objectishuman,vehicle,orunknown.Arulecanbesettotriggeraneventwhenanyoftheseobjectsisdetected.Ifyouwanttotrack

Installmultipleradars
Youcaninstallmultipleradarstocoverareassuchasthesurroundingsofabuildingorthebufferzoneoutsideafence.
Coeistence
Whenyouplacemorethantworadarswithinthesamecoexistencezone,theradiowavesfromtheradarswithinthezonecancause
interferenceandaffecttheperformance.Thecoexistencezoneradiusis350m(380yd).

Whenyouplacetwoorthreeradarsinthesamecoexistencezone,youneedtodenethenumberofneighboringradarsinthedevice
interface.Thishelpstoimprovetheperformanceoftheradarsandtoavoidinterference.

Whenyoumountfourtosixradarsinthesamecoexistencezone,rstsetthenumberofneighboringradars,thenaddeachradarinto
agroup.Startwiththeradarthatisinstalledfarthestaway,forexampletheonefarthesttoyourleft.Addtheradarsingroupsof
threeandaddtheradarsthatareclosesttoeachotherinthesamegroup.
Theradarswithinthegroupwillsyncwitheachothertooptimizetheperformanceandavoidinterferencebetweeneachother.

thedeviceinterface.Additionally,whenyoumountmorethanthreeradars,addeachradarintoagroup.

Installmultipleradarsfacingeachother
Ingeneral,itisnotrecommendedtoinstallmorethanthreeradarsfacingeachothersincethisincreasestheriskofinterference
betweentheradars.However,insomespecicareasitcanbenecessary.Ifyouwanttocoverafootballeldforexample,youcan’t
placeradarsinthemiddleoftheeld.
Ifyouinstallmorethanthreeradarsfacingeachother,theminimumdistancefromoneradartoanotherneedstobe40meters
(130ft).Itisalsoespeciallyimportanttosetthenumberofneighboringradarsinthedeviceinterfaceandaddeachradarintoa
group.Thiswillhelptoimprovetheperformanceoftheradars.

Areadetectionrange
Detectionrangeisthedistancewithinwhichanobjectcanbetrackedandcantriggeranalarm.Itismeasuredfromneardetection
limit(howclosetothedeviceadetectioncanbemade)toafardetectionlimit(howfarfromthedeviceadetectioncanbemade).
TheAreamonitoringproleisoptimizedforhumandetection,however,itwillalsoallowyoutotrackvehiclesandotherobjects
movingatupto55km/h(34mph)withavelocityaccuracyof+/-km/h(1.4mph).
Whenmountedattheoptimalinstallationheight,thedetectionrangesare:
•3–60m(10–200ft)whendetectingahuman
•3–85m(10–280ft)whendetectingavehicle

Achemicalfactoryaddsanotherlayerofsecuritytotheirsystembyusingradarstocovertheareaaroundasensitivebuilding.The
securitysystemalreadyincludescameras,thermalcamerasanddoorcontrollers.Radarscantriggereventsthatcausecamerasto
tracktheintruder,zoomin,andrecordactivity.Flashingbeacons,linkedtothermalcameras,aretriggeredtoashsotheintruder
knowsthattheareaisprotected.Anddoorcontrollerscanrestrictaccess.Theradarshelpthedefencesystemmoveintoaction
longbeforetheintruderhasreachedthesensitivebuilding.
Coveralargeopenarea
Aparkinglotoutsideasmallshoppingcenterhashadincreasedvehiclebreak-insafterhours.Theyhaveonesecurityguardonduty
atatimebutfeeltheyneedtobolstertheirsecurityatnightwithouttheaddedcostofhiringmorestaff.Theyhavedecidedtoinstall
twosecurityradars,intheAreamonitoringprole,mountedback-to-backsothattheycovertheentireparkingarea.Theradarsare
conguredtoalerttheon-dutysecurityguardofsuspiciousbehaviorsothattheycaninvestigatethescene.Theycouldalsoinstalla
hornspeakerthatistriggeredbytheradarstoplayanalertthatmaydeterthieves.

