreen
Lockthescreen
Press the “Power” key to lock the screen.The phone will automatically lock the screen after
it’snotusedforapre-chosenamountoftime.
Lockscreen photo
Whenthescreenislocked,pressthe“Power”keytolightupthescreen.
Ifthe“Lockscreen Photo” functionisenabled,slidetwofingerstotheleftorrightonanypart
ofthe screen to display the lockscreen photos.
Touchthescreentostopthemplaying.Slideleftorrighttoviewphotos,andtouchthe
screen again to resume auto-play.
Toexitfromthelockscreenphoto,touchthe“Home Screen”keyor“Back” key,orslidetwo
fingerstotheleftorright.
Pressthe“Menu” key>“System Settings”>“Features”>“Lockscreen Photo”toenable/
disable lockscreen photo,set Play interval and select the folder.

Show Music widget
When the screen is locked, press the “Power” key to light up the screen,and double-touch
the“HomeScreen”keytodisplaytheMusicwidget.
Unlockthescreen
1. Pressthe“Power”keytolightupthescreen.
2. Dragthe“Unlock” iconto“Unlock”tounlockthescreen,anddragthe“Unlock” iconto
“Unlock to Camera” to directly enter the camera interface.
ChangeScreenLockmethod
1. Onthehomescreen,pressthe“Menu”key>“SystemSettings”>“Security”>“ScreenLock.”

3 Calls
3-1 MakeaCall
Directlymakeacall
On the home screen, touch the “Phone” icon to display the dialing keypad.Touch the numeric
buttons to enter telephone numbers and touch the buttontomakeacall.
Youcantouchthefirstletterofacontact’snameonthedialingkeypadtoquicklysearchfor
thecontact.Forexample,ifyouwanttocallJohn,enter5(JKL)-6(MNO)-4(GHI)-6(MNO).
Makeacallfromcontacts
Onthehomescreen,touchthe“Contacts”icon,touchthecontactyouwanttocallandtouch
the buttontomakeacall.
Makeacallfromthecalllogs
Onthehomescreen,touchthe“Phone”icon,selectacallinthelogandtouchittomakeacall.
Make an international call
On the home screen, touch the “Phone” icon to display the dialing keypad, press and hold
the“0” keyuntil“+” appearsonthescreen,andthendialthecountry/regioncode,citycode
andphonenumber.
Make a call from messaging
1. On the home screen,touch the “Messaging” icon to open the messaging interface.
2. Toucha message to openit.
3. Touchthe icontoviewthedetailsofthemessagesenderandtouchthe button to
call the sender.

Speeddial
On the dialing keypad, press and hold one ofthe number keys that you previously assigned
to a contact to quickly call the corresponding contact.
Toassignanumbertoacontact,touchandholdoneofthekeysandfollowtheprompts.
3-2 Call Settings
1. On the home screen, touch the“Phone” icon to display the dialing keypad.
2. Pressthe“Menu” key>“Call Settings” tosetuptheoptionsforcalling.Inthe“Additional
Settings” menu,youcan setupFixedDialingNumbers,CallForwardingandCallWaiting.
3-3 Answer a Call
Thephonewillringorvibrate(dependingonthecurrentmodeandsettings)foran incomingcall.
- Ifthescreenisunlocked,touchthe“Answer”iconto answerthecallontheincomingcallinterface.
- Ifthescreenislocked,dragthe iconandswipeuptoanswerthecallontheincomingcall
interface.
- Ifyou’veactivated“MotionAnswer,”youcanputthephonenearyoureartodirectly
answer the call.
3-4 Reject a Call
Screen unlocked
Ontheincomingcallinterface,touchthe“Decline”icontorejectthecall.
Ifyouwanttopolitelyrejectthecall,youcantouchthe“Send SMS” icontosendatext
message.
Screen locked
On the incoming call interface, drag the iconto“Reject Call” torejectthecall.
Ifyouwanttopolitelyrejectthecall,youcandragthe icon down farther to“Send SMS.”
3-5 EndaCall
Duringacall,touchthe“End” icontoendthecall.
3-6 OptionsDuringaCall
Adjustthevolume
During a call,press the volume key to adjust the volume.
Dialpad
During a call, touch the “Dialpad” icon to display the dialing keypad for easy operations.

