Allgemeines

Der Bluetooth Helmconnector BT-HC2 D&S von AKE ermöglicht den
Betrieb von diversen Bluetooth-Helmen an kabelgebundenen Helmsprech-
® ®
anlagen. Er ist sowohl für AKE PowerCom Motorradkommunikations-
®
und Entertainmentsysteme als auch für andere Systeme, wie Baehr Helm-
® ®
sprechanlagen, Honda Goldwing Interkom oder Harley Davidson Boom!
™
Box , etc. lieferbar.
Mit dem Bluetooth Helmconnector ist sowohl Duplex- als auch Stereo-
Betrieb möglich. Der Duplex-Betrieb ermöglicht per Headsetprofil (HSP) die

Signalübertragung in zwei Richtungen. Der Stereo-Betrieb unterstützt A2DP
(2-Kanal Audioprofil) und ermöglicht damit eine hochwertige Signalüber-
tragung zum Helm. Zum einfachen Umschalten ist eine Multifunktionstaste
vorhanden (5). Bei Betrieb an einer AKE PowerCom-Anlage wird bei
Solobetrieb das jeweils optimale Profil automatisch aktiviert.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass wir bei Verwendung in
Kombination mit Bluetooth-Helmsets anderer Hersteller
keine Gewähr für die Funktion übernehmen können
Von AKE sind auch bereits vorkonfigurierte Komplettsets lieferbar, beste-
hend aus je einem Bluetooth Helmconnector und einem Stealth Bluetooth
Helmset 201 für den versteckten Einbau in Ihren Helm, z.B.:

Voraussetzungen
1. Eine Motorradsprechanlage von AKE (PowerCom-Serie), Baehr,
Harley Davidson Boom Box, Honda Interkom, etc.
2. Ein Bluetooth-Helm, oder ein entsprechendes Bluetooth-System mit
aufgeladenem Akku, Passwort 0000, 1111 oder 1234, unterstützte
Profile: HSP/HFP 1.5 für Duplex bzw. A2DP für Stereo.
3. Alle zu verbindenden Bluetoothkomponenten müssen sich innerhalb der
Reichweite der Bluetoothverbindung befinden, wobei die
Bluetoothhelme durchaus auf verschiedenen Fahrzeugen sein können.

4. Durch Abschattungen oder Störquellen kann die Reichweite beträcht-
lich reduziert werden. Wir empfehlen deshalb, Bluetooth-
komponenten nicht direkt unter dem Tank etc. unterzubringen (am
besten ausprobieren).
5. Beim Betrieb von mehreren Bluetooth-Geräten empfehlen wir diese
getrennt voneinander zu befestigen. Im Nahbereich (unter ca. 50 cm)
können sich die Geräte unter Umständen gegenseitig stören (Knack-
geräusche).
Die Montage am Fahrzeug
Verbinden Sie die Stromversorgung mit dem geschalteten Bord-
netz (Klemme 30, Licht- oder Zubehöranschluss) oder über einen
Schalter mit 12V, am besten durch einen Fachmann anschließen
lassen. Bei Betrieb an PowerCom-Anlagen nicht erforderlich.
Ansteckversion: Diese in die vorhandene Helmanschlussbuchse
einstecken und fertig
Einbauversion: Diese sollte durch einen Fachbetrieb montiert werden. Mon-
tagehinweise dazu finden Sie auf unseren Internetseiten. Wir empfehlen die
Kombination VOR dem Einbau zu testen da
nicht garantiert werden kann, dass alle
Bluetooth - Geräte kompatibel sind.

Wenn die Geräte bereits gepaart sind, können Sie diesen Abschnitt überspringen.
Der Bluetooth-Helmconnector geht beim Einschalten automatisch in den
Paarungsmodus, ersichtlich am Wechselblinken der Kontroll-LEDs.
Halten Sie Ihren Bluetooth-Helm oder Ihr Bluetooth-Helmset in die Nähe des
AKE Bluetooth-Helmconnectors und achten Sie darauf, dass kein
weiteres Bluetoothsystem in der Nähe im Paarungsmodus ist. Bringen Sie nun
Ihren Bluetooth-Helm oder Ihr Bluetooth-Helmset zeitnah ebenfalls in den
Paarungsmodus für Bluetoothgeräte, z.B. für Handys (Achtung, verwenden
Sie nicht die Interkom-Paarung und versuchen Sie nicht den Bluetooth Helm
mit der Harley Boom!™ Box! zu paaren). Nach erfolgreicher Paarung hören
Sie im gepaarten Helm einen kurzen Bestätigungston und die LED’s been-
den das Wechselblinken.

Löschen alter Paarungen
Wir empfehlen alte Paarungen grundsätzlich zu löschen! Bringen Sie dazu
den jeweiligen AKE Bluetooth-Helmconnector in den Paarungsmodus,
indem Sie diesen über die Multifunktionstaste aus und wieder einschalten
und die Taste beim Einschalten so lange gedrückt halten, bis der Paarungs-
modus durch abwechselndes Blinken der LEDs signalisiert wird. Drücken Sie
dann im Paarungsmodus 2 x kurz die Multifunktionstaste (5). Ein kurzes
Unterbrechen des LED- Blinkens signalisiert, dass alle Paarungen gelöscht
sind. Dann den Bluetooth-Helmconnector aus- und wieder einschalten. Das
Gerät geht nun wieder automatisch in den Paarungsmodus.
Herstellen der Bluetooth-Verbindung zum Helm
Wenn Ihr Bluetooth-Helm dieses zulässt, erfolgt die Verbindung nach dem
Einschalten der Stromversorgung automatisch.

Kontrollton für Duplex Kommunikation ein: tief hoch , aus: hoch tief
Durch kurzes Drücken der Multifunktionstaste (5) kann jederzeit zwischen
Duplex und Stereo-Betrieb hin und her geschaltet werden. Beachten Sie,
dass für die Sprechverbindung der Duplex-Betrieb aktiv sein muss. Die
gewählte Einstellung wird gespeichert.
Anpassen der Mikrofonempfindlichkeit
Hierfür sollte die verwendete Motorradsprechanlage / Motorradinterkom
bereits richtig eingestellt sein! Näheres dazu siehe Bedienungsanleitung
der jeweiligen Motorradsprechanlage.
Systembedingt, ist die Übertragungsqualität und die Höchstgeschwindigkeit
für eine Sprechverbindung auf dem Motorrad über Bluetooth immer geringer
als über die Kabelverbindung. Außerdem kann je nach der in den Helm ein-
gebauten Bluetooth-Komponente, das Mikrofonsignal lauter oder leiser sein.
Für sprachgesteuerte Anlagen (VOX) können Sie die Mikrofonempfindlich-
keit zusätzlich am Bluetooth-Helmconnector anpassen. Regler (4) für maxi-

male Empfindlichkeit ganz nach rechts, für minimale Nebengeräusche
ganz nach links. Testen im Fahrbetrieb - Einstellen bitte nur im Stand!
Qualität der Bluetooth-Übertragung
Mögliche Fehlfunktionen
Sprechverbindung nur in einer Richtung:
Der Stereobetrieb ist aktiviert, durch kurzes Drücken der Multifunktionstaste
(5) die Verbindung auf Duplex-Betrieb umschalten.
Die Verbindung zum Helm geht beim Anlassen des Motors verloren:
Wenn z.B. bei schwacher Bordbatterie der Anlasser betätigt wird, und
dabei das Bordnetz impulsartig auf unter 9V zusammenbricht, kann die
Elektronik unter Umständen mehrfach aus und wieder einschalten, oder
z.B. zwischen Duplex und Stereo hin und her schalten! In diesem Fall sollten
Sie Ihre Helm-Sprechanlage über einen separaten Schalter erst nach
dem Starten der Maschine einschalten.
Keine Bluetoothverbindung nach dem Aus- und Wiedereinschalten:
Vor dem Wiedereinschalten der Stromversorgung ca. 4 Sekunden warten,
damit sich der Bluetooth Helmconnector beim Helmset ordentlich
abmelden kann. Sonst kann es vorkommen, dass es zwei Minuten dauert,
bis die Verbindung wieder hergestellt wird, oder dass diese gar völlig
abbricht. Tip: Bei einigen modernen Motorrädern wird das Licht erst nach
dem Starten des Motors eingeschaltet. Verbinden Sie hier die Versorgung
der Elektronik mit dem 12V-Anschluss des Frontscheinwerfers.
Audiosignal vom Radio, etc. bei höherer Fahrgeschwindigkeit übersteuert:
Bluetooth-Helmset auf hohe Lautstärke einstellen und dafür die
Radiolautstärke und bei Helmsprechanlagen die Interkomlautstärke
entsprechend reduzieren.
Im Ruhezustand leichte Bluetooth-Geräusche :
Die Bluetooth-zum-Helm Verbindungen sind auf den verzerrungsfreien
Duplex (HFP): Sprechverständigung im Fahrerhelm bei optimaler Einstel-
lung: Bis über 160 KM/h - gut. Besonders im Soziushelm ist bei lautem
Helmtyp und hoher Geschwindigkeit eine schlechtere Sprechverständi-
gung möglich. Durch die Verzögerung bei der Bluetooth-Übertragung
entsteht bei Sprechanlagen mit Seitenton* ein etwas halliger Sound, was
aber die Sprechverständigung nicht beeinträchtigt.
A2DP: High Quality Stereo-Sound
* Da das Sprachsignal bei diesen zweimal über die Bluetooth-Verbindung läuft (je einmal zur
Sprechanlage und zurück), kann je nach verwendetem Bluetooth-Helm die eigene Stimme
(der sogenannte Seitenton) mehr oder weniger verzögert, wie ein Hall oder Echo zu hören
sein. Wir empfehlen in diesem Fall die Lautstärke der eigenen Stimme nur so hoch wie
unbedingt nötig einzustellen.

Betrieb bei hohen Umgebungsgeräuschen optimiert. Daher können im
Ruhezustand leichte Grundgeräusche zu hören sein (Dynamikumfang).
Keine Duplex/Stereo-Umschaltung oder unerklärliche Fehlfunktionen:
Geräte aus- und wieder einschalten.
Fahrzeugstörungen beim Bluetooth-Helmconnector mit eigener Versorgung:
Bat.-Minus auftrennen oder störsichere Stromversorgung über AKE Power
Stabilizer.

Rahmen der zweijährigen Gewährleistung nach deutschem Recht.
Übergeben Sie das defekte Gerät ungeöffnet mit einer ausführlichen
Fehlerbeschreibung Ihrem Fachhändler, oder schicken Sie es mit Ihrem
Kaufbeleg direkt an unsere Serviceabteilung, bei Fremdeingriff erlischt
jeder Garantieanspruch!

Dieses Gerät wurde nach den neuesten technischen Anforde-
rungen hergestellt und geprüft. Ausführliche Informationen
hinsichtlich der CE-Kennzeichnung bei AKE, 73230 Kirchheim
Hinweise zum Recycling nach dem Elektrogerätegesetz
Dieses Gerät entspricht der neuen europäischen ROHS Richt-
linie. Sollte es eines Tages nicht mehr gebraucht werden, darf es
nicht über den Hausmüll entsorgt werden, sondern muss bei
den extra für Elektronikschrott eingerichteten kommunalen
Sammelstellen abgegeben werden (für Endverbraucher
kostenfrei), Sie unterstützen uns damit beim Recycling wertvoller

Examples of use
General Information
The Bluetooth Helmet Connector BT-HC2 D&S from AKE allows to
operate with various Bluetooth helmets and wired helmet intercoms. It is
availible for AKE PowerCom motorbike communication- and entertain-
ment systems, as well as for other systems such as Baehr helmet intercom,
Honda Goldwing intercom, Harley Davidson Boom Box and others.
Using the Bluetooth Helmet Connector you have the choice between
duplex- and stereo-mode. The duplex-mode allwos the signal of your

headset profil (HSP) to be transfered into two directions. The stereo-mode
supports the A2DP (2-channel audio profil) and thus allows a high quality
signal to be transfered to the helmet. You can easily switch between both
modes by pressing the operating button. Used on a AKE PowerCom
system the optimal profile is automatically activated when driving solo.
Please note that we can not guarantee the
functionality, when used in combination with
Bluetooth helmet sets from other manufacturers
AKE also provides you with preconfigured complete sets constisting
of one Bluetooth Helmet Connector and one Stealth Bluetooth Helmet

Requirements
1. A motorbike intercom system from AKE (PowerCom-series), Baehr,
Harley Davidson (Boom Box), Honda Goldwing, etc.
2. A Bluetooth helmet or an adequate Bluetooth system with charged
battery, password if required: 0000, 1111 or 1234, supported profiles:
HSP/HFP 1.5 for Duplex and A2DP for Stereo .
3. All used Bluetooth components must be within the reach of the Bluetooth
connection, the Bluetooth helmets might well be on different motorbikes.

