WARNING
1. 120 volts may cause serious injury from electrical

CAUTION
1. Do not set humidity hi her than recommended.
Condensation dama e may result.
2. Do not set humidity up to recommended levels if
there is condensation on the inside of windows of
any unheated livin space. Condensation dama e
may result.
3. Do not mount the Humidifier Control on the supply
plenum or duct. The unit cannot withstand supply
temperatures and will malfunction.
4. When installin the Humidifier Control on a
counterflow furnace, ensure the blower continues
to run after a heat call is satisfied to eliminate hi h
temperatures from dama in the Humidifier Control.
5. Do not mount the Humidifier Control downstream of
the bypass outlet. False humidity conditions will
cause the humidifier to operate incorrectly.
6. Avoid installin the Humidifier Control with the display
facin downward to prevent the Humidifier Control
from incorrectly measurin the relative humidity
(RH) in the duct.

r minding you to chang your wat r pan l. If your Control cam
with a humidifi r, th Control is pr -s t for th humidifi r. If th
installation sit has a 3-month or short r h ating s ason or v ry
hard wat r, you may want to adjust th s tting (s Figur B).

Installing th Humidifi r Control for
Manual Op ration
If it is not feasible to install the Outdoor
Temperature Sensor, the Humidifier Control can be
operated in Manual Mode.
1. Connect the Manual Mode Resistor Case wires
to the terminals labeled “ODT” on the Humidifier
Control.
2. Position the Manual Mode Resistor Case so that
the Resistor Case extends from the bottom ed e
of the base.
3. Apply the Manual Mode label to the cover,
ali nin the sticker and knob holes.

display backlights will flash, indicating that th Humidifi r
Control is still in th “T st/R s t” position.

installation.
• If conn ct d to a Mod l 400 S ri s humidifi r, mak sur
both floats in th bottom of th scal control ins rt ar in
th down position. If n c ssary, dump out wat r to low r
th floats.
• Ch ck voltag at th Humidifi r Control “R” and “C”
t rminals. Voltag should b 22 VAC minimum to 30 VAC
maximum.
• Ch ck th Mod l 50 Curr nt S nsing R lay (if us d) for th
corr ct installation (s Mod l 50 instructions).
• Ch ck Blow r Activation R lay Mod l 4851 (if us d) for
corr ct installation (s Mod l 4851 instructions).
• Mak sur that th saddl valv is op n.
• In “T st/R s t mod , th humidifi r will op rat for
1 minut only. DO NOT LEAVE THE HUMIDIFIER CONTROL
IN “TEST/RESET” MODE AS THE HUMIDIFIER WILL NOT
OPERATE.

mod l and wat r conditions (s Figur B). DO NOT LEAVE
THE HUMIDIFIER CONTROL IN “TEST/RESET” MODE AS THE
HUMIDIFIER WILL NOT OPERATE.

th Humidifi r Control knob s tting.
TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE
• In th “T st/R s t” mod , v rify that th humidifi r turns
off aft r 1 minut .
• Ch ck th Outdoor T mp ratur S nsor r sistanc and
location, as instruct d on th pr vious pag .
• Rotat th Humidifi r Control knob count rclockwis to th
“Off” position, and obs rv wh th r th humidifi r turns
off. If th humidifi r still op rat s in th “Off” position,
