Tocreateavirtualfenceyoucanplacemultipleradarssidebyside.Werecommendplacingthemwith100m(330ft)spacing.
Coveraeldaroundabuilding
Tocovertheareaaroundabuilding,placetheradarsonthewallsofthebuilding.Theradarscanbeclosetoeachotherwithout
interferingsincetheyareaimedawayfromeachother.
Ifyouplacetheradarsaimedtowardsthebuilding,theradarswilltransmitradiowavesintoeachother,whichdecreasesperformance.
Coveranarea
Tocoveralargeopenarea,usetwopolemountstoplacetworadarsbacktoback.
Note
Whentworadarsaremountedthisclosetogether,theyareinthesamecoexistencezone.
YoucanusethePoEoutputfromoneradartopowerthesecondradar,butitisnotpossibletoconnectathirdradarthisway.

1.Toavoidinterferencewhenmorethantworadarsaremountedinthesamecoexistencezone,gotoSettings>Radar>
GeneralandsetNumberofneighboringradarsunderCoeistenceto2.
Iftheradarhasmorethantwoneighboringradarswithinitscoexistenceareatheperformancedecreases.Thedetectionrange
becomesshorter,theradardoesn’tclassifyobjectscorrectly,andfalsealarmsoccurduetointerferencebetweentheradars.
Theprobabilityandseverityoftheseissuesincreaseswiththenumberofradarswithinthesamecoexistencearea.Italsodependson
theenvironmentandtheradar’sdirectiontowardsfences,buildings,orneighboringradars.

Thedevicepasswordistheprimaryprotectionforyourdataandservices.Axisdevicesdonotimposeapasswordpolicyasthey
maybeusedinvarioustypesofinstallations.

Calibratetheradar
Theradarisreadytouseassoonasitisinstalled.Thedefaultliveviewwillshowtheradarcoverageandanydetectedmovement,and
youcanadddetectionzonesandrulesrightaway.
Iftheradarismounted3.5m(11ft)aboveground,thereisnoneedtodoanythingelse.Iftheradarismountedonadifferentheight
youneedtocalibratetheradartocompensateforthemountingheight.
Tomakeiteasiertoseewhereobjectsaremoving,youcanuploadareferencemap,forexampleagroundplanoranaerialphoto,
thatshowstheareacoveredbytheradar.
Imagerequirements:
•Supportedleformatsarejpegandpng.
•Theimagecanbecroppedintheradar.
•Theimagecanberotated±35°intheradar.
•Theorientationisnotimportant,sincetheradarcoverageshapewillmovetoadapttotheimageduringcalibration.
Afteruploadingthereferencemapyouneedtocalibratethereferencemapsothattheactualradarcoveragetstheposition,
directionandscaleofthereferencemap.
Therearetwomethodsforcalibratingthereferencemap:
•Pins(easy):Thiscalibrationisperformedinthewebinterfacebyclickinginthereferencemap.Thisistheeasiestwayto
calibratethereferencemap,andyoucanuseitifyoudonothavephysicalaccesstothesite.
•Tracks(accurate):Thiscalibrationmethodrequiresapersontomoveinfrontoftheradar.Thisisthemostaccuratewayto
calibratethereferencemap,butyoucan’tuseitifthereisalotofothermovementinthescene.
Youcandothisyourselfwhileaccessingthewebinterfacefromamobiledevice,orhavesomeoneelsemoveand
followyourinstructions.
Whenmovingaroundinthedifferentsteps,movetoplacesthatareeasytondinthereferencemap.
Howtocalibratetheradar
1.Toconguretheradar,gotoSettings>Radar>Calibration,clickStartandfollowtheinstructions.

Aboutdetectionzones
Todeterminewheretodetectmotion,youcanaddmultiplezones.Differentzonescanbeusedtotriggerdifferentactions.
Therearetwotypesofzones:
•Anincludezoneisanareainwhichmovingobjectswilltriggerrules.Thedefaultincludezonematchestheentire
areacoveredbytheradar.
•Anecludezoneisanareainwhichmovingobjectswillbeignored.Useexcludezonesifthereareareasinsideaninclude
zonethattriggeralotofunwantedalarms.
Removeunwantedreections
Objectsofradar-reectivematerials,suchasmetalroofs,fences,vehicles,andevenbrickwallsmaydisturbtheradar’sperformance.
Theymaycreatereectionswhichcauseapparentdetectionsthatcanbedifculttoseparatefromrealdetections.
