1. About Your Device

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
Your phone has several unique identier numbers that
you may need for activation and other functions. You can
access these numbers as follows:
1. From the Home screen, press the OK key.
2. Using the DOWN Navigation key go to Settings. Press
the OK key.
3. Using the RIGHT Navigation key go to Device on the
top menu of your screen.
4. Device Information will appear highlighted. Press the
OK key.
5. Using the DOWN Navigation key go to More Information.
Press the OK Key.
• Serial Number appears under IMEI.
• Phone Number appears under Phone Number.
• SIM Number appears under ICCID.
Your SIM number begins with 89. You can also nd your
SIM number on the red Activation card enclosed in the
package or, on the SIM card.

2. Special Features

SCREEN
The Home screen displays the current time and date in
the center of the screen along with additional information
in the Status bar located at the top of the screen. This
is always visible and is where you can nd important
information about the status of your device including:
• SIM status
• Connection strength bars
• Wi-Fi connection
• Battery charge level
The bottom of the Home screen is where you can access
Notices (left) and Shortcuts (right) to frequently used
function by pressing the left/right soft key located at
the top of the keypad. The selection options will change
based on the screen you are using.
KEYPAD
Center OK Key
This key allows you to make or conrm the selection
that is showing on the screen.
• From the Home screen, press to access the
app list
• Press to conrm an option
Navigation Keys
The edges of the center OK key can be used to
navigate through menus and options that are
showing on the screen by simply pressing on the
edge of the direction you wish to move in.
• Press the top, bottom, left or right of the edge of
the center OK key to scroll through the options
on your screen
Messages Key
This key gives you quick access to the text messages
app.
• Press to start a new text message
• Press to go to an existing text message
conversation

Back/Clear Key
This is a multi-function key that lets you easily
complete several functions.
• Press to return to the previous screen, or to
close a dialog box or the options menu
• When you are entering text, press to delete the
last character entered
• Long press (press and hold) to delete all
characters at one time
Call Key
You will be able to complete several functions
related to phone calls from this key.
• Press to answer a call
• After you enter a phone number or a contact
name, press to start the call
• From the Home screen, press to see your call log
Power/End Key
• Press to turn the phone ON or OFF
• Press and hold to return to the Home screen
• When you are on a call, press to end the call
Camera Key
Located on the right side edge of the phone. You will
be able to complete several functions related to the
camera from this key.
• Press once to open the camera
• With the camera open, press one time to take a
picture or to start/stop recording a video
• Press and hold the Camera key and Volume Down
key at the same time to capture a screenshot
Volume Keys
Located on the right side edge of the phone. The UP
and DOWN volume keys let you adjust the volume for
dierent phone functions.
• During a phone call, press to adjust the volume of
the phone’s earpiece or the headset volume
• When the phone rings, press to mute the ringtone
• While you listen to music, video, or are streaming,
adjust the volume of the content
• With the phone closed or from the Home
screen, adjust the volume of the ringtone and of
notications you may have set

Display
• Invert Colors: Invert the colors on the screen to help
you see the content better. Most backgrounds will
appear in black with white text.
• Backlight: Brighten the screen to help you see the
content better. This mode may use more battery
power.
• Large Text: Make the text size bigger on the screen so
you can see it better.
Sounds
• Captions: Show captions to help the hearing impaired.
You can select the text size and caption style.
• Readout: Sets the device to read the labels of interface
elements and provides responses out loud.
• Mono Audio: Press to select mono or stereo sound for
your phone. Default mode is stereo.
• Volume Balance: Press to adjust the volume output
balance before you use the Volume keys.
Devices
• Keypad Vibration: Activate the keypad to notify you of
incoming calls with a vibration.
• TTY: For those who are deaf, have poor hearing, speech
or language impairments, TTY is an essential tool for
communicating by phone. You can set TTY to full, VCO,
or HCO depending on your needs.
• Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC): Hearing aid mode
can be used by people who are deaf, have poor hearing
or speech impairments. After connecting the phone
and hearing aid device, calls are linked to a relay
service, which converts incoming speech to text for the
person using the hearing aid and converts outgoing
text from the hearing aid device to a spoken voice for
the person on the other end of the conversation.

BROWSER

Your service plan includes data that you can use to
connect to the mobile web with the browser. You can
keep informed about the latest news, sports, weather,
entertainment, and more directly from your phone.
Data usage begins when your phone connects to the web
and ends when the data connection terminates. Total data
charges will depend on the actual time it takes to access
or view the web site you are connecting to, and the actual
size and time it takes to download or transmit the content
or multimedia message.
IMPORTANT: After your phone is Active, it may take up to
1 hour to access the mobile web.
CALENDAR

Home screen > OK key > scroll to Calendar > OK key
You can keep track of events, meetings, appointments
and other reminders by using the calendar, so you can
be sure not to miss or overlap any of them. You can sync
your calendar to your Google (Gmail) account, or your
Yahoo account and your events will appear on all devices
connected to those accounts.
You can set the calendar to show on your screen by the
day, week, or month view so that you see all your entries
in the format you prefer. If you want, you can also set a
reminder for any calendar entry, and a reminder icon will
appear in the Status bar at the top of your screen as a
notication.

