INSTALLATION: ADA GUIDELINES
ADA REQUIREMENTS:
The RANGER-AT LIFT is designed and manufactured to be 100% ADA comp iant. But for the
insta ed ift to be 100% comp iant the insta ation must meet the requirement for CLEAR DECK
SPACE as shown in the diagram to the eft. To be comp iant, insta the ift at 37cm minimum
from the poo edge, and make sure the deck has the required CLEAR DECK SPACE as shown.
The setback distance can be as much as 48cm, and wi sti be ADA comp iant.
NOTE: ADA requires a deck slope of no greater than 1:48 as shown.
NOTE: The ADA requires the seat to go at least 46cm into the water. To make sure the lift has
enough clearance the lift should be installed at a location with 1 7-122cm of depth (deck to pool
floor).
NOTE: Anchor setbacks are based on straight pool/spa walls. Curved pool/spa walls will effect
the anchor setback. Contact Aqua Creek for assistance.

ANCHOR INSTALLATION: CORE-DRILL RETRO-FIT
NOTE: FOR DECKS 6” [15.2cm] THICK, 25 PSI STRENGTH MINIMUM

*Aqua Creek recommends either Hilti™ Brand HIT RE-500-S or Simpson™ brand SET-XP or
equivalent
1) Locate the anchor p ate, four (4) anchor inserts with nuts and mounting hardware. (See
picture above).
2) Using the arger ho es in the anchor p ate as a temp ate, mark the four ho e ocations with
a marking pen on the poo deck. Verify that the CENTER LINE of the front anchors are
no more than 48cm from the poo s edge. See FIGURE 1, page 4.
3) Using the core dri and the 1-1/2” core dri bit, dri out the four ho e ocations marked
on the poo deck to a depth of about 11.5cm.
a. NOTE: You can use black electrical tape on the end of the drill bit as a visual
marker to indicate the proper depth that you need to drill to.
b. NOTE: epending on your local grounding requirements, you
may need to drill one hole larger than the others so that you can
ground at least one of the anchor inserts. In some cases saw
cutting a portion of the deck out completely might be required.
In this case, follow the “Saw Cutting Retro-Fit Instructions”.
4) Remove the core from the ho es using a hammer and chise . The
ho es shou d be comp ete y dry and c ear of any debris before
insta ing the anchors into them.
5) Remove the nuts from the threaded anchor inserts and the b ack
protective cover from the end of the anchor insert exposing the
interna threads that wi accept the mounting hardware.
6) Using the sma er ho es in the anchor p ate, thread the mounting
hardware through the anchor p ate ho es and into the ends of the
four anchor inserts so that the tops of the inserts are f ush with
the BOTTOM of the p ate (see diagram on eft).
IMPORTANT: Use the enc osed packet of anti-seize on the
threads of the hardware to prevent the hardware from seizing in
the anchor inserts.
a. NOTE: It is recommended that you apply tape to the bottom of
the anchor plate around the holes so that when and if the two
part epoxy oozes out of the holes that it does not secure the
anchor plate to the pool deck.

7) A ow for a way to bond at east one of the anchor inserts according to your oca code
requirements. This is typica y accomp ished with 8-AWG so id-copper wire attached to
the poo ’s bonding grid. For more information see NEC Artic e 680.26.
8) Before putting epoxy into the ho es and setting the anchor inserts, you wi want to test fit
the anchor inserts in the pre-dri ed ho es first to make sure they ine up proper y. You
can do this by picking up the anchor p ate with the four (4) anchor inserts attached to the
underside and carefu y p ace them into the four ho es dri ed in the deck. Using a
torpedo eve on the p ate, verify that you can eve up the anchor system. If they do not
ine up you may have to en arge your ho es.
9) After verifying that the anchor inserts ine up with the ho es proper y and you can eve
the anchor assemb y, remove the anchor assemb y and fi each ho e in the poo deck at
east ha f fu of two part construction epoxy (not inc uded). Aqua Creek recommends
either Hilti™ Brand HIT RE-500-S or Simpson™ brand SET-XP or equivalent.
10) Pick up the anchor assemb y with the four (4) anchor inserts attached to the underside
and carefu y p ace them into the four ho es dri ed in the deck. As you p ace the anchor
inserts that are attached to the anchor p ate, wigg e the anchor system a itt e to make sure
the epoxy gets on a sides of the anchor inserts.
11) Once the anchor inserts are p aced into the ho es, use a sma torpedo eve on the anchor
p ate to make sure you are eve and p umb.
12) A ow the epoxy to set up according to the manufacturers recommendations and remove
the hardware and the anchor p ate. You can now safe y mount the ift to the anchor
system using the same hardware you used to mount the anchor inserts to the underside of
the anchor p ate. The anchor p ate can be recyc ed or used for insta ing a second set of
anchors in another ocation.

