The Actiontec Wireless-Ready DSL Gateway offers
Local Exchange Carriers and Internet Service
Providers a comprehensive and expandable DSL
Gateway solution. It features a full-rate ADSL modem
integrated with a 4-port 10/100 Mbps Ethernet switch
to provide the end user with a simple and nearly instant
broadband home network.
The Gateway is capable of speeds up to 8 Mbps downstream
and 1 Mbps upstream. It has been tested with all major
DSLAMs,each with multiple line cards and is compliant with
all major ADSL standards, including T1.413i2 and G.dmt.
The ActiontecWireless-Ready DSL Gateway has been carefully
designed to maximize performance and compatibility at all
loop lengths.**
The integrated 4-port Ethernet switch allows users to share
files and resources at speeds up to 100 Mbps. The advanced
built-in router supports a variety of networking protocols
and provides easy configuration, maximum security and full
network compatibility. The Gateway also features a firewall,
Internet service blocking, Web site blocking and full logging
support.
TheActiontecWireless-ReadyDSLGatewayisupgradeablevia
two open PC card slots. One slot accepts an 802.11b wireless
card that provides full access point services to computers on
the wireless network. The second slot will support a variety
of PC Cards to extend the networking functionality of the
Gateway.*
DSL and network configuration are handled through a
browser-based wizard that walks the end user through the
simple process step-by-step. This Gateway also features the
Actiontec Installation BuddyTM software designed to easily
guidethe enduserthroughinstallation andsetupof theirnet-
work.Thishelpstoeliminatemanytechnicalsupportcallsand
problems in the field. The Actiontec Wireless-Ready DSL
Gateway is compatible with any computer built with a RJ-45
Ethernet or USB (PC only) port and Web browser. Setup is
further simplified through color-coded Ethernet and USB
cables and connectors.