Speaker
Duringacall,touchthe“Speaker”icontoenterthehands-freemodeandtouchtheicon
againtoresume.
Mute
Touchthe“Mute”icontoturnoffthemicrophonesotheotherpartyisunabletohearyour
voice.Touchtheiconagaintoturnmuteoff.
Addcall
Duringacall,pressthe“Menu” key>“Add Call” tomutethephoneandcallanothernumber.
Youthencanswapbetweenthetwocallsbytouching“Swap Calls”orcombinethemintoa
conference call by touching “Merge Calls.” The function requires the support of the network
operator.
Record
Duringacall,pressthe“Menu” key>“Record.”
3-7 Call Log
1. On the home screen, touch the“Phone” icon.
2. Thecalllogisdisplayedonthescreen.Ifyouwanttoclearthecalllog,pressthe“Menu”
key>“Clear CallLog.”
3-8 Voicemail
Note: Prior to accessing the voicemail server,you must save the voicemail server number.
Please contact your network operator to get the number.
Setupvoicemail
1. On the home screen, touch the“Phone” icon to display the dialing keypad.
2. Pressthe“Menu” key>“Call Settings” >“Voicemail” >“Setup.”
3. Touch“Voicemail Number” to change the number.
Listentovoicemail
On the home screen, touch the “Phone” icon to display the dialing keypad, then press and
holdthe“1” keytolistentovoicemail.

4 Contacts
4-1 CreateNewContact
1. On the home screen, touch the “Contacts” icon and select “New Contact.”
2. Enter the information for the new contact.
3. Select the storage location under“Save To.”
4. Touch“Done” to save.
4-2 Search Contacts
After you enter “Contacts,” all contacts will be arranged in alphabetical order.
1. Swipeup/downtoscrollthelistofcontacts.Youcanalsoquicklyscrollthelistbydragging
your fingers along the right index.
2. Touch“Quick Search,”andtouchthefirstletterofacontact’snametoquicklylocatethe
contact.Touch“FindContacts”atthetopofthescreenandenteracontact’snameto
quickly find the contact.
3. Touchacontact’snametoviewthedetailsofthecontact.
4. When a contact is open,you can touch tocallthemandtouch tosenda message
to them.
4-3 AddtoFavorites
1. Enter “Contacts” and select the contact you want to add to favorites.
2. Touch “Star.”
3. On the contacts interface, all favorite contacts are displayed at the top ofthe screen.
Note:Youcan only add the contacts stored inthe phone to favorites.
4-4 Contacts Group
1. Enter “Contacts” and touch the “Group” icon.
2. Touchthe“Create Group” icon.
3. Enter a name for the group.
4. Touch“Default Ring”tosettheringtoneforthegroup,andenteracontact’snameor
touch toselectfromthelistofcontacts.
5. Touch“Done.”
6. Openagroupandtouch“Text”or“Email” atthebottomofthescreentosendatext
message or Email to all of the group members.
Note: Youcan only add the contacts stored inthe phone toaGroup.

4-5 Delete aContact
1. Enter“Contacts”andpressthe“Menu”key>“Delete Contact.”
2. Touchthe contact(s) you want to delete and touch “OK.”
4-6 EditaContact
1. Enter “Contacts” and select the contact you want to edit.
2. Touchthe“Edit” iconatthebottomofthescreen.
4-7 Scan Business Card
1. Enter “Contacts” and touch the “Scan” icon.
2. Center the business card in the viewfinder,touch the shutter button and the icon to
display the information from the business card on the screen.
3. Touch“Done.”
4-8 ShareaContact
You can share a contact with others.
1. Enter “Contacts” and select the contact you want to share with others.
2. Touch the “Share” icon.
4-9 Import&ExportContacts
YoucanmovecontactsfromtheSDcardtothephoneorfromthephonetotheSDcard.
1. Enter “Contacts.”
2. Press the “Menu” key > “Advanced” and select from “Import/Export Contacts.”
5 Messaging
5-1 Send Messages
1. On the home screen,touch the“Messaging” icon to enter the messaging interface, and
touch the “Create” icon.
2. Typeaphonenumberintothe“To”field.
- For multiple numbers,please separate them with a comma.
- Youcanalsotouchthe icon to select your desiredphone number from Contacts.
3. Typethe message text into the “Typemessage” field.Touchthe icontoinsertan
Emoticon,Picture,Video,Audio,PhraseorSubject.
4. Touch tosend themessage.