ANCHOR INSTALLATION: SAW-CUT RETRO-FIT

1) Locate the anchor p ate, four (4) anchor inserts with
nuts and mounting hardware). (See picture above).
2) Mark out a section of the poo deck that you are
removing using a cha k ine or straight edge and a
marker. You shou d p an on removing at east a Three
foot by three foot section.
3) Using the saw with the diamond b ade, make your cuts
a ong the ines that you marked.
4) Using the s edge hammer, break up the concrete within
the area that you cut and remove the pieces.
5) After you have removed the portion of the deck, verify
that your new deck wi be ab e to be at east 15.2cm
deep.
6) Remove ONE of the nuts from each of the anchor
inserts and p ace the anchor inserts through the arger
ho es in the anchor p ate. Thread the nut back on the
other side of the anchor insert so that the anchor p ate
is sandwiched between the nuts. (See diagram on eft).
7) Insta rebar in the open area of the deck. Tie the rebar
into the existing deck if possib e.
8) Set the anchor system in p ace making sure that the
center ine of the front anchor inserts are no more than
48cm away from the poo s edge.
9) Using the string ine or a straight edge, make sure the
top of each anchor body is eve and f ush with the
FINISHED deck surface. Each anchor body can be
adjusted individua y by turning the nuts with a arge
wrench.
10) Bond the anchor system using the bonding ug on the
anchor p ate. The anchor shou d be bonded to the
poo ’s bonding-grid according to your oca code
requirements. (See NEC Artic e 680.26).
11) Pour your concrete and finish the poo deck surface.
12) Once the concrete has cured, insta the ift by a igning
the ho es in the ifts base with the anchors insta ed in
the deck. Secure the ift to the deck using the stain ess
stee hardware that comes with it. (See drawing
be ow)
a. NOTE: Use Anti Seize on the hardware to prevent the
hardware from seizing in the anchor inserts.

ANCHOR INSTALLATION: NEW CONSTRUCTION
For insta ations where a new deck is being poured, or where a dedicated pad is being poured just
for the poo ift, the concrete must satisfy the requirements out ined on page 4. For convenience
here are the requirements again;
YOUR POOL DECK MUST BE AT LEAST 122cm LONG BY 122cm WIDE BY 15.2cm
THICK. IT MUST BE REINFORCED WITH #5 REBAR (5 sticks) 2” CLEAR (MIN)
FROM THE TOP AND BOTTOM OF THE FOOTING.
Obvious y you may make the deck arger than this – which is a most a ways the case when
putting in a deck that surrounds the poo . Note that the entire deck does not need to be 15.2cm
thick, but that the area around the insta ed ift, 122cm by 122cm, shou d be 15.2cm thick at a
minimum. The rest of the deck may be thinner – 10cm is typica – as ong as it is 15.2cm thick
around the ift.
The new deck shou d be reinforced with five (5) sticks of #5 rebar with a minimum of 2”
c earance top or bottom. Our minimum requirement is that the 122cm by 122cm section be
reinforced according y, but it is good practice to extend the rebar grid over the entire deck.
Common y, the rebar grid is used for grounding/bonding a so. Bonding of the ift can usua y be
accomp ished with a ength of bare, 8 AWG so id, copper wire, connected to a piece of the rebar
with an approved fitting and then connected to the grounding ug on the anchor p ate. Note; this is
on y effective when the rebar grid itse f has been bonded (attached to the poo ’s equipotentia
bonding grid with 8-AWG so id-copper wire). See NEC Artic e 680.26.
CHECK YOUR LOCAL ELECTRICAL CODE: BONDING REQUIREMENTS FOR POOL
EQUIPMENT. ALWAYS BOND THE UNIT PER LOCAL ELECTRICAL CODES.

