Note on Buttons Function
• Power Button:
Press to wake the device from sleep. Press and hold to power on/off.
• Mode Button:
Press to switch mode.
Press and hold to switch between front and rear screens. (It doesn't work during
recording.)
Front and rear screens cannot work at the same time.

1. Memory Card Icon:
displays remaining recording time/number of photos.
2. Battery Level:
display the percentage of battery.
3. Audio switch:
Turn on or off the sound when recording a video.
4. Photo Mode:
switch modes or display the current mode.
5. Resolution Ratio:
display current resolution ratio or set the resolution ratio.
6. Zoom:
adjust the shooting angle.
7. Photo Page:
control video shooting under video mode.
Note: The camera will not record sound when it is in the waterproof case.

GETTING STARTED
Welcome to your AKASO Brave 8. To capture videos and photos, you need a memory
card (not included). You need to activate in APP for first use (please activate within 3
times; otherwise, the camera will be locked).
Note:
1. Use memory cards that meet U3 grade.
2. To keep your memory card in good condition, please format the memory card in
the camera before using it. (Reformatting will delete all your data, so be sure to
back up your photos and videos).
3. Support memory card capacity maximum of 512GB.
4. The FAT32 format memory card will stop recording when the storage of each file
exceeds 4GB and start to record again on a new file.
POWERING ON / OFF
To Power On:
Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds, your camera is on.
To Power Off:
Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds again, your camera is off.
Quick Start Guide
When using the camera or camera reformatting for the first time, a quick start guide
will display how to use the camera and settings. At the same time, it will remind you
to activate in APP but you can click “skip” to ignore. (Note: please activate within 3
times skipping; otherwise, the camera will lock).

• Mode Switching:
1. Swipe from left to right on the home page.
2. Click “Mode Switch” to enter Photo Mode.
• Personalized Settings:
Swipe up to enter the personalized settings and adjust to specifications.
• Playback:
Swipe right to enter the playback page and record videos, preview, or delete photos.
• Camera Settings:
Swipe down to turn on the specification settings interface and set the general settings.

Swipe right to choose the following modes:
Video Mode
• Video Mode
Default mode: Video Mode
In Video Mode, press the Shutter button, the camera starts recording video. Press
the Shutter button again to stop.
• Time-Lapse Video Mode
Extract video frames according to the time-lapse interval, and convert long activities
into short videos that can be shared. Ideal for street scenes, art works and other
extended activities.
• Motion Time-Lapse Video Mode
It can shorten video time and record super stable timelapse videos when moving.
But please note that comparing to time-lapse mode, this function improves the
anti-shake feature, but the clarity will slightly decrease.
• Slow Motion Video Mode
It uses high resolution to shoot videos and can slow down to 1/16, 1/8 or 1/4. For
instance, by selecting 720P and set themultiple speed to 16X, it will reach super slow
actions 16 times.
Photo Mode
• Photo Mode
In Photo Mode, press the Shutter button, the camera takes a photo. Or adjust the
burst photo menu to take several photos at the same time.You can also adjust the
countdown menu to take a timed selfie.
• Time Lapse Photo Mode
Set a specific shooting interval that snaps the same scene or objects automatically
for a long time continuously at a particular frequency.

Image Stabilization Function
Click . Two modes: Image Stabilization and SuperSmooth. They can record
stable videos in severe shake. Image Stabilization can be used directly on the device
while SuperSmooth improve video stabilization. Videos downloaded from the phone
will have the correct SuperSmooth function only when SuperSmooth is enabled in
the APP.
Zoom
Click . Touch the screen to zoom in or out; it helps take close-up shots.

CAM(Center Average Metering):
The metering mode is mainly based
on the center, and complementary on
the surroundings.
AM(Average Metering):
The metering mode is based on
overall frame.
CM(Center Metering):
The metering mode based on central

SM(Spot Metering):
The metering mode is chosen a
specific position by user touching.
AFM(AI Face Metering):
The dynamic metering mode can
recognize the face in the frame, and
take the face as the standard.

Wifi is enabled by default only during the activation process when the user starts up,
and will be turned off by default in other processes. If there is no connection within
5 minutes, it will be automatically turned off. If you do not connect within 5 minutes,
the APP will be automatically disconnected. At this time, you can manually open it.

3. Control camera by APP. You can record, shoot, playback, load, delete and edit.
4. After connecting the app, press the Mode button to turn off the camera Wifi,
exit the Connecting interface, and the connection with the app will also be
disconnected.
5. SuperSmooth Instructions
① After connecting to the camera, click - Image stabilization, choose Super
Smooth, then click in the upper left corner until it goes back to the camera
page.
Note: SuperSmooth can be enabled on the camera (select SuperSmooth on the
Image Stabilization option) or through the app (as shown above).
