Please review the following information before using your Ascent XDTM12 USB Solar Charger.

The Ascent XD12 is designed for outside use to charge smartphones, tablets, and other 5V
USB-enabled devices.
Ensure that the panel is angled towards the sun to receive the most direct sunlight.
The solar charger does not store power; it uses the power of the sun to then directly charge the connected device.
If you would like to store power for when the sun is not available, we recommend connecting the solar charger into
a portable battery.

1. Unfold: Completely unfold the Ascent XD12 USB Solar Charger to ensure all four panels are
solar-side up and exposed to the sun.
2. Connect to Panel: Locate the USB output connection end of your charging cable. Plug the USB
connection end into the solar output port on the solar charger. (Note: Charging cable not included.
For best results, use the original cable that came with your device or a certied third-party cable.)
3. Connect to Device: Locate the opposite end on the charging cable and plug into the input port on
your device.
* For optimal charging performance with Apple devices, we recommend users disconnect and reconnect their
electronics every hour when dealing with cloudy or overcast conditions.

• Avoid immersion in water. If unit is immersed, dry immediately with dry cloth or towel and
blow out the USB port. Hang in a shady area for 2 hours with USB port facing down.
• Do not bend or crease the modules except where provided for by the hinges.
• Avoid partially shading modules under load to prevent reduction in power.
• Articially concentrated sunlight (i.e. with a magnifying glass or by other means) should not
be directed onto the modules.
• Do not cut, scratch, or puncture the modules, hinges, or terminal connection box.
• Do not stand on or walk on the modules, hinges, or terminal connection box.
• Do not drop or allow objects to fall onto the modules, hinges, or terminal connection box.
• Do not attempt to open, or otherwise dismantle the terminal connection box.
• Do not leave your personal electronic devices out in direct sunlight for extended periods of
time.
• Do not fold the panel incorrectly. Follow the folding instructions to prevent long term
damage to the panel.
• Included carabiners are not t for weight-bearing activities, such as rock climbing.
Carabiners are intended solely for solar hanging use.
• Solar panel not designed for permanent outdoor installation.
