Important Notice

with a television viewer or screen that is located in the motor vehicle at any point forward of
thebackofthedriver’sseat,orthatisvisible,directlyorindirectly,tothedriverwhileoperating

WARNINGS
!Do not use any solvents or cleaning materials when cleaning the video system.
!Do not use any abrasive cleaners, they may scratch the screen. Use only a lightly
dampened lint free cloth to wipe the screen if it is dirty.
!Lock the LCD screen in the fully closed position when not in use.
!Before putting on headphones always adjust the volume setting to the lowest position.
!Remember to leave the dome light switch in the off or auto positions when the vehicle
is unattended, as the dome lights, if left on, can drain the vehicle’s battery.
!Do not put pressure on the screen.
!Donot allow children totouch or scratch thescreen, as it maybecome dirty or damaged.
Safety Precaution
For safety reasons, when changing video tapes it is recommended that the vehicle is not in
motion and that you do not allow children to unfasten seatbelts to change tapes or make any
adjustments to the system. System adjustments can be accomplished using the remote
controlunit, while seatbelts remainfastened. Enjoy your Audiovoxentertainmentsystem but
remember-safety of all passengers remains the number one priority.

Front Panel
1. Infrared Transmitter – Used to transmit audio to
wireless headphones.
2. Volume Up/Down – Controls volume to
headphone jacks
3. Picture Mode - Each time this button is pressed,
the on screen picture adjustment display the
“adjustmentbar” for BRIGHTNESS, CONTRAST,
COLOR OR TINT. Once the desired adjustment
barisdisplayed,usetheVolumeUp/Downbuttons
toadjustthe setting. The display willautomatically
turn off if no adjustments are made with 6
seconds, or if any other button is pressed.
4. SourceSelect – Used to selectA/Vsources(AV1,
AV2,AUX).
5. Three position Dome Light Switch
• Auto – Automatically switches on the dome
lights in conjunction with the vehicle’s interior
illumination.
• Off – Turns off dome lights and prevents them
from lighting when the switch is in the off
position.
• On – Turns on the dome lights.
6. Screen Release – Slides in the direction of the
arrow to release the drop down screen.
7. Headphone Jacks – Allows plug-in of wired
headphones with 1/8” stereo plug for monitoring
the video program audio.
8. AuxillaryA/Vinput-ForaudioLeft, Right and video
input.
9. Side Remote Sensor Eye – Allows the remote
controltooperatethe VOH701’s OSD (On Screen
Display),controlvolumetowiredheadphonejacks
andtocontroltheVideoCassettePlayerandother
accessories.
10. Dome lights – provide additional interior vehicle
illumination.
11. Forward Sensor Eye –Allows the remote control
to operate the VOH701’s OSD (On Screen
Display), control volume to wired headphone
jacks,and to control the Video Cassette Player
and other accessories.
12. Screen Mode – Used to select between 4:3 or
16:9 screen viewing aspect ratio.
13. Power Button – Bright red when system is On,
dim when Off.
NOTE: Audiovox recommends the use of the
AudiovoxHP275 Headphones.

Operation
Overhead Dome Lights
The lights integrated into the VOH701 are controlled
by a three position slide switch. Sliding the switch to
the on position will turn the lights on. The off position
willprevent the lights from turningon at alltimes, and
theauto positionwill allow the lights toturn onand off
with the vehicle’s interior lighting. Do not leave the
vehicle unattended with the dome light switch in the
onposition,asthiscouldresultinadischargedbattery.
Remote Sensors
TheVOH701incorporatestwo infrared sensors which
relaysignalsfrom any infraredremotecontrol to allow
a remote mounted device to be controlled simply by
pointing its remote control at the remote sensor eye
mountedonthepod. Thisprovides control of auxiliary
equipmentsuch as Video Cassetteand DVD players.
The infrared sensors can relay signals from any
manufacturer’s remote control to its respective
component connected to theAV1, AV2 inputs.

ExternalA/V inputs (AUX)
Using the Supplied adapter (P/N 112B3227) the
VOH701 will accept an audio/video input through the
1/8” jack located on the side of the unit. The audio/
video device could be a video game system, video
camera, or other input device.
Optional Accessories
Wired Headphones
There are two 1/8” headphone jacks on the VOH701
thatcanbeusedwithanystandardstereoheadphone.
These jack is controlled by the volume up / down
buttons on the VOH701 or the remote control.
Wireless Headphones
The VOH701 includes a built in infrared transmitter
for use with Audiovox wireless headphones (PN
MVIRHS). Turning the headphone switch on will
activate the internal IR receiver and the volume can
thenbe adjusted separately withthe controls oneach
headset. Any number of wireless headphones can
be used, but all must be within a line of sight from the
transmitter, as infrared transmissions, like visiblelight
travel only in a straight line. See the documentation
accompanying yourAudiovox wireless headphones.

Wired FM Modulator (optional)
Your video system may be equipped with an RF
modulator, that allows you to listen to the VOH701’s
audio signal by tuning your vehicle’s radio to the
selected frequency, (88.7 or 89.1 - Check with your
installer) and turning on the remote mounted RF
modulator switch. (In most cases this toggle switch
will be located underneath the driver’s side of the
dash, check with your installer for the exact location.)
Whenever the RF modulator is on, broadcast radio
reception will be poor. Turning the remote mounted
toggle switch off will allow normal radio reception.
NOTE: Audiovox recommends the use of the
AudiovoxFMM100AFMModulator.
Audiovox Video Cassette Player (AV1)
In most installations a VCP will be connected to the
“AV1” input. To view a video cassette, turn the
VOH701Onandpressthesourcebutton on its control
pad until the “AV1” is displayed on the screen. The
VCP may also be operated with a remote or the
buttonson its face. The VOH701isnow ready toplay
the audio and video signals from the VCP if it is
connected to the “AV1” input. Press play on the VCP
or on the remote control to view the tape. For more
informationseethe operator’smanual accompanying
your VCP.
AV2 /AUX
The second video input may be connected to a DVD
player,videogamesystem,orotheraudio/ video input.
To play theAV2 orAUX source, turn the VOH701 on
andpressthe source button onthepod until the “AV2”
or “AUX” is displayed on the screen. Turn the source
componentonwith its power button orremotecontrol.
The VOH701isnowreadytoplaytheaudioandvideo
signals from the source connected to AV2 or AUX
inputs.