Camera resolution: 2MP
Video recording resolution: 320x240 @ 30fps
The pictures and videos you take with the phone’s camera
are, by default, saved to your phone’s Gallery. If you have
an optional memory card (not included) installed, you can
select to save pictures and videos to the memory card to
help keep memory space on your device available.
This device can support up to a 32GB microSD card.
Some memory cards may not be fully compatible.
Take a picture
You can take a picture using any of the ways listed below:
• With the camera open, tap the OK key.
• Press the camera key on the right edge of the phone.
Gallery

Home screen > OK key > scroll to Gallery > OK key
Launching the Gallery displays all the available visual
images stored on your device. Scroll to an image in the
gallery with the navigation keys, and select the Options
menu in order to delete, edit, share, select multiple
images at once, get the le information, lock, or sort and
group the image.
Settings
Before you take a picture, you can select from several
camera options.
• Zoom: Use the up/down navigation key to zoom in or
out before you take the picture.
• Self-timer: Set a time-delay of 3, 5, or 10 seconds to
automatically take a picture.
• Grid: Shows vertical and horizontal grid lines on the
screen to help you align the elements in the picture.
• Mode: Choose if you want to take pictures or video.
The video option lets you select low, standard, or
high-resolution video.

The built-in clock feature in your phone displays the time
of day on the Home screen. In addition, the clock also has
alarm, timer, and stop-watch functions for your various
needs.
• Alarm: Set the alarm time, the days it will repeat, the
ringtone you prefer, and give it a name.
• Timer: You can set the hour, minute, and seconds of
the timer to accommodate your needs.
• Stopwatch: This feature lets you measure the length
of an event in a continuous timeline or in sections
labeled as laps.
CONTACTS

Home screen > OK key > scroll to Contacts > OK key
You can easily access the people you want to reach by
simply creating a contact entry for them. You’ll be able
to import, export, move, manage and sync your contacts
with devices that are connected to your Google (Gmail)
account.
For easier access you can set speed-dial contacts for
those you communicate with frequently. Additionally,
you can set two contacts for “In Case of Emergency” calls.

Your music

You can listen to music les stored in your phone. You
can download music from your computer with a USB
cable. Music les will use the memory space of your
device.
FM Radio

Your phone includes radio functionality so you can listen
to your favorite stations. You must plug in your headset
rst, which works as an FM radio antenna. You will be
able to access and store your favorite channels and enjoy
any visual information that relates to the station on the
display if the station that oers that service.

TEXT MESSAGES

Press the Messaging key
The messaging feature is a great way to communicate
with others through text messages (SMS) and multimedia
messages (MMS). You will be able to share pictures, video
clips, and contacts with other compatible phones and to
email addresses.
Type a message
To type a message, you will use the main keypad on the
phone along with the navigation keys.
• For normal text (letters) input, press a number key, 2-9,
repeatedly until the desired character is displayed. If
the next letter your want is located on the same key as
the present one, wait until the cursor shows again.
• For numbers 1,2,3... long-press the corresponding key
to get the number you want.
• To insert a punctuation mark or special character,
press the *key, use the navigation keys to scroll to the
symbol, then press the OK key.
• If you want to delete letters or symbols you already
typed, press the Back key to delete them one by one.
Predictive text mode
Using the predictive text mode, the phone will display a
suggested word, based on an internal dictionary, after
you start typing. You can select the suggested word or
continue typing.
• To set predictive text mode or another desired text
input mode, select: Settings > Personalization > Input
methods.
• Press the #key to switch among abc > ABC > 123 >
predictive > Abc modes.

Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is a term used for a wireless network technology
that provides wireless high-speed internet and network
connections without using the data allocated to your
service plan. When Wi-Fi is turned on, your device
automatically scans for available networks and displays
them so you can select one to connect to. You may be
required to enter a password to connect.
When you select a public/unprotected network, you are
automatically connected to that network. Connecting
to a public Wi-Fi network can leave your personal data
vulnerable, so it is important that you connect to known,
secure networks and set up passwords as necessary.

