Thank you for choosing the ITO pushchair from
Alvema. The pushchair is designed for disabled
children to be used both indoor and outdoor.
Please study the manual carefully and follow
all safety instructions. This will ensure that you
get the best use from your new chair.

INLEDNING
Tack för att ni har valt vagnen ITO från Alve-
ma. Vagnen är avsedd för att transportera barn
med rörelsehinder och konstruerad för att an-
vändas både inom- och utomhus. Vi hoppas att
den ska vara till nytta och nöje för alla. Vi ber
er följa bruksanvisningen noga för att på bästa
sätt kunna hantera er nya produkt.

SAFETY
• Read the manual carefully before use.
• Please note! The handle should be folded
when lifting the pushchair or using on the
stairs. Gripping the frame in front of the joint
will give better control of the child and the
pushchair and therefore be safer (20).
• Do not stand on the footplate, it should only
be used for supporting the feet while sitting
in the pushchair.
SAFETY
• Do not leave children unattended in the
pushchair.
•A bag attached to the frame adversely af-
fects stability and may cause the chair to tip
over.
• Never use defective equipment!
Do not attempt repairs yourself.
• For safety reasons, only an approved re-
pairer or your supplier must carry out re-
pairs. Original spare parts are recommend-
ed. Failure to observe this requirement will
invalidate your guarantee.
• The harness included with the ITO is for
positioning purpose only and should not be
used as a dynamic restraint belt.

SÄKERHETSFÖRESKRIFTER
• Läs igenom bruksanvisningen noga innan
vagnen tas i bruk.
• Tänk på att fälla ned handtaget vid trapp-
körning och lyft. Ett grepp i chassit framför
leden ger ökad kontroll av vagn och barn
och därmed ökad säkerhet (bild 20).
• Stå aldrig på fotstödet, det ska enbart an-
vändas för att vila fötterna på när man sitter
i vagnen.
SÄKERHETSFÖRESKRIFTER
• Att inte lämna vagnen oövervakad hos
barnet.
•Att en väska som fästs på vagnen
påverkar stabiliteten och ökar tipprisken.
• Defekt hjälpmedel får inte användas! Gör
inga ingrepp själv.
• Service och ev. reparationer bör utföras
av ett av leverantören godkänt serviceföre-
tag. Originala reservdelar rekommenderas.
• Västen som kan levereras med som till-
behör till Alvema ITO är endast till för posi-
tioneringssyfte och skall inte användas som
säkerhetsbälte.

UNPACKING THE ITO
• Remove the pushchair from the box (1).
• Remove the protective plastic from the
wheels before use.
• Unfold the pushchair with one action (2).
Check the folding guards and engage them
if necessary.
• Press in both buttons and angle the handle
up (3).
• Place the cushion on the backrest, and at-
tach the loops around the knobs on the back
of the seat (4). Fix the seat
cushion to the Velcro on the seat (5).
• Cover the pelvic supports with the pads
and lock the Velcro (6).
• Attach the waist-belt straps by threading
them through the loops under the seat plate,
then thread back.(7).

ATT PACKA UPP ITO
• Lyft vagnen ur kartongen (1).
• Avlägsna skyddsplasten innan användning.
• Fäll upp vagnen med en rörelse (2). Se till så
att hylsorna låser konstruktionen.
• Tryck in båda knapparna och vinkla upp hand-
taget (3).
• Lägg ryggdynan på ryggen. Fäst gummi-
öglorna runt knopparna på ryggen (4).
Fäst sittdynan på sitsens kardborre (5).
• Trä på hättorna på sidostöden (6) och lås
kardborren.
•Fäst midjebältets remmar genom att trä re-
mmarna genom öglorna under sitsplåten, trä
sedan tillbaka (7).
Er ITO är nu färdig att ställas in efter individu-
ella mått (8).

FOLDING THE ITO
• Fold down the safety catch (9) and pull up
the sleeves (10).
• Push the back forwards (11). To minimize
the volume of the folded pushchair, the back
should be in the most upright position.
• If the back extender is used, the footplate
needs to be folded, otherwise this is not nec-
essary.
• Angle the handle down by pressing in both
buttons and then turning the handle down
(12).
Caution!/NB! Risk of catching.

ATT FÄLLA IHOP ITO
• Vik undan säkerhetsspärren (9) och dra hyl-
sorna uppåt (10).
• Fäll ryggen framåt (11). Ryggen ska vara i
upprätt läge för minsta möjliga hopfällnings-
volym.
• Används ryggförlängaren bör fotstödet fällas
in, annars inte.
• Vinkla ned handtaget genom att trycka in
båda knapparna och sedan vrida ned hand-
taget (12).
OBS! Var uppmärksam på klämrisken.

ADJUSTMENTS
Footplate adjustment
• Adjust the height of the footplate using a
spanner/wrench (13). Release the nuts, set
height and re-tighten (14).
• The mesh can be removed for washing by
releasing the Velcro on the back of the foot-
plate. Pull the straps out of the slots.
Width adjustments
• The seat width is adjusted by loosening the
two outer screws under the seat (15). Adjust
the pelvic supports to the desired position
and angle and retighten the screws (16).
Depth adjustments
• The seat depth is adjusted by loosening
the two screws on the tubes under the seat
(17). Pull the seat to the desired length and
retighten the screws (18).