RANGER-AT LIFT - ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Attach Seat be t to the
seat as shown.
2. Insta the RANGER-AT LIFT onto the four
(4) anchors using the supp ied 1/2 x 1-1/2”
stain ess stee hex-head bo ts and 1/2"
stain ess stee f at washers. Make sure a
bo ts are tight before using the ift.
3. P ug the handset cab e into the arge handset
socket on the bottom of the contro box. Be
sure you press the cord end firm y into the
socket unti you are sure it is a of the way
into the socket. Fai ure to fu y push the
remote cord into the socket may resu t in
fau ty or interrupted operation.
4. Before insta ing the battery, p ace it on the charging unit and et it charge for 24
hours. Make sure the orange “charge” ight i uminates when the battery is being
charged.
5. Remove the fu y-charged battery from the charger and insta it on top of the Contro
Box. The battery wi ine up square with the contro box, and wi ‘c ick’ when it
ocks in p ace proper y. The ift wi on y operate when the battery is mounted
proper y.
WHEN NOT IN USE STORE THE BATTERY ON THE CHARGER. DO NOT
LEAVE THE BATTERY ON THE LIFT WHEN NOT IN USE!

24V BATTERY SYSTEM OPERATING AND
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The RANGER-AT Lift Battery system comes with a 24v sea ed rechargeab e battery,
wa mount charging unit (with mounting bracket), contro box, and a waterproof
handhe d contro er. The contro box is mounted to the RANGER-AT Lift and has a p ug-
in socket for both the actuator and the handhe d contro er. The battery mounts direct y
above the contro box with a quick-re ease c ip.
To operate the RANGER-AT Lift, p ug in the handhe d contro er to the contro box and
push the corresponding button to either ower or raise the unit. The ift shou d be ab e to
comp ete approximate y 10-20 fu cyc es before the ow battery indicator tone wi
sound. The ow battery tone indicates that there is approximate y 20% battery ife
remaining. At this point, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPERATE THE LIFT, remove the
battery from the unit and recharge on the wa mounted charging unit.
To recharge the battery, simp y grip the top of the battery and depress the c ip on the back
of the battery. This wi unc ip the battery from the contro box bracket and the battery
can then be c ipped into the wa mount charger. When the charger is p ugged in the
green ON ight wi i uminate. When the battery is correct y mounted to the charger, the
orange CHARGE ight wi i uminate. When the battery is fu y charged, the
CHARGE ight wi GO OFF and the battery is ready for use.
WHEN THE BATTERY IS NOT BEING USED IT SHOULD BE STORED ON
THE CHARGER AND NEVER ON THE LIFT. DO NOT LEAVE THE BATTERY
ON THE LIFT WHEN THE LIFT IS NOT IN USE.

BATTERY MAINTENANCE
1. RECHARGE THE BATTERY AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE. The battery power unit is
a sea ed ead acid battery pack. Frequent recharges wi pro ong the battery ife and
maintain a high co d amperage capacity. THE BATTERY CAN BE STORED ON THE
CHARGER WHEN NOT IN USE.
2. Do NOT expose the battery to freezing temperatures.
3. Do NOT expose the battery to pro onged periods of extreme heat or severe co d
temperatures.
4. Do NOT expose the battery to ong periods of direct sun ight. Heat wi shorten your
battery ife. Optimum operating temperature is be ow 20 degrees Ce sius (68 degrees F.)
5. Never drop or bump the battery pack. This may resu t in oose or damaged interna
connections, and may bend the battery termina s.
6. Keep battery termina s c ean and free from dirt and corrosion to ensure good contact. The
termina s may be c eaned using Scotch Brite or any simi ar product. C ean off any
corrosion or disco oration on the very top surfaces of the battery contacts and then app y
die ectric grease (supp ied with ift) as shown in the figure be ow.
USING THE “EMERGENCY BUTTON” on the Ranger-AT Lift Contro Box
On the front side of the contro box is a sma recessed
button marked “emergency”. Take a pen or penci or other
pointed object and depress the “emergency” button. This
wi bypass the remote contro and send a signa direct y to
the actuator to raise the seat out of the poo and back to the
deck or up position.
NOTE: This function will only work if there is sufficient
power in the battery, the battery is properly attached to
the control box, and the control box must be operating
properly.