• Use the correct external power source
A product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the electrical ratings label.
If you are not sure of the type of power source required, consult your authorized service provider or local

• Handle battery packs carefully
This product contains a Lithium-ion polymer or Lithium-ion battery. There is a risk of fire and burns

Take extra precautions

Safety precautions for direct sunlight
Keep this product away from excessive moisture and extreme temperatures. Do not leave the product or
its battery inside a vehicle or in places where the temperature may exceed 140˚F (60˚C), such as on a car
dashboard, window sill, or behind a glass that is exposed to direct sunlight or strong ultraviolet light for
extended periods of time. This may damage the product, overheat the battery, or pose a risk to the vehicle. 18

CAUTION: Permanent hearing loss may occur if earphones or headphones are used at high volume for
prolonged periods of time.
Safety in aircraft
Due to the possible interference caused by this product to an aircraft’s navigation system and its
communications network, using this device’s phone function on board an airplane is against the law in most
countries. If you want to use this device when on board an aircraft, remember to turn off your phone by
switching to Airplane Mode.
Environment restrictions
Do not use this product in gas stations, fuel depots, chemical plants or where blasting operations are in
progress, or in potentially explosive atmospheres such as fueling areas, fuel storehouses, below deck on
boats, chemical plants, fuel or chemical transfer or storage facilities, and areas where the air contains
chemicals or particles, such as grain, dust, or metal powders. Please be aware that sparks in such areas
could cause an explosion or fire resulting in bodily injury or even death.
Explosive atmospheres
When in any area with a potentially explosive atmosphere or where flammable materials exist, the product
should be turned off and the user should obey all signs and instructions. Sparks in such areas could cause
an explosion or fire resulting in bodily injury or even death. Users are advised not to use the equipment at
refueling points such as service or gas stations, and are reminded of the need to observe restrictions on the
use of radio equipment in fuel depots, chemical plants, or where blasting operations are in progress. Areas

Road safety
Full attention must be given to driving at all times in order to reduce the risk of an accident. Using a phone
while driving (even with a hands-free kit) may cause distraction and can lead to an accident. You must comply
with local laws and regulations restricting the use of wireless devices while driving.

• Avoid using your phone near metal structures (for example, the steel frame of a building). 
• Avoid using your phone near strong electromagnetic sources, such as microwave ovens, sound speakers,
TV and radio. 
• Use only original manufacturer-approved accessories, or accessories that do not contain any metal. 
• Use of non-original manufacturer-approved accessories may violate your local RF exposure guidelines
and should be avoided.
Interference with medical equipment functions
This product may cause medical equipment to malfunction. The use of this device is forbidden in most
hospitals and medical clinics.
If you use any other personal medical device, consult the manufacturer of your device to determine if they are
adequately shielded from external RF energy. Your physician may be able to assist you in obtaining this information.
Turn your phone OFF in health care facilities when any regulations posted in these areas instruct you to do
so. Hospitals or health care facilities may be using equipment that could be sensitive to external RF energy.
Nonionizing radiation
Your device has an internal antenna. This product should be operated in its normal-use position to ensure the
radiative performance and safety of the interference. As with other mobile radio transmitting equipment, users
are advised that for satisfactory operation of the equipment and for the safety of personnel, it is recommended
that no part of the human body be allowed to come too close to the antenna during operation of the equipment.
Use only the supplied integral antenna. Use of unauthorized or modified antennas may impair call quality and
damage the phone, causing loss of performance and SAR levels exceeding the recommended limits as well
as result in non-compliance with local regulatory requirements in your country.
To assure optimal phone performance and ensure human exposure to RF energy is within the guidelines
set forth in the relevant standards, always use your device only in its normal-use position. Contact with the
antenna area may impair call quality and cause your device to operate at a higher power level than needed.
Avoiding contact with the antenna area when the phone is IN USE optimizes the antenna performance and
the battery life.

Faulty and damaged products
• Do not attempt to disassemble the phone or its accessory.
• Only qualified personnel must service or repair the phone or its accessory.
General precautions
You alone are responsible for how you use your phone and any consequences of its use. You must always
switch off your phone wherever the use of a phone is prohibited. Use of your phone is subject to safety
measures designed to protect users and their environment. 
Avoid applying excessive pressure to the device
Do not apply excessive pressure on the screen and the device to prevent damaging them and remove the
device from your pants’ pocket before sitting down. It is also recommended that you store the device in a
protective case and only use the device stylus or your finger when interacting with the touchscreen. Cracked
display screens due to improper handling are not covered by the warranty. 
Device getting warm after prolonged use
When using your device for prolonged periods of time, such as when you’re talking on the phone, charging
the battery or browsing the Web, the device may become warm. In most cases, this condition is normal and
therefore should not be interpreted as a problem with the device. 

Heed service markings
Except as explained elsewhere in the Operating or Service documentation, do not service any product yourself.
Service needed on components inside the device should be done by an authorized service technician or
provider. 
Protect your phone
• Always treat your phone and its accessories with care and keep them in a clean and dustfree place.
• Do not expose your phone or its accessories to open flames or lit tobacco products.
• Do not expose your phone or its accessories to liquid, moisture or high humidity.
• Do not drop, throw or try to bend your phone or its accessories.
• Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or aerosols to clean the device or its accessories.

Damage requiring service
Unplug the product from the electrical outlet and refer servicing to an authorized service technician or provider
under the following conditions:
• Liquid has been spilled or an object has fallen into the product.
• The product has been exposed to rain or water.
• The product has been dropped or damaged.
• There are noticeable signs of overheating.
