RBU installation guide
General
The RBU, Rapid Backup Unit, is a software key and data storage for the Power Focus Compact
and Graph models. The RBU unlocks a specified amount of the software/functions installed in
the Power Focus. It also stores a back-up copy of the Power Focus configuration, which makes
it possible to move functionality and configurations between different Power Focus units.
There are three different RBU-versions, Bronze, Silver and Gold, where the Gold version un-
locks the full capacity of the Power Focus 4000.
Connecting the RBU
Connect (if not already connected) the RBU to the 15-pin connector on the back panel of the
Power Focus (see figure below). Make sure that the power is switched off when connecting and
disconnecting the RBU. After switching off the power, wait a couple of seconds until the back
lighted TENSOR sign in the centre of the Power Focus front panel is shut off.
Start-up Operating Instructions
At start-up Power Focus behaves differently according to the status of the power Focus and the
RBU memories. For example if the Power Focus and RBU memories do not match, you have to
choose if you want to use the configuration stored in the Power Focus or the RBU. If the power
Focus and the RBU are incompatible for other reasons than configuration mismatch, either the
Power Focus or RBU is referred to (in the table below) as NOK.
On the Compact, press the plus (+) or minus (-) button to toggle between the selections. On the
Graph, press the corresponding soft button to make a selection. Confirm selections with the En-
ter button. The table below describes the different states:

Moduł RBU (Rapid Backup Unit) jest kluczem programowym i pamięcią danych dla modeli
Compact i Graph sterownika Power Focus. Moduł RBU odblokowuje określony zakres opro-
gramowania/funkcji zainstalowanych w sterowniku Power Focus. Przechowuje on ponadto za-
pasową kopię konfiguracji sterownika Power Focus, co umożliwia przenoszenie odpowiednich
funkcjonalności i konfiguracji pomiędzy różnymi sterownikami Power Focus.
Dostępne są trzy różne wersje modułów RBU: brązowa, srebrna i złota. Wersja złota odbloko-
wuje wszystkie funkcje sterownika Power Focus 4000.
Podłączanie modułu RBU
Podłączyć moduł RBU (jeśli nie został już podłączony) do 15-pinowego złącza na tylnym pane-
lu sterownika Power Focus (patrz ilustracja poniżej). Przed podłączeniem i odłączeniem modu-
łu RBU należy pamiętać o wyłączeniu zasilania. Po wyłączeniu zasilania należy poczekać kilka
sekund, aż zgaśnie podświetlony znak TENSOR znajdujący się pośrodku przedniego panelu
sterownika Power Focus.
Postępowanie przy uruchamianiu
W chwili uruchomienia sterownik Power Focus może zachowywać się różnie w zależności od
stanu pamięci sterownika Power Focus i modułu RBU. Jeśli na przykład pamięci sterownika
Power Focus i modułu RBU nie są do siebie dopasowane, użytkownik musi wybrać, czy chce
zastosować konfigurację zapisaną w pamięci sterownika Power Focus, czy w pamięci modułu
RBU. Jeśli sterownik Power Focus i moduł RBU są niekompatybilne z przyczyn innych niż nie-
dopasowanie konfiguracji, sterownik Power Focus lub moduł RBU jest określany (w tabeli po-
niżej) jako NOK.
W modelu Compact należy nacisnąć przycisk plusa (+) lub przycisk minusa (-), aby dokonać
wyboru odpowiedniej opcji. W modelu Graph należy nacisnąć odpowiedni przycisk programo-
wy, aby dokonać wyboru odpowiedniej opcji. W celu potwierdzenia dokonanego wyboru nale-
ży nacisnąć przycisk Enter. W tabeli poniżej opisano różne stany:
