IBR600 Installation Guide
The Cradlepoint IBR600 router will be delivered to site with SIM card installed and router pre-
configured. The router is administered through a cloud-based portal. The installing technician will not
need to make any configuration changes to the CP
1. Connect power supply to electrical outlet and plug connector into CP
2. Connect WiFi and modem antennas (finger tight only). The paddle-shaped antennas for the
cellular modem are marked 4G and go on the side of the Cradlepoint with the SIM card door.
The thinner WiFi antennas go on the side with the LAN ports
3. Connect the power supply to the IBR600 and switch the power on. Test internet connectivity by
connecting a laptop to the LAN port on the router. Use the port on the left, next to the Reset
button)
4. Mount the router on the wall behind the WRN monitor. Use the bracket included with the
router, and 2 spare screws from the sign installation hardware kits. If the bracket is not
available, use zip ties to mount on the WRN wall plate
5. If the location does not have a WRN monitor, or the Cradlepoint needs to be located elsewhere
for reasons such as poor cell reception in the waiting room, you must notify PatientPoint and
get approval
6. For a standard install, a small wired network will be created –a schematic of a typical network is
shown below. Note that not all installs will have all the devices shown in the schematic
a. The dashed line in the network room represents a future connection linking the office’s
network to the PPT network, at which time the Cradlepoint can be removed. This
connection will NOT be made when the CP is installed
b. Tech will need to make one or two short patch cables to connect the Cradlepoint in the
waiting room to the switch located there and the WRN cpu
7. For some installations, the Cradlepoint will also serve as a WiFi hotspot. There are 2 options -
(they can be turned on individually or simultaneously)
a. Free WiFi network for patients
i. SSID is PatientPoint Welcome
ii. No password required. User must accept Terms and Conditions to access the
internet
b. Hidden WiFi for PPT signs
i. The network ID is not broadcast
ii. The network SSID is patientpointwifi
iii. Security Mode is WPA2 Personal
iv. The network password is DxW!E5fA6U!&nc7K
8. For the PPT devices that use WiFi, configure each sign to connect to the hidden network (see
instructions at the end of this document)
9. Check that connectivity is maintained when all signs are located at their place of installation,
before mounting signs on the wall
10. Use a smart phone or other device to confirm that users can log on to the PatientPoint Welcome
WiFi network
