INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing our Alcom retro design phone. This manual is designed to familiarize
you with this phone. To get maximum use from your new phone, we suggest that you read this
Instruction Manual carefully before using.
SAFETYINSTRUCTION
When using your telephone equipment, the following basic safety precautions should always be
followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury to persons:
1. Read, understand and follow all warnings and instructions.
2. Unplug the product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol
cleaners. Use a soft damp cloth for cleaning.
3. Do not place this product on unstable surfaces. The product may drop, causing serious
damage to the product.
4. Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result in fire or electric shock.
5. Never push objects of any kind into this product through cabinet slots as they may affect
dangerous voltage points or short circuit parts that could result in fire or electric shock. Never
spill liquid on the product.
6. Avoid moving or disconnecting this unit during a heavy storm, as there may be a remote risk
of electric shock from lightning and thunder.
7. Unauthorized persons cannot open or service even if there is a defect with the unit. This will
void the warranty, please send to service center for any defects.

OPERATING INSTRUCION
GETTINGSTARTED
1. The unit requires 3×1.5V AAA batteries. Open the battery compartment cover and insert the
batteries in the right polarity, then close the cover (Suggest to use alkaline battery). Clock
with date should appear on the LCD screen after the batteries are inserted. Set the clock and
date.
2. Take out handset and curly cord, and plug into handset jack, and plug the 3.5mm jack-plug
into jack on the base.
3. Insert one end of the line cord to the line jack of the base and the other end to the wall outlet
of exchange.
4. Set the correct dialing mode (P or T) as required by your local telecom service provider.
5. Apply for the caller ID from your local telecom office.
Caution: This phone does not have a mechanical hook switch, but it has a magnetic hook switch. Hence
place the handset in its desired cradle correctly to avoid the line been engaged always. When the corded
handset is unplugged the magnetic hook switch will be automatically disabled and the base can be used as
speaker phone to receive or make calls.
RECEIVINGCALLS
1. When a call comes, the telephone rings, and LCD displays the seq. number of the call, the
date, time, incoming number and the NEW icon.
2. For the repeated incoming call, the LCD displays REP icon. When the incoming memory is
full, the latest incoming number replaces the oldest number in the memory.
Note: For the phone to display incoming number and other information, you must have an active Caller ID
subscription with your local telephone exchange company. Generally telecom transmits the incoming
message (eg. Caller ID Info) between the first ring and the second ring. So please answer the telephone after
the second ring.
¾From the handset
1. Pick up the handset and talk to the other party
2. After finished, return the handset to the base.
¾Switch to hands free mode
1. When using the handset, press key and return the handset to the base.
2. After finished, press key again.
¾In hands free mode
1. When the telephone rings, press key and talk to the caller.
2. After finished, press key again.
Note: In hands free mode for the other party to hear your voice clearly, speak into the mic
on the base from a distance of 32cm or less.
MAKING A CALL
¾From the handset
1. Pick up the handset.
2. When hearing the dial tone, dial the desired number.

3. The unit will start to time the conversation after 6 seconds.
4. After finished, return the handset to the base.
¾In hands free mode
1. Press key.
2. When hearing the dial tone, dial the desired number.
3. The unit will start to time the conversation after 6 seconds.
4. After finished, press key again.
¾Redialing function
1. Pick up the handset, or press key.
2. Press RD key, the number dialed will be dialed out again.
¾Pre-dialing function
1. When the handset is on the base, dial the desired number.
2. If there is a wrong entry, use DEL key to delete.
3. Press RD key, the number will be dialed out.
¾Auto-redial
1. Press key, dial a number, if you hear an engaged tone.
2. Press RD key and the last dialed number will be redialed automatically at every 6 seconds
until the line is through.
While auto-redialing, pick up the handset or press key will end the dialing.
REVIEWING, CALLING BACK AND DELETING INCOMING CALL
The telephone can record 28 Incoming calls. When the memory is full, the earliest one will be
replaced.
If the call is from a private caller, LCD will display”…p…”
When incoming call is from an area without Caller ID service, LCD displays”…o…”
¾Reviewing
1. In on-hook or off-hook state.
2. Press ▲or ▼key to scroll and review the numbers.
3. When all records are checked, LCD displays …END…
¾Calling back
¾Scroll to the desired number, press RD key to dial out the number.
1. Press RD key twice, the telephone auto-add “0” to long distance call number and dial it out.
Calling back the local area call: The telephone can auto filter local area code, after setting the
local area code (Refer to local area code setting).
¾Deleting incoming call
1. Review the desired incoming number.
2. Press DEL key to delete the number, then LCD displays the next number.
Note: Press DEL key for 3 seconds, all the incoming message will be erased.

