BeforeusingyournewBC-1BodyCameraforthersttime,we
recommendperformingthefollowingstepstomaximizetheusabilityof
yournewBC-1BodyCamera.
Body Camera Setup
1. ChargetheBC-1BodyCamerausingthe120Volt,12VoltorUSB
cable.
SeeCharging the Baerysectionfordetails.
2. DownloadandinstalltheBC-1BodyCamerasoftwarefromthe10-8
VideoWebsite:hp://www.10-8video.com/support/downloads/
3. Ifthesoftwareisnotalreadyrunning,launchtheBC-1BodyCamera
software.
4. Entertheusernameandpasswordtologintothesoftware.
5. PlugtheincludedUSBcableintoyourcomputer,thenplugtheother
endofthecableintotheBC-1BodyCamera.
6. TheBC-1BodyCamerawillautomaticallysynchronizeitsinternal
clocktothedateandtimeonthecomputertowhichitisconnected.
7. TheLCDDisplayontheBC-1BodyCamerawilldisplayfour(4)
asterisks(*)indicatingitiswaitingforyoutoenterthepassword
toaccesstheinternalsofthedevice.The default password for the
camera is 0000-fourzeros.
8. UsetheBC-1BodyCameratosettheproperbadgenumberforthe
ocerwhoistousethecamera.TheBC-1Softwareallowsyoutoset
boththeunitanduserIDforeachunitused.Thisinformationwill
displayoneveryvideoalongwiththedateandtime.
9. Wealsorecommendchangingthepasswordatthispoint.
If you connect the BC-1 Body Camera to a computer and do not
enter the proper password, it will only charge its battery and you
cannot access the camera’s internal les.
For maximum security of your les, we recommend changing the
default password after setting up the BC-1 Body Camera for the
rst time.
Default Login:

Password: 000
Note: You can also press the Play button four (4) times to
advance through the password screen without having to
change the password.

Power On:
1. Pressandholdthe“Power” buonuntilthedevicebeeps.
2. TheLED Status IndicatorwilllightupgreenandtheLCD screenwill
displaythe10-8Videologo.
3. Afterafewminutesofinactivity,thesystemwillthenenterinto
recording standby modeandtheLED Status Indicatorwillremainlit
green.
4. TheLCD screenwilldisplaythecurrentlyrecordinginterfaceand
yourbodycameraisreadytouse.
Power Off:
1. Pressandholdthe“Power”buonforatleastthreeseconds.
2. Thecurrentlewillbesavedtotheinternalstorageandthedevice
willpowerdown.
When the recorder is in standby mode if there is no interaction
with it for more than thirty (30) seconds the LCD screen will turn
off.
The recorder will automatically power off when the battery is low.

Changing BC-1 Body Camera PIN
1. ConnecttheBC-1BodyCameratoacomputerusingtheUSBcable.
2. Createale“UK.txt”onyourcomputerwithatexteditorsuchas
Notepad.DonotuseawordprocessorsuchasMicrosoftWord.Itwill
introducedatathatwillcorruptthele.
3. Addthefollowinglinetotherstlineofthele:
UK 0000 1111
InthisexamplewehavesetthePINto“1111”,feelfreetosetittoany
four(4)digitnumber.
4. SavetheletotherootfolderoftheBC-1BodyCamera.
5. DisconnectandrestarttheBC-1BodyCamera.
DuringchargingtheLED Status Indicatorwilllightupred,theLCD
screenwilldisplay“MSDC”andthebaeryicon.After10secondstheBC-1
BodyCamerawillenablethescreensaverfortheLCD.Pressanybuonon
theBC-1BodyCameratoexitthescreensaver.
Whenthebaeryisfullycharged,theredLED Status Indicatorwillturn
oandthebaerystatusiconwilldisplaythe“FullyCharged”icon.
Low Power Not Fully Charged Fully Charged
A new, or completely drained BC-1 Body Camera battery can
take 6-8 hours to charge fully.
Operation
Caution: Do not perform a Factory Reset while recording or while
the device is connected to a computer. Doing so may cause le
corruption and/or damage the internal memory.

