0. PREAMBLE
1. PURPOSE OF THE USE AND MAINTENANCE
INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL
is manual was prepared to provide to the user a general knowledge of the machine and to
allow its use under safety conditions.
is Instructions Manual makes integral part of the machine and has the purpose of providing
all the information necessary for the:
• handling of the machine, whether packaged or otherwise under safety conditions;
• correct installation of the machine;
• knowledge of the technical specications of the machine;
• in-depth knowledge of its operation and of its limits;
• indication of the qualications and of the specic training required from the operators
and maintenance workers of the machine;
• in-depth knowledge of the planned, not planned and not permitted uses;
• correct use under safety conditions;
• carrying out maintenance and repairs actions, correctly and safely;
• technical assistance and the management of the spare parts;
• disposal of waste products from the machine;
• decommissioning of the machine under safety conditions and in compliance of the
urrent regulations for the protection of the health of the workers and of the
environment.
e instructions, documentation and drawings contained in this Manual are of a reserved te-
chnical nature, strictly owned by Adam Pumps S.p.a.; therefore, beyond the purposes for whi-
ch it was produced, any reproduction, both integral and partial of the content and/or format,
must take place with the previous consent of the Manufacturer.

2. STORING OF THE INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL
3. UPDATE OF THE INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL
e Instructions Manual must be stored carefully and must accompany the machine in all the
changes of ownership that the latter could be subject in its life cycle.
Storage must be favoured by handling it carefully, with clean hands and without placing it on
dirty surfaces.
No parts must be removed, torn or arbitrarily changed.
e Manual is led in an environment protected from dampness and heat and very close to the
machine to which it makes reference.
e Manufacturer is deemed liable only of the Instructions edited and validated by the latter
(Original Instructions); any translations MUST always be accompanied by the Original In-
structions, in order to check the correctness of the translation. Anyhow, the Manufacturer is
not deemed liable of translations not approved by the latter, therefore, if incongruence is de-
tected, attention must be paid to the original language and eventually contact the commercial
oce of the Manufacturer, who will make the changes deemed appropriate.
e Manufacturer reserves the right to introduce changes to the project, variations/impro-
vements to the machine and updates to the Instructions Manual, without prior notice to the
Customers.
However, in the event of changes to the machine installed at the Customer’s premises, agreed
with the Manufacturer and involving adaptation of one or more Chapters of the Instructions
Manual, it will be the task of the Manufacturer to send to the Customer the parts of the In-
structions Manual concerning the change, with the new overall revision model thereof. It
shall be the Customer’s responsibility, by following the indications accompanying the updated
documentation, to substitute in all the copies in the latter’s possession the parts not valid any
longer with the new ones.

4. DEFINITIONS
MACHINES DIRECTIVE 2006/42/EC (Article 2, Denitions)
ANNEX I MACHINES DIRECTIVE 2006/42/EC (p. 1.1.1 Denitions)
MANUFACTURER Natural or legal person who designs and/or manufacture a machine or a
partly completed machine, object of this Directive, and is liable of compliance of the machine
or of the partly completed machine with this Directive for placing in the market under its own
name or under its own brand, or for personal use. In the absence of a Manufacturer as dened
above, is deemed Manufacturer the natural or legal person who places in the market or com-
missions a machine or a partly completed machine, object of this Directive.
PLACING IN THE MARKET First availability, within the European Community, in return
of payment or free of charge, of a machine or of a partly completed machine, for the purpose
of distribution or use.
COMMISSIONING First use, in compliance with its intended use, within the European Com-
munity, of a machine, object of this Directive.
SAFETY COMPONENT Component:
• intended to full a safety operation;
• placed on the market separately;
• the failure and/or malfunction of which endangers the safety of persons; and
• which is not essential for the purpose for which the machine has been designed or that,
for this function, it can be substituted with other components.
DANGER A potential source of injury or damage to health.
DANGEROUS AREA Any area inside and/or close to a machine where the presence of a per-
son constitutes a risk for the safety and health of the said person.
EXPOSED PERSON Any person who is entirely or partly in a dangerous area
OPERATOR e person/s in charge of installing, operate, adjust, clean, repair and remove a
machine and carry out its maintenance.
RISK Combination of the likelihood and seriousness of an injury or damage for health that
may arise in a dangerous situation.