RANGER-AT LIFT OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
NOTE: CHECK ALL NUTS & BOLTS FOR TIGHTNESS AND FOR
WORN PARTS BEFORE EACH USE. NEVER OPERATE THE LIFT
WITH THE ARMRESTS FLIPPED UP.
The RANGER-AT Lift shou d a ways be in the fu up or deck position before a user
attempts to transfer into the chair. Before attempting to transfer into the chair, check to
make sure the ift is operating by making a short test run: move the chair at east part way
in and out of the poo .
As you are standing in front of the chair, facing the chair, the armrest on either side wi
f ip up to a ow for easier atera transfers. Transfer into the chair and then ower the f ip-
up armrest back into its norma position. Secure the adjustab e ap be t around the waist
so that the be t is snug, but not uncomfortab y tight.
You are now seated comfortab y in the RANGER-AT Lift, and ready to move into the
poo or spa. Before you begin the operating cyc e, take a visua check of the deck area
and poo area to make sure the operating path of the ift is c ear.
It is not necessary to ower the ift a the way to the bottom of the ift’s stroke. You may
stop the ift at any time in the downward cyc e once the chair is under water and it is
comfortab e for you to exit the chair into the water.
This is NOT true however, when returning to the deck during the up cyc e. The ift
shou d a ways be cyc ed comp ete y to the up or deck position before attempting to exit
the chair on the deck.
To ower the ift into the poo , simp y app y pressure on the down arrow button on the
remote contro handset and the chair wi start to move towards the poo . NOTE: for
safety reasons, it is necessary to maintain continuous pressure on the contro button. If
you take your finger off of the contro button the ift wi stop.
When you are sufficient y submerged into the water to a ow for an easy exit from the
chair, you may stop the ift cyc e by re easing pressure on the down arrow button on the
remote contro handset. Now re ease the ap be t by grasping the end of the be t that is
protruding above the ap be t and tugging gent y. You may now f ip up the footrest to
create more room in front of the chair for you to exit. Exit the chair by s iding straight
forward unti you are c ear of the seat and the footrest.
When you are ready to return to the ift seat and exit the poo or spa, make sure that the chair is owered
(submerged) sufficient y to a ow you to easi y s ide into the chair. You shou d not attempt to “ ift” or raise
yourse f into the chair. Once you are reseated into the chair, you may ower the footrest to it norma
operating position and p ace your feet on the footrest. Next, re-secure the adjustab e ap be t snug y around
your waist. To raise the chair out of the poo , simp y press on the up arrow button on the remote contro
handset and app y continuous pressure unti the ift chair comes to a rest on the deck in the fu up position.
You may now re ease the ap be t and exit the chair.

THE (OPTIONAL) HEADREST ASSEMBLY
The HEADREST ASSEMBLY attaches direct y to the chair assemb y, and is adjustab e
for optimum comfort. The components of the HEADREST ASSEMBLY are shown
be ow, a ong with the chair to show how it attaches. The wing-nuts a ow for quick
adjustment without having to remove the assemb y from the chair. The headrest pad is
a so removab e for c eaning. Look over the diagram be ow to fami iarize yourse f with
the components before insta ing and using the HEADREST ASSEMBLY.

INSTALLING THE HEADREST PAD
The ADJUST BRACKET must be removed from the assemb y to insta or remove the
HEADREST PAD. When insta ing the pad thread the bracket through the top oops first
and then press the f aps together (hooks & oops fastener) to comp ete the insta ation. To
remove the pad, reverse this procedure.

CARE OF YOUR LIFT
Routine c eaning is an abso ute necessity to ensure the integrity of the ift. Note that the
Aqua Creek Poo Lift shou d not be stored in a pump room or in a storage room where
poo chemica s are kept. Storing the ift near poo chemica s may cause rusting and other
damage to occur. Your Aqua Creek stain ess stee ift is powder coated to protect the
stain ess stee from rusting. Most rusting wi occur at we d points, crevices, under
gaskets, rivets or bo t heads.
The choice of a proper c eaning product is up to the consumer and there are many to
choose from. Depending on the type of c eaning and the degree of contamination
(rusting), some products are better than others. For routine c eaning the products most
recommended are gent e soaps or detergents or di ute mixtures of ammonia. For
stubborn spots and stains try using soft scrub with some brisk rubbing.
DO NOT USE POOL WATER TO CLEAN USE ONLY FRESH
WATER
If the ift is used DAILY make sure to wash the ift at the end of the day. Wash the ift
off using a mi d soap and a soft c oth. Make sure to pay specia attention to we d points
and crevices. Do not use a brist ed brush or stee woo to c ean the ift. Check that the
ift is working proper y and then p ace the battery on the charger. It is recommended that
the battery be charged after every day of use.
If the ift is used WEEKLY fo ow the same steps as above. A so be sure to check a of
the contact points (termina s) for damage or corrosion. If you notice corrosion gent y
c ean the termina s. To c ean corrosion from the termina s use a q-tip and some rubbing
a coho . If the corrosion is particu ar y stubborn try using a 3M scotch brite pad, but be
carefu not to damage the termina s. App y die ectric grease to the termina s after
c eaning them. This wi he p to prevent further corrosion. Do not eave the battery on the
ift. A ways store the battery on the charger whenever the ift is not being used.
SAFETY & MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Do not play on or around this lift
1. Check the RANGER-AT LIFT before each use to assure there are no worn parts
and that a hardware is proper y tightened. If there are any worn parts, rep ace
them BEFORE using the RANGER-AT Lift. You can ca our customer service
at 1-888-687-3552 to order any parts.
2. Aqua Creek Products, LLC ifts sha be grounded per oca codes.
3. At east ONCE A WEEK, the RANGER-AT Lift must be c eaned with fresh
water. Do not spray the RANGER-AT Lift 24v battery unit direct y with any
pressure. Wipe a surfaces c ean with a damp, non-abrasive c oth. When
c eaning the RANGER-AT Lift, use non-abrasive soap and water. Avoid harsh
chemica s and disinfectants.
4. A ways read the abe instructions on any c eaner carefu y before app ying it to a
surface.
5. The WARNING & INTENDED USE abe s on the RANGER-AT Lift need to be
maintained in readab e fashion. If they become unreadab e or faded, p ease
rep ace the abe immediate y. Rep acement abe s are avai ab e from AQUA
CREEK PRODUCTS LLC. 1-888-687-3552.