4. Due to shadowing effects or interferences it is possible that the range is
considerably reduced. Therefore, we do not recommend installing
Bluetooth modules directly under the petrol tank
5. With the use of several Bluetooth modules we recommend to assem-
ble them separate from each other. At close ranges (less than approx.
50 cm) Bluetooth devices might interfere with each other (click noise)
Installation on the vehicle
Connect the power supply to the active on board power system
(clamp 30, light- or accessory power) or via a 12 V switch, this is
best done by an expert. Not required with AKE PowerCom.
Plug-in Version: Plug into the jack for the helmet connection of
the bike and ready to use.
Build-in Version: Should be
assembled by a specialist. Assembly
leads are found on our website.
We recommend testing the combina-
tion before installation, for lack of gua-
rantee that all Bluetooth devices are
compatible.
Pairing of the Bluetooth devices
If the devices are already paired, you can ignore this chapter.
The new Bluetooth Helmet Connector will automatically go into pairing
mode when switching on. This can be seen at the alternately flashing of the
control LEDs.
Hold your Bluetooth helmet or helmet set close to the AKE Bluetooth
Helmet Connector and make sure that no other Bluetooth device in the
area is ready for pairing. Now promptly get your Bluetooth helmet or your
Bluetooth Helmet Set also into pairing mode for Bluetooth devices, e.g. cell
phone (ATTENTION: Do not use the Intercom pairing and do not try to pair
the Bluetooth helmet with the Harley Boom!™ Box). After a successful
pairing you will hear a short confirmation signal in the paired helmet and
the LEDs stop flashing alternately.
Deleting old pairings
We recommend to generally delete old pairings! Bring the respective

AKE Bluetooth Helmet Connector into pairing mode by turning it off and
on with the Bluetooth control button. Hold down the button when switching
on until the pairing mode is signaled by alternate blinking of the LEDs. Now
shortly press the control button twice. A short interrupting of the LEDs
indicate that all pairings are deleted. Then switch the Bluetooth Helmet
Connector off and on again. Now the device will again automatically go
into pairing mode.
Establish the Bluetooth connection to the helmet
If your Bluetooth helmet allows this, the devices connect automatically
after switching on the power supply.
LED-indication plug-in version:
synchron. red and blue blinking:Partner not available
1 x short blue blinking: Duplex connection enabled
2 x short blue blinking: Stereo connection enabled
3 x short red and blue blinking: Partner out of range.
LED-indication build-in version (build in button with integrated display):

Control tone for Duplex communication on: low high , off: high low
It is always possible to switch between duplex and stereo transmission by
shortly pressing the multifunction button (5). Please note, it’s necessary to
switch to Duplex transmission, if the intercom is requested. The setting will be
stored.
Adjusting the microphone sensitivity
For this, the motorbike intercom should already be set correctly. For more
details, please see the operating instructions of the respective motorcycle
intercom.
Depending on the system, the trasmission quality and the speed limit for a
voice connection via bluetooth is always lower than the cable connection.
In addition the microphone signal may be louder or softer depending on
the built-in helmet bluetooth component.
For voice-operated systems (VOX) you can adjust the microphone sensitivi-
ty additional at the Bluetooth Helmet Connector. Trimmer (4) for maximum
sensivity turn completely to the right, for lowest noise completely turn
completely to the left.

Please note: Check while driving, but don´t adjust while driving!
Quality of Bluetooth transmission
Possible malfunctions
Voice connection only in one direction:
The Stereo mode is activated, push shortly the Bluetooth-operating-
button for switching to Duplex mode.
The connection to the helmet gets lost when starting the engine:
If starting the engine with a low battery and therefore the on-board power
breaks down impulsed below 9V, the electronic might turn off and on
several times, or e.g. switch between duplex and stereo mode! In this
case please start the helmet-intercom-system, with an additional switch,
after starting the engine. Please note: In some modern motorbikes, the
light is switched on only after the engine is started. Then supply the
electronics power with font light.
No Bluetooth connection after switching of and on again:
Before reconnecting the power, always wait about 4 seconds until the log
out of the Bluetooth Helmet Connector is completed. Otherwise it is
possible that it takes up to two minutes to reconnect or that the reconnec-
tion fails. Please note: Regarding some modern motorcycles , the light is
turned on only after the engine is started . In this case, connect the supply
of electronics to 12 V connection of the headlight.
Audio signal from the radio, etc. overdriven at higher speeds:
Adjust Bluetooth helmet set to high volume and reduce the volume of
accessories and intercom accordingly.
Some Bluetooth noise :
The Bluetooth-to-helmet connections are optimized for distortion-free
operation at high speed. Therefore, it’s possible to hear something ground
noise with engine off (dynamic range).
No Duplex / Stereo switching or unexplained malfunctions:
If the Bluetooth devices get mixed up, please turn them off and on again.
Duplex (HFP): Communication in the driver's helmet with optimal settings:
Until about 160 KM/h - good. Especially for the pillion poorer understanding
of speech is possible with loud helmet types and at high speed. Due to the

deferred. A higher volume may cause an echo and could be disturbing.