5. PICTOGRAPHS
General information
e pictographs must be applied in areas where they are easily visible and legible by anyone
who is approaching and at such a point so that the person may react timely for taking the
actions necessary to avoid the danger.
When possible, they must be applied in areas protected by the risk of damaging, abrasion,
chemical aggression, dust or anything else that could change their visibility and reading. e
temperature eld of use is between -40 °C and +80 °C provided that there is no uneven distri-
bution of the temperatures that aect adversely on the thermal expansion of the material.
e surfaces on which are applied the pictographs must be clean, smooth and without greases,
oils or chemical products which reduce their adhesion.
e rule envisages that the safety pictographs are regularly checked and cleaned to ensure their
good readability at a safe distance. When the products are subjected to extreme environmental
conditions or anyhow when the safety pictographs do not meet any longer the required visibi-
lity conditions, they must be substituted.
REPAIRS Element of the machine used specically to guarantee the protection through a
material barrier.
PROTECTION DEVICE Device (other than a shelter) which reduces the risk, on its own or
associated to a shelter.
PLANNED USE Use of the machine in compliance with the information provided in the use
instructions.
READILY PREDICTABLE MISUSE Use of the machine in a manner other than that indica-
ted in the use instructions, but which may result from readily predictable human behaviour.
RESIDUAL RISKS Risks that remain despite having adopted protection measures integrated
in the design of the machine and despite the additional protections and protection measures
adopted.

UNI EN ISO 12100 Safety of the machinery - General principles of design -
Assessment of the risk and reduction of the risk
e Machines are covered by guarantee, as envisaged in the general sales conditions. If during
the validity period there should occur faulty operations or failures of parts of the machine,
which fall within the cases indicated by the guarantee, the Manufacturer, aer the appropriate
checks on the machine, will undertake to repair or substitute the faulty parts.
It is reminded that actions of change carried out by the user, without explicit written authori-
sation by the Manufacturer, invalidate the guarantee and relieve the Manufacturer from any
liability for damage caused from faulty product.
is is valid in particular when the above mentioned changes are carried out on the safety
devices by degrading their eciency. e same considerations apply when not original spare
parts are used or dierent from those explicitly indicated by the Manufacturer as “safety de-
vices”.
We therefore recommend our customers to call our Service Assistance, before carrying out the
above mentioned actions on the machine.
Any possible evident and visibly present defects at the time of delivery of the product (aesthe-
tic defects on parts in view, breakages, dents, operation defects, missing part, etc.) must be
signalled immediately to the Company.

6. CONDITIONS OF GUARANTEE
adam pumps s.p.a. (producer) guarantees to the purchasers of adam
pumps products, by acknowledging:
• a guarantee of 5 years duration which covers problems caused by
defects of production and of compliance present in the purchased
products;
• that the period of guarantee starts from the date indicated on the ec
label, which is the date of manufacture. for products in which there is
no ec label, a label will be applied inside it on which is shown the date
of manufacture and from which will start the above mentioned
guarantee;
• if for any whatsoever reason the manufacturing date shall not be le-
gible, the guarantee is void immediately and it shall not be invoked un-
less the missing legibility is to be charged at the exclusive liability of
adam pumps spa;
• the guarantee is limited to repairs or alternatively to substitution of
the product, where it is not possible to repair it;
• the repair operations can be performed exclusively by adam pumps or
at a centre authorised by adam pumps;
• the guarantee remains excluded in the event that the product is in-
spected or mishandled by persons, bodies, and companies outside of the
adam pumps s.p.a. circuit;
• each guarantee request is subject to the approval of adam pumps. an
authorisation code is requested for the return of the goods. this code
will be provided by adam pumps at the request of the customer who will
invoke the guarantee on the product to be repaired or substituted;
• unless otherwise agreed with adam pumps, the returned goods must
be sent with prepaid transport by whoever invokes acknowledgement of
the guarantee to adam pumps s.p.a.;
• the goods returned without authorisation and/or with unpaid tran-
sport, can be rejected at the discretion of the company in the absence of
the above mentioned conditions;
the above mentioned guarantee does not apply in the following cases:
• the product has not been used or installed according with the in-
structions of the adam pumps producer;
• the product has been changed or mishandled;
• are excluded from the 5 year guarantee: adhesive labels, plastic or
metal sheet covers, keyboards and masks, components subject to wear
such as vanes, impellers and sealing rings and gaskets generally.

