Carry’Box Module

Applicable to the AddBike and the AddBike+
This document indicates the correct practices to be respected during the use and
assembly/disassembly of the Carry’Box module. It is imperative to read this document in its
entirety in order to keep your bike, your AddBike, and your Carry’Box in good working condition
for as long as possible.
Please keep this document.

The AddBike is an innovative solution that transforms your bike into a practical, easy to
handle cargo bike. It consists of a two-wheeled base that allows the transportation of loads
and the installation of modules specifically designed for the AddBike. These modules give
your bike the capacity to carry bulkier loads, groceries or a child.
Welcome to the family of AddBikers!
There is no need to invest in expensive and large cargo bicycles. With the AddBike you can
quickly and easily turn your own bike into a compact cargo bike.
This document concerns only the Carry’Box module and is complementary to the “AddBike
User's and Installation Guide”.
This module is compatible with the AddBike and the AddBike+.

Before installing this module on your AddBike, make sure you have read and understood the
“AddBike User and Installation Guide”.
Read and follow the instructions in this guide: Read the entire guide carefully and follow the
instructions in order to use the Carry’Box module safely. If you do not understand certain indications,
please contact your AddBike dealer or contact AddBike directly at: support@addbike.fr. Please keep
this manual for future reference. It is also important to take into account the directions for use of the
AddBike and that of the bike on which you are installing the AddBike.
The AddBike Company disclaims all liability in case of non-compliance with the instructions in this
User's and Installation Guide of the Module Carry’Box and in case of modification of the product by
the user.
Using the Carry’Box Module
The Carry’Box module is designed to be used on the AddBike produced by our company. Do not try
to install or use this module on other cargo bikes or on a classic bike.
The Carry’Box module is not designed to be stored outdoors for prolonged periods. It must be stored
in a dry and temperate place away from corrosive products.

3. Contents of the Carry’Box parcel
The Carry’Box is delivered in a parcel containing:
•A compact slat;
•The textile part of the module (black & white container);
•The textile lid of the module (black);
•2 upper tubes;
•2 front tubes;
•1 crossbar;
•2 screws BHC M5x30;
•4 screws BHC M5x20;
•The manual for the Carry'Box module.
Before assembling the Carry'Box module on your bike, remember to check that the product is in
good general condition (no scratches, no bent parts).
4. Installing the Carry’Box
The Carry’Box module must be installed and uninstalled as explained. Improper
installation can lead to accidents that could cause serious injury.
We advise you to add the Carry’Box module to your AddBike only when the
latter is properly installed on your bike so as to make this module easier to
assemble.
For the installation you will need an Allen wrench size 3:

•Screw the provided compact slat to the lower front tubes with the 4 screws BHC M5x20.
You should end up with the result shown in figure 3;

•Remove the screws on both sides of the compact plate of the AddBike seat. The same
applies to the screws on both sides of the highest compact plate of the AddBike backrest;

•Insert the front tubes into the holes of the seat and line up the screw holes of both parts;

•Replace the previously removed seat screws by inserting them through the holes in the
front tubes;

•Install the textile:
oSlide on the white textile sheaths
oPosition the rear of the textile in front of the backrest

•At the back of the module, hook the 3 textile straps around the backrest of the AddBike, starting
with the bottom one;
Tighten the fabric on both sides, centering the fabric on the backrest as much
as possible.
Verify that no cables from the AddBike are caught in the strap clamps.

•Insert the upper tubes into the holes in the backrest and the front tubes at the same time. If the
different tube sections do not coincide, you have positioned the upper tube in the wrong
direction;

•Replace the screws previously removed from the backrest, making them pass through the holes
of the upper tubes;

•Slide the crossbar into the sleeve of the textile cover;

•Position the crossbar between the two holes formed at the front of the module between the
upper and front tubes and fix it to the rest of the structure using the 2 supplied BHC M5x30
screws:

•Open the upper flaps on both sides of the module by pulling on the Velcro stripes;

•Fold the textile over the upper tubes and attach it to the Velcro tape provided;

•Fold the lid over the textile to close the Carry'Box;

If you wish to use the Carry'Box without its lid, do not put the lid on the
crossbar when mounting it on the module.

5. Using the Carry’Box
Rules related to loading the Carry’Box
When loading the Carry’Box, you must be extremely careful that the load does not to exceed the
maximum volume, i.e. the capacities defined by the module's textile. Make sure that:
•The load is securely loaded in the Carry’Box;
•The load does not exceed the width and height of the Carry’Box;
•The transported load does not interfere with the movement of the fork, wheels and
handlebars of your bike.
The maximum weight allowed in the Carry’Box is 35kg.
Do not transport sharp objects in the Carry'Box as it may cause damage to the
textile/fabric.
When carrying a load in the Carry'Box, check that the load is properly secured
and leaning on the backrest of the base to avoid any movement of the load
while riding as this may lead to loss of control.
Do not transport children in the Carry’Box.

Please read chapter 9C of the “AddBike User and Installation Guide”.
6. Uninstalling the Carry’Box Module
•Remove the crossbar by removing the screws attaching it;
•Unhook the velcro which hold the textile in place and make them pass them through to the
other side of the upper tubes in order to release them.
•Unscrew the screws that attach the upper tubes to the backrest and remove the upper tubes
from the remaining structure;
•Loosen the straps holding the back of the textile;
•Remove the textile by sliding it along the sleeves;
•Unscrew the screws holding the lower tubes to the seat and remove the lower tubes.
7. Cleaning
Your Carry’Box may be cleaned with a sponge or with plain water.
You may remove the textile covering to facilitate cleaning.

8. Warranty
The warranty of the Carry’Box module extends to two years after purchase. The product must be
used in conformity with its User Guide and must be regularly maintained. Any damage which results
from non-compliant use, from violence, from insufficient maintenance or from normal wear and tear
is excluded from the warranty.
Reaching the wear limit of the various parts of this module depends strongly on the style and
intensity of use adopted by each user, on maintenance and care, as well as on the following factors:
•Mileage;
•The transported load;
•The way you ride, sudden accelerations and braking, winding paths covered at high speed;
•Weather and environmental factors: ultraviolet rays, moisture, dirt, temperature, air salinity,
contact with salt water, road salt;
•Regular maintenance: intervals between maintenance, maintenance products used,
maintenance and overhaul operations.
9. Assistance in case of problems
If a problem occurs with your Carry'Box, please contact AddBike (support@addbike.fr) or your dealer.
We will help you as much as possible in order to solve the problem as soon as possible.

AddBike products on www.add-bike.com.