INSTÄLLNINGAR
Fotstödsjustering
• Fotplattans höjd regleras genom att man
med en hylsnyckel lossar muttrarna (13). Ställ
in stödet på rätt höjd och skruva åt muttrarna
igen (14).
• Hälnätet kan tas av för tvätt genom att kard-
borren lossas och remmarna dras ut genom
skårorna.
Sittbredd
• Önskad sittbredd justeras genom att de yt-
tre svarta vreden på sitsens undersida lossas
(15). Dra sidostöden till önskat läge och vinkel
och dra åt vreden (16).
Sittdjup
• Önskat sittdjup justeras genom att de inre
svarta vreden på sitsens undersida lossas
(17). Dra ut plåten till önskat djup och dra åt
vreden (18).

ADJUSTMENTS
Push-Handle adjustment
•To adjust the angle of the handle press in
both buttons (19). Angle the handle and re-
lease the buttons again (20).
Please note! The handle should be folded
when lifting the pushchair or using on the
stairs. Gripping the frame in front of the joint
will give better control of the child and the
pushchair and therefore be safer (21).
Tilt adjustment
• The tilt of the seat can be adjusted by pull-
ing the bar upwards
(22). Tilt the seat to the desired angle and
release the bar (23).

Handtagsjustering
• För att justera vinkeln på handtaget tryck in
båda knapparna (19). Vinkla handtaget och
släpp tillbaka knapparna (20).
Tänk på att fälla ned handtaget vid trappkörn-
ing och lyft. Ett grepp i chassit framför leden
ger ökad kontroll av vagn och barn och därmed
ökad säkerhet (21).
Tiltjustering
• Sitsvinkeln justeras genom att dra staget up-
påt (22). Luta sitsen till önskad vinkel och släpp
sedan staget (23).

ASSEMBLY
Back extender
• Place the extender piece in the tubes on
the back piece of the pushchair (24).
• Attach the loops around the knobs on the
back of the seat (25)

CHANGING WHEELS
From castor wheels to xed wheels
• Loosen the screw on the wheel axis and
remove the castor wheel (26).
• Loosen the nut under the fork with a
wrench.
• Loosen the screw on the frame and remove
the fork (27).
• Put the xed wheel in place and tighten the
screw on the frame (28).
• Tighten the screw on the middle bar.
From xed wheels to castor wheels
• Loosen the screws on the middle bar and
on the frame (29). Remove the wheel.
• Put the fork in place and tighten the screw
on the frame (28).
• Tighten the screw under the fork with a
wrench (27).
• Mount the castor wheel and tighten the
screw in the axis (26). Use Locktite on the
screws.

HJULBYTE
Från länkhjul till fasta hjul
• Skruva loss axelskruven och ta loss länkhju-
let (26).
• Lossa på muttern under gaffeln med ett verktyg.
• Lossa på skruven på chassit och avlägsna
gaffeln (27).
• Montera på det fasta hjulet och dra åt skruven
på chassit (28).
• Dra åt skruven på tvärstaget.
Från fasta hjul till länkhjul
• Lossa på skruvarna på chassit och på tvär-
staget (29). Avlägsna hjulet.
• Montera på länkhjulsgaffeln och dra åt skru-
ven på chassit (28).
• Dra åt muttern under gaffeln med ett verktyg
(27).
• Sätt länkhjulet på plats och skruva i axelskru-
ven (26). Använd Locktite på skruvarna.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE
The cushion can be washed at 40˚C, spun and
drip-dried. Do not use fabric softener or deter-
gents with brightening agents. Iron after wash-
ing for best maintenance of the nish.
Do not dry clean!
Store the pushchair in a dry place out of bright
sunlight.
The frame should be cleaned with a cloth and
car shampoo/polish.
It is recommended that authorised technical
staff thoroughly inspect the aid twice a year.
Immediately contact your reseller if a fault
should appear.

TRANSPORT
Please, follow these instructions to avoid
Injury of the child or/and damage of the
Pushchair during transit in motor vehicles
The ITO pushchair is designed to meet the
requirements of ANSI/RESNA WC/Vol. 1-Sec-
tion 19 regarding transportation of a wheel-
chair in a vehicle.
The ITO is capable of transporting users who
are the following sizes:
Small ITO - Maximum Height = 47” (120cm)
Maximum Weight = 55 lbs. (25kg)
Large ITO - Maximum Height = 57” (145cm)
Maximum Weight = 88 lbs. (40kg
The ITO has been dynamically crash tested
for use with an approved four point wheelchair
tie-down system, such as the “Q’Straint (with
lap and shoulder belt.) The ITO showed mini-
mum lateral displacement (2mm) when tested
under ANSI/RESNA WC-19 Lateral Stability
test using a standard tie-down system. The
illustration opposite indicates the four anchor
locations for securing the wheelchair tie-down
system to the ITO pushchair. Refer to the
manufacturer’s tie-down instructions for fur-
ther information.