REVIEWING, CALLING BACK AND DELETING OUTGOING CALL
The phone can record 5 outgoing calls, sequence number and conversation time. You may
review, call back and delete outgoing calls. If over 5 outgoing calls, the earliest one will be
replaced. When you review outgoing call, LCD will not display real date and time, but display the
conversation time.
¾Reviewing
1. In on-hook or off-hook state.
2. Press OUT key, LCD displays the last dialed number.
3. Press OUT key continuously, LCD displays...END…after all outgoing numbers are reviewed.
¾Calling back
1. In on-hook or off-hook state.
2. Press OUT key to check the desired number.
3. Press RD key, the number will be dialed out automatically.
¾Deleting
1. In on-hook or off-hook state, press OUT key to check the number.
2. Press DEL key to erase it, and LCD displays the next number.
Note: Press DEL key for 3 seconds, all the outgoing calls will be erased.
MULTIFUNCTION HANDSET
The handset can be used to make and receive calls connecting it to a smart phone that has an
audio jack compatible with 3.5 mm type jack, and you can have a radiation free conversation
using the mobile phone.
Note: The telephone can be used only in hands free mode when you unplug the handset.
This handset may not be compatible and work with all smart phones.
SETTINGMENU
SETTINGDATEANDTIME
1. In on-hook state, press SET key, LCD displays SET 1 DATE.
2. Press SET key, the last two digits of year flash.
3. Press ▲or ▼key to edit the year, press SET key to confirm, by using the same method to set
the month, date, hour and minute.
4. Press DEL key to quit.
NOTE: Month: 1-12 Date: 1-31 Hour: 00-23 Minute: 00-59.
SETTING LOCAL AREA CODE
1. In on-hook state, press SET key and then press ▲key, LCD will display SET 2 CODE
2. Press SET key again, LCD displays CODE -----
3. Press ▲or ▼key to set the first digit of local area code.
4. Press SET key to confirm and enter the second digit setting, follow same steps to set the last
4 digits.

5. Press DEL key to quit.
Note: If the local area code is only 4 digits, the last digit can be left as “-”.
After local area code is set, unit will auto-filter the area code if the incoming call number with the first
several digits as same as the local area code. This function is not applicable for use in Singapore.
SETTING AND USING PABX CODE FUNCTION(Only when connected to a PABX line)
1. In on-hook state, press SET key and then press ▲key twice, LCD will display SET 3
PCODE.
2. Press SET key to confirm, LCD displays PCODE --, the first “-“flash and indicate to set the
first digit of PABX code.
3. Press ▲or ▼key to set the PABX code. Press SET key to confirm and enter the second digit
setting.
4. Following same steps to set the second digit.
5. To use this function, when you want to call back an incoming number, just choose the desired
number from the list and press RD key, and the unit will dial out the number with the PABX
code. Similarly when you key a pre-dial number, just press RD key and the unit will dial the
number with the PABX code with or without pause depending on your setting as seen in
below note.
Note: If your PABX code is only one digit and if you need a pause, then enter code in the first digit and
leave second digit as“-“. If you don’t need a pause then leave the first digit as “-“ and enter the
code in the second digit.
SETTING DIALING TYPE
1. In on-hook state, press SET key and then press ▲key fourth, LCD will display SET 5 P-T.
2. Press SET key to confirm, LCD displays TONE, press ▲or ▼key to select T (TONE) or P
(PULSE).
SETTING ANTI-STEAL DIALING FUNCTION
1. In on-hook state, press SET key and then press ▲key fifth, LCD displays SET 6 ALAR
2. Press SET key to confirm, LCD displays ALAR OFF, press ▲or ▼key to select ON or OFF.
3. Press SET key to confirm.
When the anti-steal dialing is set to ON, users who want to dial using an extension via the same
line will hear a “DI-DI, DI-DI” beep continuously and will not be allowed to make a call.
SETTING LCD CONTRAST FUNCTION
1. In on-hook state, press SET key and then press ▲key seventh, LCD displays SET 7 LCD
2. Press SET to enter, LCD displays LCD 3, press ▲or ▼to select among 1~5 levels.
3. Press SET key to confirm and exit.

In on-hook state, press HOLD/RING key downwards , LCD display RING 01.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
Problems Actions
No Dial Tone
Check if the phone is connected to the line and
ensure the line is functional.Check if the handset
cord 3.5mm plug is inserted is into the base
properly.
Most of the operators adopt TONE dialing. Please
check if your phone is set to TONE dialing
Only can receive calls. Cannot make
outgoing calls.
Not able to get through automated
phone services. (Eg. Phone banking
Set PULSE mode only for older type of phone
lines. Please check with your operator for
required setting.
Check if the connector of telephone line is moist.The phone rings once then is
interrupted, but dialing function works
well. Check if too many paralleled phones are used
together. Remove or replace some of them.
Noise during conversation Check if the wall socket of telephone line is moist
or rusty. Replace accordingly.

Phone does not ring for incoming calls Check if RING OFF is selected – Select other ring
melody if the current one is soft.
Check if the batteries voltage is too low - Replace
the batteries (Please don’t mix old and new
batteries to use).Check if batteries or leaked and
the contacts are rusted. Try and clean the
contacts before inserting new batteries.
No LCD backlight or it becomes dim.
Check if the LCD contrast is set properly – Select
a proper level.
Check if the batteries voltage is too low - Replace
the batteries.
Most of the mentioned functions fails
Reset the phone – Disconnect telephone line and
remove batteries, reinstall them after 15 minutes.