If the ift is used MONTHLY fo ow the same steps as above. A so check the nuts and
bo ts to make sure they are secure y fastened (this is a ways a good idea, no matter how
often or infrequent y the ift is used). A so make sure to store the battery on the charger
and not on the ift. Leaving the battery on the ift for extended periods wi significant y
shorten the battery’s ifespan.
If the ift is being STORED for an extended period of time fo ow a of the steps above.
Check for rusting at a crevice and we d points. If you notice rusting, app y some mi d
dish detergent to the affected area and take a 3M scotch brite pad and rub brisk y.
Afterwards, be sure to rinse the ift with c ean water NOT poo water. When storing the
ift make sure it is in a dry area and covered. DO NOT STORE in or around poo
chemica s.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Before troub eshooting make sure the battery is fu y charged.
If the lift doesn’t move when the handset button is pressed:
When you can’t get the ift to move check the fo owing things:
1. Make sure the battery is fu y charged:
A. Before charging the battery first make sure the green ight on the front
of the charger is i uminated (this means that the charger is on). Then
check to make sure the si ver contact points on the battery and charger
are not damaged or corroded, and that they are c ean. Then p ace the

B. When the battery is correct y insta ed on the charger or contro box

the unit. A so note that when the battery is proper y seated there
shou d not be any gaps between the battery and the contro
box/charger.

If the battery is fully charged and the lift is not moving then:
2. Check a cords:
A. Check that the cords are proper y p ugged in. Start by unp ugging the
remote and the actuator cord from the contro box. Once these cords
are removed check the ends for corrosion or damage. P ug the remote
cord back in by ining up the raised tab on the p ug to the grooved ine
on the contro box out et. Note that these cords require some force to
p ug them in fu y. You wi know they a correct y inserted when you
here a “popping sound”. The cords wi be recessed into the out et. If
they are f ush with the outside of the out et they are not p ugged in
fu y and the ift wi not function. Make sure you do this for both
cords.
If you have checked all the cords and the lift still doesn’t move:
3. Check the contact points:
A. After you have fu y charged the battery and checked the cords to
make sure they are proper y p ugged in, check to make sure the contact
points are not corroded or bent. If the contact points are corroded take
some rubbing a coho and a q-tip and c ean off the points. After
c eaning the contact points it is recommended to put some die ectric
grease on the contact points (termina s) to he p ensure good e ectrica
contact and prevent corrosion. Then reinsta the battery on top of the
contro box. Make sure you hear a “c ick”, which indicates that the
battery is correct y seated. The ift wi not work if the battery is not
seated correct y.

If the lift stops moving over the water and is stuck:
4. Then try pushing the emergency button:
A. If the ift gets stuck out over the water use a pen or penci tip and stick
it into the emergency button on the front of the contro box to retract the
ift. Note the ift wi not retract if the battery is not fu y charged or if the
contro box is not working. The emergency button on y overrides the
remote in case it has gone bad. If this does not retract the ift then chances
are the remote is fine and you either have a prob em with the battery, the
contro box, or the cords are damaged or not p ugged in proper y.