Thereisanotificationinthenotificationbaruponthereceiptofanewmessage.Youcanpull
downthenotificationbarandtouchamessagetoviewit.
5-3 DeleteMessages
Inthe messaging interface,press and hold a message thread,then select the message
thread(s)youwanttodelete,andtouchthe“Delete”iconatthebottomofthescreen.
5-4 Message Settings
Onthemessaginginterface,pressthe“Menu”key>“Settings”tochoosesettingsrelatedto
messages.
6 Email
6-1 SetUpanEmailAccount
1. On the home screen, touch “Email.”
2. Enter your Email address and password and touch“Next.”
3. Follow the prompts on the screen.
6-2 Check Emails
1. IfyouhavesetupyourEmailaccount,touch“Email”toentertheinboxofthisaccount.
2. IfyouwanttocheckEmailsofmoreaccounts,select“Settings”>“AddAccount.”
3. Touchtheaccount’snameatthetopofthescreentoselecttheaccountyouwantto
check.Touch“Combined View” tocheckalloftheEmailaccountsyou’ve setupinone inbox.
4. Scrollthe screenand checktheEmails.
6-3 SendanEmail
1. On the Email interface, touch the “Compose” icon.
2. Typetherecipient’s addressintothe“To”fieldortouchthe icon to select a recipient
fromthelistofcontacts.
3. IfyouneedtosendaCCorBCC,pressthe“Menu”key>“AddCC/BCC.”
4. Touch“Subject” to enter the Email subject.
5. Touchthebodyofthemessagetoenterthetext.
6. Ifyouwanttoattachafile,touchthe“Attach File” icon.
7. Touch“Send”tosendtheEmailorpressthe“Menu” key>“Save Draft”tosavetheEmail
asadraft.

7 Network Applications
7-1 Data Connection
Yourphone can connect to the internet.
Pulldownthenotificationbartoshowtheshortcutspanel,andtouch“Data”toenableor
disablethedataconnection.
Onthehomescreen,youcanalsopressthe“Menu” key>“System Settings” >“More” >
“Mobile Networks” to perform detailed settings for data connection.
Note:Youmay need topay for some data service.Fordetails, please consult your network
serviceprovider.
Ifyoudon’twanttousethemobilenetworkfordata,pleasepromptlydisabledata
connectiontoavoidunnecessarycharges.
7-2 Wi-Fi
Yourphone can connect to the internet through a wireless access point orWi-Fi hotspot.
TurnonWi-Fi
1. Onthehomescreen,pressthe“Menu” key>“System Settings.”
2. Dragthebuttonnextto“Wi-Fi” totherighttoturniton,thentouch“Wi-Fi.”
3. Yourphone willautomatically search for available wireless access points.
4. Select an access point from the list.
- Ifyou’ve selectedan open network,yourphonewillautomaticallyconnecttothenetwork.
- If you’ve selected a secure network, your phone will connect to the network after you
enter the correct password.
Manually add Wi-Fi
1. Onthehomescreen,pressthe“Menu” key>“System Settings” >“Wi-Fi.”
2. Touchthe “Add Network” icon,enter the network SSID and select the security type.
3. Touch“Show Advanced Options” to perform further settings.
4. Touch“Save.”
7-3 Tethering&PortableHotspot
TetheringWi-Fihotspot
1. Onthehomescreen,pressthe“Menu” key>“System Settings” >“More.”
2. Touch“PortableWi-Fi Hotspot.”
3. Touch“Set Up Wi-Fi Hotspot” to set “Network SSID,”“Security” and “Password.”
4. Findyourphone’s network SSIDonother devicesandconnect.

USB tethering
Afterconnecting your phoneto the PC witha USB cable,you can useyourphone asa
modem to share the phone’s mobile network.
If your operating system isWindows 7 or Mac OS X,you can establish network connection
with the following method.If you use other operating systems,you may need to manually
establish a network connection.
1. ConnectyourphonetothePCwithaUSBcable.
2. Onthehomescreen,pressthe“Menu” key>“System Settings” >“More.”
3. Dragthebuttonbeside“USB Tethering”totherighttoturniton.
4. When tethered,you can access the internet on your computer through the phone’s
network.
Bluetooth tethering
1. Onthehomescreen,pressthe“Menu” key>“System Settings” >“More.”
2. Dragthebuttonbeside“BluetoothTethering”totherighttoturnitonandsharethemobile
network.
3. Make sure you have turned onBluetooth and chosen“Visible to all nearby Bluetooth
devices.” Scan for other devices. Pair and connect to one with your phone.
7-4 Browser
Open browser
1. On the home screen, touch the “Browser” icon.
2. Touchtheinputfieldatthetopofthescreenandenterawebsiteaddress.
3. Touch“Go.”
Browser options
Whenbrowsingawebpage,youcanslidetoviewotherpartsofthewebpage.
- Pinchyourfingerstogetheronthescreenorstretchthemaparttozoominorout.
- Double-touch the screen to return to the original size.The function might not be available
onsomepages.
- Pressthe“Menu” key>“Save toBookmarks”tobookmarkthecurrentwebpage.
- Select“Bookmarks” to open the saved bookmarks.
- Pressthe“Menu” key>“Share”tosendthewebsitetoothersorsharewithothers.
Browser settings
Onthebrowserinterface,pressthe“Menu”key>“Settings”formoreoptions.