2. SAFETY
1. GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS
before making the machine operational read carefully the in-
structions contained in this manual and also follow carefully the
indications given therein.
e Manufacturer has abundantly given its maximum commitment in designing this machine
to make it SAFE as much as possible.
With this assumption, the machine has been equipped with all the protections and safety de-
vices deemed necessary, and provided with all sucient information in order to be used safely
and correctly.
To this end, for every man-machine interaction, whenever necessary, the following informa-
tion has been indicated:
• Status of the machine.
• Residual risks.
• Personal protection means necessary or recommended.
• Prevention of human errors.
• Prohibitions/obligations relating to readily foreseeable incorrect behaviour.
It is anyhow essential to follow carefully the following indications:
• It is absolutely prohibited to inhibit the safety measures installed on the machine.
• Do not modify for any reason parts of the machine; in the event of malfunction,
due to absence in meeting the above, the Manufacturer is not liable of the consequences.
It is recommended to request possible changes directly from the Manufacturer.
• Place the machine according with the diagrams provided by the Manufacturer otherwise
the latter is not liable for any possible drawbacks.
In addition, when necessary, in the Manual will be specied further recommendations for the
user’s convenience on the prevention measures, on the personal protection means, on the in-
formation suitable to prevent human errors and on the prohibitions relating to not permitted
but readily foreseeable behaviours.
In any case, the user may appropriately integrate the information provided by the Manufactu-
rer with additional work instructions to contribute to the safe use of the machine, obviously
not in contrast with what is given in this Instructions Manual

e Manufacturer is deemed relieved from any liability for damages caused by the machine to
persons, animals or goods in the event of:
• improper use of the machine;
• defects of the electrical power supply;
• incorrect installation;
• scarcity of the planned maintenance;
• unauthorised changes or taking of actions;
• use of not original or not specic spare parts for the model in question;
• total or partial non-observance of the instructions;
• contrary use of specic national legislations;
• calamities and exceptional events.
CONTROLS AND CHECKS
Checking must be carried out by an expert person; they must be of the visual and functional
type, with the purpose of guaranteeing safety of the machine.
ey include:
• checking of all the safeties installed on the machine;
• functional checking of the machine;
• checking of the state of the machine;
In order to guarantee maximum safety of the machine it is anyhow FORBIDDEN to:
• mishandle any part of the machine;
• use the machine in operation, but not in full eciency;
• modify the machine in order to change the use established originally, without explicit au-
thorisation by the Manufacturer or without assuming the full liability set forth by Machines
Directive 2006/42/EC;

2. PLANNED USE
3. RESIDUAL RISKS
e group in question has been designed and manufactured exclusively for the transfer of the
diesel oil incoming from tankers, tanks and drums.
It is strictly prohibited to transfer dierent liquids such as petrol, explosive liquids and corro-
sive (ammables) and food liquids.
e machine is not designed for use in an explosive atmosphere.
Entrusting the use of the pump to children or handicapped persons is prohibited.
Use of the pump in closed environments in the presence of vehicles using petrol, GPL, or
methane is prohibited.
It is necessary to pay attention to the following residual risks, which are present when using
the machine and which cannot be eliminated.

