Install mattress and pump

Place mattress on bed base,
tubeset and CPR at foot end.
Use the fastener straps to attach
the mattress to moving parts of
bed frame.
Zip the protective cover over the
mattress with the Arjo logo visible
and located at the foot end.
Make sure that all the Vent Valves
are closed

Attach the bed bracket to the
bed frame, or place the pump
underneath the bed.

Check that the transport control is
set to Normal and the CPR control
is closed and locked in position.

Connect the tubeset to the pump
and the mattress.

Run the mains power cable along
the side of the mattress securing
the ap round the cable using the
press studs.
WARNING
Mains power cable and
tubeset must be positioned
to avoid trip hazard, and
be clear of moving bed
mechanisms or other
entrapment areas.
Connect the mains power cable
to the pump and to mains power
outlet.

Inate mattress

Press the Run/Standby button.
Wait until the mattress is fully
inated.
Once the Wait and Low Pressure
indicators turn off, place the patient
on the mattress in supine (face up)
position.
The default setting is Dynamic
mode (alternating pressure).
• CPR control closed and locked
in position.
• Transport control set to Normal.
• All Vent Valves closed.
WARNING
CPR control must be visible
and accessible at all times.

Cleaning and disinfection
Clean and disinfect between patients and at regular
intervals while in use.
WARNING
Remove the electrical supply to the pump by
disconnecting the mains power cable from the
mains power supply before cleaning.
Protective clothing should always be worn when
carrying out decontamination.
Cleaning
1. Clean all exposed surfaces and remove any debris by
wiping with a cloth moistened with a neutral detergent
and water.
2. Dry thoroughly. Do not allow water or cleaning
solutions to collect on the surface of the pump.
Chemical disinfection
Use a chlorine releasing agent, such as sodium
hypochlorite, at a strength of 1000 ppm available chlorine
(from 250 ppm to 10 000 ppm depending on local policy
and contamination status).
Alcohol based disinfectants (strength 70%) may be used
as an alternative.
If an alternative disinfectant is selected, conrm suitability
for use with the chemical supplier prior to use.
1. Wipe all cleaned surfaces with the solution.
2. Wipe with a cloth moistened in water.
3. Dry thoroughly.
Thermal disinfection
For laundering of the mattress top cover, see label.

Fold the handle at to lock in
