Product Parts Diagram
Using and Maintenance of Battery and Charger
1. Before using for the first time, connect bottle to adapter and fully charge. The red-light
flashes while charging and stops flashing when charging is complete.
2. Keep charger dry and avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
3. The battery has an expected life of 400 charges.
4. ONLY USE THE CHARGER PROVIDED to charge your Hydrogen Pod. DO NOT connect
the Hydrogen Pod to any other device for charging, as it may damage the device.
5. Keeping the Hydrogen Pod plugged in all day and during use may prematurely cause
the battery to fail or potential may catch on fire.
6. DO NOT Keep the Hydrogen Pod plugged in.
7. DO NOT turn power on when there is no water in the bottle or covering the
electrode plates!

Instructions to Operate
1. Unscrew the glass bottle from the unit. Clean the glass bottle with warm soapy water
and dry before using.
2. Remove the rubber plug from the base (keep aside and store in a safe place). After
using the Hydrogen Pod leave a little water covering the plates (wet), then replace the
rubber plug to keep the electrode plates from drying out.
3. Screw glass bottle back onto the base.
4. Before using the bottle for the first time
a. Fill the bottom of bottle with 25mm (1 inch) of water and let sit for 4 hours to
saturate the Solid Polymer Electrolyte (SPE) membrane. If the bottle is left dry
for long periods of time you will want to repeat this step.
5. Unscrew top cap. Fill glass bottle with good quality (filtered) drinking water to 25mm
below the rim, then screw lid back on firmly.
6. Must be used on a solid flat surface.
7. Power button selections:
a. Pressing once: The power button indicator light will turn blue, producing
hydrogen (H2) for 5 minutes.
b. Pressing twice: will turn the indicator light green, producing 7 minutes of
hydrogen (H2) production.
c. Pressing the button for a third time will turn power off.
8. Once the Hydrogen (H2) production is completed the power button light will turn off.
9. You can drink the hydrogen water directly out of the glass bottle or pour it into another
glass or bottle. It is best to drink water within one hour as hydrogen will dissipate
rapidly over time.
10. If the power button light flashes red, this means the battery power is low and needs
to be charged.
Keeping the Hydrogen Pod plugged in all day and during use may prematurely cause
the battery to fail.
DO NOT Keep the Hydrogen Pod plugged in.
11. After using the Hydrogen Pod 3 or more times, there may be a little wastewater in the
waste chamber. Unscrew the bottom section of the base unit and discard the water. If
there is no water in the waste chamber operate as normal. The Hydrogen Pod controls

pressure so that waste Ozone (O3) and Chlorine (CL) can be discharged as a gas.
12. Attaching a drinking water bottle.
a. Choose a suitable bottle adaptor ring that matches the thread on the bottle neck.
b. Screw to the bottle adaptor ring into the top of the base firmly. Use the generator
cover on its edge, aligning its edge with the notches in the bottle adaptor ring and
tighten (refer to image above).
c. Fill bottle with good quality (filtered) drinking water to just below the bottles
thread.
d. Screw the generator base unit onto the bottle check for leaks.
e. Turn over the assembly so the base unit is beneath the bottle (refer the image
above).
f. Then follow instruction number 6 above to start the hydrogen generator.
Maintenance Method
•Daily cleaning: Rinse inside of bottle with water. Fill half full and shake vigorously. Pour
off water leaving a small amount in bottom covering the electrode plate, then replace
rubber plug and screw on glass bottle.
•Periodic cleaning: Use citric acid to clean the electrode plates. These plates are located
in the top of the base unit. Over time these plates collect mineral deposits and scale.
To clean, fill bottle half way and drop in 5 grams of citric acid, allow to soak for 2 hours,
shake several times and pour off dirty water. Rinse again with clean water.
•Odour treatment: After long periods of use the bottle may give off an odour. Pour in
60°C to 70°C hot water and soak for 5 minutes to eliminate. DO NOT use water over
80°C in the bottle.
•DO NOT POUR BOILING WATER INTO THE GLASS BOTTLE IT WILL DAMAGE OR BREAK
THE GLASS.
•DO NOT clean glass bottle with detergents or volatile solvents. Mild soap and water
work best to clean the glass bottle.
•DO NOT soak the base unit in water. It contains electrical components that can be
damaged by immersing in water.

Important Information
1. This Hydrogen Pod is not a water filter.
2. We recommend to only use filtered water or high-quality water in the Hydrogen Pod
(i.e. UltraStream water or purified or filtered water).
3. To receive the best results and the highest quality Hydrogen (H2) water we recommend
using good quality drinking water (UltraStream water or purified or filtered water).
4. DO NOT use soda drinks in the hydrogen generator. They will generate too much
pressure that can damage the glass bottle and the generator.
5. Storage of hydrogen water: It is best to drink water within one hour as hydrogen will
dissipate rapidly over time. You may store the Hydrogen water in the refrigerator. A
sealed container will keep it active for approximately 1 hour or longer if need be.
6. Keep the bottle away from direct sunlight.
7. Keep the bottle away from freezing temperatures.
8. Warranty service should only be done by an AlkaWay-authorized repair person.