e weight and dimensions of the group allow an easy hand transport. Check that the packa-
ging is in a good state and that the group has not been subjected to damages.
Any anomaly must be communicated within 10 days from the date of delivery.
For a correct unpacking follow carefully the following instructions:
1. Lay the box on the ground according to the indications drawn on the packaging.
2. Open carefully the box, extract the machine and lay it on the ground or on a sound surface.
3. Aer having checked that the machine and its accessories are whole, remove the two plugs,
which are inserted one on the electro-pump and the other on the litre counter.
4. Fix the panel at will, by laying it on the oor or on sound surfaces suitable to support
adequately the pump, protected from adverse weather conditions or in environments with
temperatures between -20 °C and +50 °C, suciently aired and lighted. For a better use, it is
recommended to anchor the group as close as possible at the level of the liquid to be pumped
(max. 2 m. height above the level of the liquid).
5. Screw the distribution pipe on the ange of the litre counter and on the NOZZLE.
6. We recommend to use the ADAM PUMPS suction pipe; alternatively, use exclusively a rub-
ber or plastic suction pipe resistant to diesel oil, of the spiral wound type, with 25 mm internal
diameter, corresponding to the ller suction.
e pipe must be sealed so that no diesel oil leaks out. In the event that it is decided to mount a
pipe longer than 4 metres, use of the lter base valve is recommended. e same instructions
are carried out for the delivery pipe, for which we recommend to use an Adam Pumps pipe. To
prevent unforeseeable risks, use exclusively the Adam Pumps distribution NOZZLEs.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
It is essential that the plant is equipped with a 30mA minimum life-saving protection ac-
cording to the DIN Standards. e plug must be connected to a current socket suitable for a
SHUKO socket, with earthing contact. It is prohibited to cut or substitute the plug supplied as
standard.

ese systems of diesel oil transfer are operator hydraulic machines able to supply a receiver
tank, by suction of a liquid from an accumulation open channel tank; the system, besides the
pump, consists of additional equipment, able to provide a complete service depending on the
selected model:
• volumetric litre counter with lter;
• suction lter;
• suction kit (diesel oil pipe and base valve with lter);
• delivery kit (diesel oil pipe, distribution NOZZLE);
• system support frame.
TYPE OF PUMP
e type of pump used by “ADAM PUMPS S.p.A.” is the following:
• blade pump where the impeller, housed in the pump body chamber, drags the liquid in the
direction of its rotation, from an area of low pressure to an area of high pressure.
4. DESCRIPTION OF THE MACHINE
2. PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
1. PRELIMINARY CONTROL
Aer having rechecked that the pipes have been adequately sealed, that the electrical power
supply cable has been connected to its special connection and that the NOZZLE is in its idle
position, it is possible to proceed with starting the operation. Aer having inserted the suction
pipe in the tanker and the NOZZLE in the special lling hole, switch on the pump, release
gradually the NOZZLE lever, and start the transfer of the diesel oil. When lling is completed,
release control of the NOZZLE and switch o the switch. When the pump is not used, discon-
nect the plug. In the event that an automatic NOZZLE is available, the latter will disconnect
on its own automatically when lling is completed.
WARNINGS
1. It is prohibited to leave the lling position in order to prevent over-spilling of the diesel
oil. Do not allow the machine to work without any liquid inside the pump. Do not start the
pump before having connected the suction and delivery pipes.
2. When the NOZZLE is closed switch o as fast as possible the electro-pump.
3. In the event of voltage uctuations it is appropriate to switch o the switch and discon-
nect the plug from the socket.
4. It is absolutely prohibited to use the pump with wet hands, barefoot or immersed in
water.
5. e machine guarantees a continuous service of 30 min. If used for longer periods, tem-
perature may exceed +70 °C.

SYMBOLS
FUNCTIONALITY
Soware is divided in 2 modes:
USER: can ben navigated using the and buttons by anybody and this without any ac-
cess key or TAG. It allows to visualize the total per authorized user and see blocked users as
well as the PERIOD TOTAL and GENERAL TOTAL.
MASTER: only accessible with the MASTER card, this mode allows full control of device’s
functions, allows setup of TAG/Users (max 50) limits, program TAGs with their limitations,