7-5 Bluetooth Connection
WiththeBluetoothfunction,youcanexchangedatawith othernearby Bluetooth devices.
Since Bluetooth devices communicate through radio waves, there may beinterference due
toobstaclesor other electronic devices.
Turn on Bluetooth
1. Onthehomescreen,pressthe“Menu”key>“System Settings”>“Bluetooth.”
2. Dragthebuttonbeside“Bluetooth”totherighttoturnonBluetooth.
Search for devices and pair
1. Onthehomescreen,pressthe“Menu” key>“System Settings” >“Bluetooth” >“Search
for Devices.”
2. Selectadevice.
3. Touch“Pair” or enter the Bluetooth password and then touch “OK.”
After the pairing request is accepted by the other device or the same password isentered,
pairing is completed.
4. After pairing, these two devices can communicate within a short distance.
SenddataviaBluetooth
Youcan send music,soundrecordings,videos,calendarevents,contacts,etc.,via Bluetooth.
The process depends on what you send.Below isan example of sending a photo via
Bluetooth.
1. On the home screen, touch“Gallery.”
2. Open the photo you want to send.
3. Selectthe“Share” icon>“Bluetooth.”
4. Ifthereisaprompt“TurnonBluetoothNow?” onthescreen,touch“TurnOn.”
5. Selectapaireddeviceortouch“ScanforDevices.”Selectadevicefromthelisttopair
and send the file.
ReceivedataviaBluetooth
1. TurnonBluetoothandslidethebuttonnextto“OnlyVisibletoPairedDevices”tomakethe
phonevisible.
2. Open the notification bar,touch the Bluetooth share notification and touch“Accept” to
receive the file.
3. Afterthefileisreceived,thephonewilldisplayanotification.Ifyouwanttoviewthefile
immediately,open the notification bar and touch the relevant notification.

8 GPS
ThephonehasaGPSreceiversoyoucanturnonGPSserviceanduseGPSfunctions.
Pleasetrytouse GPSonsunnydays.GPSperformancecanbeaffectedbyfactors suchas
aceiling,rooforweather.Ifyouwanttogetthebestperformance,pleasetrytomovetoan
area where you can have a 360° panoramic view of the entire sky.Skyscrapers and walls
mightaffecttheGPSperformance.
Start GPS
Youcanreceive theinformation ofyour location and searchmaps only afterGPSserviceis
enabled.
1. Onthehomescreen,pressthe“Menu”key>“SystemSettings”>“Security&Location”>
“Location Service.”
2. Dragthebuttonbeside“Access toMyLocation” totherighttoturniton.
3. Select“GPS Satellites” and/or“Wi-Fi & Mobile Network Location” as the location sources.
9 ConnecttoYourPC
USB mass storage
1. Connectyour phone toyour computer witha USBcable.
2. Select“USB Mass Storage” on the screen ofyour phone.If thatdoesn’t appear
automatically,bring down the notification menu and touch “USB Connected,”then“USB
MassStorage” fromtheUSBConnectionmenu.
MTPmediadevice
Youcan accessthe media filessavedinyour phonefromyour PC.
1. Connectyourphonetoyourcomputer throughaUSBcable.
2. Select“Show Files” fromtheUSBConnectionmenu.
PTPcameradevice
Youcan accessthephotossavedinyourphonefromyourPC.
1. Connectyourphonetoyourcomputer throughaUSBcable.
2. Select“Show Pictures” fromtheUSBConnectionmenu.
Modem
Youcan access the internet onyour PCwhen your phone isconnected as a modem.
If your computer’soperating system isWindows 7 or Mac OS X,you can establish a network
connection with the following method. Forother operating systems, you need to manually
establish a network connection.
1. Connectyourphonetoyourcomputer throughaUSBcable.
2. Select“Modem” fromthe USBConnection menu.

Airplane mode
When Airplane mode isactivated,your phone will turn off all wireless connections.
1. Onthehomescreen,pressthe“Menu” key>“System Settings” >“More.”
2. Movethebuttonnextto“Airplane Mode”toturniton.
Tip:You can pull down the notification bar to show the shortcuts panel, and touch “Airplane”
to turn on/offAirplane mode.
Datausage
Onthehomescreen,pressthe“Menu” key>“System Settings” >“More” >“Data Usage”
tocheck data usage.
Mobile networks
1. Onthehomescreen,pressthe“Menu” key>“System Settings” >“More.”
2. Select “Mobile Networks” and then you can change settings including “Data Enabled,”
“Data Roaming,”“Access Point Names” and “Network Operators.”

Display
Onthehomescreen,pressthe“Menu”key>“System Settings”>“Display.”Youcan
change all kinds of display settings of your phone.
