F nctions
Measuring ranges
Appropriate meas ring ranges are available for all sensors with a non-linear
characteristic, e.g. 10 thermoco ple types, NTC and PT100 probes, infrared
sensors, and flow transd cers (rotating vanes, thermoanemometers, Pitot
t bes). For h midity sensors additional f nction channels are available for cal-
c lating h midity variables s ch as dew point, mixt re ratio, vapor press re,
and enthalpy. Even complex chemical sensors are s pported. Meas red val-
es from other sensors can also be acq ired sing the voltage, c rrent, and re-
sistance ranges with individ al scaling in the connector. Existing sensors can
also be sed - so long as the appropriate ALMEMO® connector is connected
via its screw terminals. For digital inp t signals, freq encies, and p lses,
adapter connectors are available with an integrated microcontroller. It is th s
possible to connect virt ally any sensor to any ALMEMO® meas ring instr -
ment and to change sensors witho t the need for any extra settings.
Function channels
Maxim m, minim m, average, and differential val es from certain meas ring
points can be programmed as f nction channels, also internal channels, and
can be processed and printed o t like normal meas ring points. There are also
f nction channels available for special meas ring tasks, e.g. to determine the
temperat re coefficient Q/∆T and wet b lb globe temperat re.
Units
The 2-character nits display can be adapted for each meas ring channel so
that both the display and the printo t always indicate the correct nits, e.g.
when a transmitter is connected. Conversion between °C (Centigrade) and °F
(Fahrenheit) is performed a tomatically.
Measured value designation
Each sensor is identified by means of a 10-character alphan meric name. It is
entered via the keypad or the interface and appears in the display, in the print-
o t, or on the comp ter screen.
Correction of measured values
The meas red val e on each meas ring channel can be corrected both in
terms of zero-point and gain; this means that even sensors s ally req iring
initial adj stment (e.g. expansion, force, pH) can be freely interchanged. Zero-
point correction and, partly at least, gain adj stment can be performed at the
to ch of a b tton. Sensors with m lti-point calibration can also be connected;
(see Man al Section 6.3.13).
caling
The corrected meas red val e on each meas ring channel can also be f rther
scaled in terms of zero-point and gain - sing the base val e and factor. The
decimal point position can be set by means of the exponent f nction. The scaling
val es can be calc lated a tomatically by setting to zero and entering the nomi-
nal setpoint or via the scaling men .
Limit values and alarm
Per meas ring channel two limit val es can be set (1 maxim m and 1 mini-
