Congratulationsonyourpurchaseofthisoutstandingproduct:IndustrialPoEAPRouter.ForM2M(Machine‐
to‐Machine)applications,AMITModbusCellularGatewayisabsolutelytherightchoice.
ForwirelessM2M(Machine‐to‐Machine)applications,AMITPoEAPRouterisabsolutelytherightchoice.With
built‐in802.11ac/ncompliantdualbandWiFimodules,youjustneedtofindoutanavailablewirelessnetwork
(orAccessPoint),andthePoEAPRoutercansimplyconnecttothewirelessnetworkandconnectyourfiled
devicestothelocalmanagementcenter.
ThisIWG874seriesproductisloadedwithluxuriantsecurityfeaturesincludingVPN,firewall,NAT,port
forwarding,DHCPserverandmanyotherpowerfulfeaturesforoutdoorIPsurveillanceapplications.The
redundancydesigninfallback24‐56VDCpowerterminal,anddualSIMcardsmakethedatatransmission,and
networkconnectionwithoutlost.

1.6.1MounttheUnit
TheIWP87Dseriesproductcanbemountedonawall,horizontalplane,orDINRailinacabinetwiththe
mountingaccessories(bracketsorDIN‐railkit).Themountingaccessoriesarenotscrewedontheproduct
whenoutoffactory.Pleasescrewthewall‐mountkitsorDIN‐railbracketontheproductfirst.
1.6.2ConnectingPower
TheIWP87Dseriesproductcanbepoweredbyconnectingoneortwopowersourcestotheterminalblock.It
supportsdual24to56VDCpowerinputs.Followingpictureindicatesthepowerterminalblockpin
assignments.Pleasecheckcarefullyandconnecttotherightpowerrequirementsandpolarity.
ForthedualpowersupplydesignonPWR1andPWR2,thepowersupplymodecanbeeitherprimary/backup
orconcurrentmodes.ItdependsonthevoltageforPWR1andPWR2.
IfthevoltagedifferencebetweenPWR1andPWR2isgreaterthan5.0volt(thisisthecaseforusingtwopower
supplyswiththedifferentexternalspec.,suchas48Vand24V),thepowercontrolcircuitworksinprimary/
backuppowermode.Theonewithhighervoltageistreatedtheprimarypower,andtheotheroneisregarded
asabackuppower.Normally,onlytheprimarypowersupplystherequiredpowertothegatewayand
connectedPoEdevices;thebackuppowersupplywillsupplythepowertothegatewayandconnectedPoE
devicesonlywhentheprimarypowerfails.
IfthevoltagedifferencebetweenPWR1andPWR2islessthan0.5volt(thisisthecaseforusingtwopower
supplywiththesameexternalspec.,suchas48V),thepowercontrolcircuitworksinconcurrentmode.Both
PWR1andPWR2supplyrequiredpowertothegatewayandconnectedPoEdevicessimutaneously.
Note:Theremaybeanambiguoussituationforthevoltagedifferenceislessthan5.0volt,butgreaterthan0.5
volt.Pleasebeassurethattheexternalpowersupplycansupplyenoughpowerthatthesystemrequired,or

externalpowersupplyunitforprovidingpowertothegateway.HereunderisanexamplefortheIndustrial
powersupplyinstallation.

Thepowersupplyunitpowerrequirementis100‐240VAC,50/60Hzwithpowerinputlines.AWG18power
cableisrecommended.

ThePowerSupplyunitmayconsistofonesetortwosetsofDCpoweroutputcontacts.

Afterthat,pulgintheterminalblocktothesocketatthesideofthegateway.
Finally,connectthepowerplugofthepowersupplycabletoanoutlet,thenthepowersupplyunitswillturn
onandprovideDCpowertotheconnecteddevice.

transmissionspeedonthenetworkandconfigureitselfautomatically.ConnectoneEthernetcabletotheRJ45
port(LAN)ofthedeviceandpluganotherendoftheEthernetcableintoyourcomputer’snetworkport.Inthis
way,youcanusetheRJ45EthernetcabletoconnecttothehostPC’sEthernetportforconfiguringthedevice.
