Intended Use
Repositioning Sling / Disposable Repositioning Sling
are products intended for assisted lateral repositioning
and/or lateral transfer of patients/residents with limited
DELOLW\WRPRYH
7KHDisposable Repositioning Sling is intended to be
used for a limited period only, and, by nature of its
design, must be treated as a disposable and patient/
UHVLGHQWVSHFL¿FSURGXFW
7KHRepositioning Sling / Disposable Repositioning
Sling shall only be used by appropriately trained
caregivers with adequate knowledge of the care
environment, and in accordance with the instructions
outlined in the Instructions for Use (IFU)

are intended to be used in hospital environments, nursing

Patient/Resident Assessment
We recommend that facilities establish regular assessment
URXWLQHV&DUHJLYHUVVKRXOGDVVHVVHDFKSDWLHQWUHVLGHQW
according to the following criteria prior to use:

• Might be almost completely bed ridden,

• Physically demanding for caregiver,
• Stimulation and activation is not a primary goal
Safe Working Load (SWL) for:
• MAA6000: 272 kg (600lbs) (Repositioning Sling)
• AHD001: 272 kg (600lbs) (Disposable
Repositioning Sling)

Safety Instructions
WARNING
To avoid injury, make sure that the patient is
not left unattended at any time.
WARNING
To avoid falling, make sure that the user
weight is lower than the safe working load
for all products or accessories being used.
WARNING
To avoid injury, never let the patient smoke
when using the sling. The sling can catch

a short period of time. If stored longer than
stated in the IFU, it can cause weakness
and breakage in the material.

To avoid injury, keep the equipment away
from sun/UV-light. Exposure to sun/UV-light

prior to use.

Applying the Sling
Follow these 11 steps

Loop Attachment & Detachment
Attach the Loops (5 Steps)
Place the loop over the spring loaded latch (A
(See Fig. 1)

Detach the Loops (2 steps)
Make sure that the weight of the patient is taken up by

Position the spreader bar in line with the patient’s

attention when lowering or adjusting the
spreader bar.

spreader bar.

the legs,
• attach the loops on the right side of the patient
to the right spreader bar hook and the loops to
the left on the left hook,
• divide all the loops equally on the hooks and if
all won’t reach, leave the loops at leg section
unattached and
• attach each loop at the same loop length as the
ORRSDFURVV

Position the patient’s arms on top of the patient’s

To avoid skin friction, use an Arjo Sliding sheet/
tube and place it under the patien’s legs and
feet. (See Fig. 8)

Positioning the:
• 4-point spreader bar across the patient, with

• 2-point spreader bar across the patient, with

Lower the spreader bar to enable the straps to

• the side rail furthest away on the receiving

Slightly lift the patient to create tension in the
straps and:

comfortably in the Repositioning Sling
• make sure the Repositioning Sling is not
attached to any other object than the spreader