Tomonitorvehiclestravellingalongaroadyoucanmounttheradarontothesideoftheroad.Theradarwillprovidealateral
coveragedistanceof10m(3ft).
Centermounted
Thismountingoptionrequiresastableposition.Theradarcanbemountedonapoleinthemiddleoftheroadoronabridgeabove
theroad.Theradarwillthenprovidealateralcoveragedistanceof10m(3ft)tobothsidesoftheradar.Theradarcoversa
broaderlateraldistancewhencentermounted.

Werecommendthattheradarismountedataheightbetween3m(10ft)and8m(6ft)fortheRoadmonitoringprole.
Roaddetectionrange
Detectionrangeisthedistancewithinwhichanobjectcanbetrackedandcantriggeranalarm.Itismeasuredfromneardetection
limit(howclosetothedeviceadetectioncanbemade)toafardetectionlimit(howfarfromthedeviceadetectioncanbemade).
Thisproleisoptimizedfordetectionofvehiclesandwillproduceavelocityaccuracyof+/-km/h(1.4mph)whenmonitoring

Anindustrialcomplexwithalongroadbetweentwowarehouseshasinstalledaradartohelpenforceaspeedlimitof60km/h(37
mph).IntheRoadmonitoringprole,theradarcandetectwhenavehicleinitsdetectionzoneexceedsthatspeed.Itthentriggersan
eventwhichsendsanemailnoticationstodriversandmanagers.Thereminderhelpsincreasecompliancewiththespeedrestrictions.
Unwantedvehiclesonaclosedroad
Asmallroadouttoanoldquarryhasbeenclosed,however,reportsofvehiclesdrivingontheroadhaveresultedinauthorities
installingasecurityradarintheRoadmonitoringprole.Theradarismountedalongsidetheroadandcoverstheentirewidthof
theroad.Wheneveravehicleentersthescenario,ittriggersaashingbeaconthatwarnsdriverstoleavetheroad.Italsosendsa
messagetothesecurityteamsothattheycandispatchaunitifneeded.
Speedawarenessontheroad
Aroadthatpassesthroughasmalltownhashadsomeincidentsofspeeding.Toenforcethespeedlimitof70km/h(43mph),the
trafccontrolhasinstalledasecurityradar,intheRoadmonitoringprole,onabridgethatcrossesovertheroad.Thishas
allowedthemtodetectthespeedthatvehiclesaretravellingatandmonitorwhentheyshouldhaveunitsstationedlongthe
roadtocontrolthetrafc.
Safetywithhumansandvehicles
Staffataschoolhaveidentiedtwosafetyissuesthattheywouldliketoaddress.Theyhaveexperiencedunwantedvisitorsentering
thepremisesduringtheschoolday,aswellasvehiclesviolatingthelowspeedzoneof0km/h(1mph)outsidetheschool.The
radarismountedonapole,nexttothepedestrianwalkpath.TheAreaonitoringproleonpage5waschosen,asitmakes
theradarcapableoftrackingbothhumansandvehiclesmovingatspeedslowerthan55km/h(34mph).Thishelpsthestaff

Theradarisreadytouseassoonasitisinstalled.Thedefaultliveviewwillshowtheradarcoverageandanydetectedmovement,and
youcanadddetectionzonesandrulesrightaway.
Iftheradarismounted3.5m(1 1ft)aboveground,thereisnoneedtodoanythingelse.Iftheradarismountedonadifferentheight
youneedtocalibratetheradartocompensateforthemountingheight.
Tomakeiteasiertoseewhereobjectsaremoving,youcanuploadareferencemap,forexampleagroundplanoranaerialphoto,
thatshowstheareacoveredbytheradar.
Imagerequirements:
•Supportedleformatsarejpegandpng.