Using the Software
It’sadvisabletoalwaysstartthesoftwarebeforepluggingtheBC-1Body
Cameraintoyourcomputer.
1. StarttheBC-1BodyCamerasoftware.
2. Enteryoursoftwareuseridandsoftwarepasswordtologin.
3. PlugtheBC-1BodyCameraintoyourcomputerusingthesupplied
USBcable.
4. OncethecomputerdetectsthattheBC-1BodyCamerahasbeen
connectedtoit,theBC-1BodyCameraLCDscreenwilldisplaya
screenpromptingyoutoenterthesecuritypin.
5. Usethe“Selection” buonontheBC-1BodyCameratocyclethrough
thenumberszerothroughnine(0-9)intherstcolumn.
6. OnceyouhavecycledthroughtotheproperrstnumberinthePIN,
usethe“Play” buontomovetothenextdigit.
7. AfteryouhavesetthelastnumberinthePIN,clickingthe“Play”
buontoselectthatdigitwillsubmitthePINforverication.
8. IfyouhaveenteredtheproperPINontheBC-1BodyCamera,the
LCDscreenwilldisplay“MSDC”forafewsecondsthenturno.
9. Thesoftwarewillthendisplaythefoldersandleslocatedonthe
BC-1BodyCamera.
Managing Files
TheleftcolumnoftheBC-1BodyCamerasoftwaredisplaysthefolders
andlescontainedonthedevice.Usetheuppersectionoftheleftcolumn
tonavigatethroughthevariousfoldersontheBC-1BodyCamerastorage
media.
Viewing a File
1. Clickonceonthelenameoftheleyouwishtoview.
2. Clickthe“Open” buonattheboomoftheleftcolumn.
3. Onceloaded,thelewilldisplayinthebigwindowontheright.
Deleting a File
You must have administrative privileges to delete les.
1. Clickonceontheleyouwishtodelete.
2. Clickthe“Delete” buonattheboomoftheleftcolumn.
3. Conrmthedeletionwithinthepopupwindow.
Default Administrator Login:
User: 0000
Password: 000
Default BC-1 Body Camera PIN: 0000
If this is the rst time you have connected the BC-1 Body
Camera to this computer, you may have to wait for your
computer to automatically install the proper drivers.
You can also double-click any lename to load that le in the
viewer.

shouldhaveassignedtothem.
5. Unlessyouhaveareasontodisabletheaccountyoushouldleavethe
accountenabled.
6. Clickthe“Ok” buon tosavethenewuser’saccount.
Editing a Software User Account

window.

TheBC-1BodyCamerasoftwareallowsyoutoeasilycopyalltheles
currentlystoredonittoyourcomputer.
1. EnsuretheBC-1BodyCameraisconnectedtoacomputerrunningthe
BC-1BodyCamerasoftwareandthesoftwarecanseetheBC-1Body
Camera.
2. Clickonthe“Backup” icon.
3. Conrmthefolderonyourcomputertobackthelesuptoorusethe
“Browse” buontoselecttheproperfolder.
4. Selectwhethertooverwriteorskipcopyingaleifanexisting
lenamealreadyexistsinyourcurrentlyselectedfolder.
5. Clickthe“Backup” buontobeginthebackupprocess.
6. Fileswillbesavedtoyourcomputerandfolderswillautomaticallybe
createdforeachdaymediawastaken.
7. Typesofmediawillbefurthersortedintosub-foldersundereachdate
designatingthemediatypecontainedwithin.
8. Whenthebackupprocessiscomplete,clickthe“Close” buonoruse
the“View Backup Directory” linktoimmediatelyviewthelesjust
createdonyourcomputer.

LED Status Indicator Lights
LED Color LED Duration Explanation
Green On/Solid Power is on. System normal. In Recording Standby Mode.
Yellow On/Solid Recording audio in progress.
Red On/Solid Recording video in progress.
Red Blink/Flash In photograph mode indicates photo being taken.
Red On/Solid When charging indicated device is being charged. LED goes out
when fully charged.
Audio Indicators
“Beeps” Explanation
SIngle Beep Photo taken.
Four (4) beeps Memory card is full.
The LCD screen will also display “Memory Card Full”.
Five (5) beeps every three (3) minutes Battery low.
The camera will begin to shutdown within 20 minutes of this
warning.
If the BC-1 Body Camera has to stop recording due to a full
storage card or low battery, it will automatically stop recording,
save and close the le to ensure the integrity of the data.