UNDERHÅLL
Dynan kan tvättas i 40˚C, centrifugeras och
dropptorkas. Använd ej blek- eller sköljmedel.
Strykning efter tvätt bibehåller den äckav-
visande behandlingen på bästa sätt. Obs! Ej
kemtvätt! Förvara inte vagnen utomhus under
längre tid. Skydda från regn och starkt sol-
sken.
Chassit rengörs med bilschampo/polish.
Översyn av hjälpmedlet rekommenderas att
göras två ggr/år av behörig teknisk personal.
Om ditt hjälpmedel inte är i fullgott skick ta kon-
takt med din återförsäljare.

TRANSPORT
Var god följ dessas instruktioner för att undvika
skador på barnet och/eller vagnen vid transport
i motorfordon.
Alvema ITO är konstruerad för att klara kraven
i standarden ANSI / RESNA WC/Vol.1-Section
19 som gäller transport av rullstol i skolbuss.
Den klarar även kraven för krocktest i stand-
arden ISO/CD 7176/19-1 Alvema ITO klarar att
transportera brukare av följande storlekar:
Small ITO – Max. längd =120 cm,
Max. vikt =25 kg.
Large ITO – Max. längd =145 cm,
Max. vikt =40 kg
Alvema ITO är krocktestad med ett godkänt fast-
spänningssystem för rullstolar, typ ”Q´Straint”.
(med midje- och axelbälte) Alvema ITO klarar
även en frontalkrock test i standarden ISO/CD
7176/19-1 vid Transportation Research Labo-
ratory Impact Test Group. Se gur på nästa sida
visar de fyra fästöglorna är placerade som skall
användas för att spänna fast vagnen. Krokarna
på fastspänningssytemet skall monteras nog-
grant i fästöglorna och remmarna spännas
åt ordentlig. Se vidare i instruktionerna från
tillverkaren av fastspänningssystemet.

TRANSPORT
Var god följ rekommendationerna från
tillverkaren av fastspänningsanordningen för
fastspänning av brukaren.
Fästöglorna för fastspänning vid transport är
fabriks monterade.
Figuren (30) visar placeringen av de fyra fästö-
glorna för transport. ITO har fyra fästpunkter.
Två på de bakre rambenen (A+B) och två på
de främre (C+D). Fästpunkterna är “D” for-
made öglor som bultas fast i ramen.
Använd endast bilens godkända fastspän-
nings utrustning mellan vagn och golv. Mid-
jebältet och eventuellt andra tillbehör för
positionering skall enbart användas för po-
sitioneringar av barnet. Vid transport i for-
don skall alltid fordonets bälte användas.

TRANSPORT
Please follow the wheelchair tie-down restraint
manufacturer’s instructions for securing the oc-
cupant restraint belt.
The attachment loops for fastening during
transportation are factory tted. The gure (30)
shows the positioning of the four attachment
loops for transportation. Two on the back legs
(A+B), two on the front legs (C+D). The anchor
points are “D” rings bolted to the chassis.
Only use the car’s approved fastening equip-
ment between the chair and oor. The vest har-
ness and other positioning accessories must
only be used to position the child. During trans-
portation in a vehicle the vehicle’s belt must al-
ways be used.

TRANSPORT
Warnings:
The ITO pushchair should be used only for
forward facing seating in motor vehicles. The
ITO should be used only as indicated in the
manufacturer’s instructions. ITO is crash-test-
ed using a forward-facing position and a pelvic
harness. Accessories such as vests and har-
nesses must only be used for positioning and
not as safety belts during vehicular transporta-
tion. A clear zone of 65cm (25”) should exist
in front of the child to prevent the child’s head
from contacting anything in a crash. Auxiliary
equipment attached to the ITO should be effec-
tively secured, or removed and secured in the
vehicle during transit, to prevent it from break-
ing free and causing injury to vehicle occupants
in a crash.
The ITO must not be changed, as this may af-
fect performance in the event of a crash.
The basket must always be tted to the chair.
The attachment straps must be tted between
the cross-tubes when the chair is being trans-
ported in a car with a child in the chair (31).

TRANSPORT
Varning:
ITO skall endast användas framåtvänd I mo-
torfordon. ITO skall endast användas enligt till-
verkarens anvisningar. ITO är krocktestad med
en framåtvänd position med höftbälte. Tillbehör
såsom västar och selar ska endast användas
för positioner och inte som säkerhetsbälte vid
transport i fordon. Ett fritt utrymme av 65 cm
bör nnas framför barnet för att förhindra ska-
dor på huvudet vid en krock. Extra utrustning
på ITO bör surras fast eller tas bort vid trans-
port i motorfordon för att förhindra att de loss-
nar och skadar medpassagerare vid en krock.
Förändring av ITO skall inte utföras då det kan
påverka prestanda vid en krock.
Korgen ska alltid vara monterad på vagnen.
Förtöjningsremmar ska vara monterade mellan
tvärrören när vagnen används i transport i bil
med barn i vagnen (31).
