Step 1: Installation.
zThe figure below is a typical IPS-3101h Interconnection topology.
zThe following photo illustrates the appearance of an IPS-3101h.

1-1 Connect your telephone to
the telephone port of the
IPS-3101h with a telephone
cable.
Connect your PSTN line to
the Line port of the
IPS-3101h with a cable from
telecom company.
1-2 Connect the one end of the
Ethernet cable to the
Ethernet port (WAN) of the
IPS-3101h, then, connect
the other end to the
Ethernet port of your
Broadband access device.
1-3 Connect the power adapter
to the Power port of the
IPS-3101h. Then connect
the other end to an
electrical outlet.

Step 2: Network Configurations.
IPS-3101h has stored a voice prompt menu for quick browsing and simple configuration.
To enter this voice prompt menu, please press the button on the front panel or press “* *
*” using the analog phone connected to the gateway.

address.
Enter the new IP address when configuring
in Static IP mode.
03 “Subnet “ + IP address Enter the new subnet mask IP address
when configuring in Static IP mode.
04 “Gateway “ + IP address Enter the new default gateway IP address
when configuring in Static IP mode.
05 “DNS Server “ + IP
address Enter the new DNS Server IP address when configuring in the Static IP mode
99 “RESET” Enter “9” to confirm the RESET
Below is a simple illustration for Static IP configuration.
1.) Unhook the telephone handset & press “* * *” to enter the voice prompt menu.
Press “01” to select an IP mode(Dynamic or Static),then Enter “9” for “Static IP”
then hang-up.
2.) Unhook the telephone handset & press “* * *” to enter the voice prompt menu.
Press “02” to enter the WAN IP address. Enter the new IP address then hang up.
Note: Please be sure to enter any IP address in a 12-digit sequence without the
dots (“.”). Follow the same rule when entering an IP address for Subnet Mask,
Default Gateway and DNS Server.
For example: “12.11.1.125” shall be entered as “012011001125”.
3.) Unhook the telephone handset & press “* * *” to enter the voice prompt menu.
Press “03” to enter the new Subnet Mask IP address. Enter the new Subnet
Mask IP address then hang-up.

4.) Unhook the telephone handset & press “* * *” to enter the voice prompt menu.
Press “04” to enter the new Default Gateway IP address. Enter the new default
gateway IP address then hang up.
5.) Unhook the telephone handset & press “* * *” to enter the voice prompt menu.
Press “05” to enter the new DNS Server IP address. Enter the new DNS Server IP
address then hang up.
6.) Unhook the telephone handset & press “* * *” to enter the voice prompt menu.
Press “99” to reset the gateway. Press “9” to confirm the reset of the gateway
then hang up.
Step 3: Making VoIP Calls.
There are currently two methods to make a VoIP call:
a) Dial the number directly and wait for 4 (default) seconds.
b) Dial the number directly, and press # (assuming that “use #” as dial key is
selected in web configuration).
Functions such as call waiting/flash, call-transfer, and call forwarding are all available
during the call.
Step 4: Making and Receiving Calls through the PSTN (Public
Switch Telephone Network) phone line.
The user will be able to make and receive calls from the PSTN phone line using the
IPS-3101h gateway. To receive calls, simply unhook the handset when the phone rings.
To make a PSTN call, simply press “*00” to get the PSTN dial tone and dial the phone
number.
