Toimproveimagequalityforspecicsurveillancescenes,useexposuremodes.Exposuremodesletsyoucontrolaperture,shutter
speed,andgain.GotoVideoImageExposureandselectbetweenthefollowingexposuremodes:
•Formostusecases,selectAutomaticexposure.
•Forenvironmentswithcertainarticiallighting,forexampleuorescentlighting,selectFlicker-free.
Selectthesamefrequencyasthepowerlinefrequency.
•Forenvironmentswithcertainarticiallightandbrightlight,forexampleoutdoorswithuorescentlightingatnightand
sunduringdaytime,selectFlicker-reduced.

Handlesceneswithstrongbacklight
Dynamicrangeisthedifferenceinlightlevelsinanimage.Insomecasesthedifferencebetweenthedarkestandthebrightest
areascanbesignicant.Theresultisoftenanimagewhereeitherthedarkorthebrightareasarevisible.Widedynamicrange
(WDR)makesbothdarkandbrightareasoftheimagevisible.

thatspecicpan/tiltrange.Whenyouhavesetafocusrecallareaandthecameraentersthatareaintheliveview,thecamera
recallsthepreviouslysavedfocus.It’senoughtocoverhalfoftheareaforthecameratorecallthefocus.
Clicktoselectaguardtour,thenclickStarttoplaytheguardtour.Or,clickSetuptogototheguardtourspage.
Clicktomanuallyturnontheheaterforaselectedperiodoftime.
Clicktostartacontinuousrecordingofthelivevideostream.Clickagaintostoptherecording.Ifarecordingisongoing,it
willresumeautomaticallyafterareboot.
Clicktoshowthestoragethatisconguredforthedevice.Tocongurethestorage,youneedtobeloggedinasan
administrator.
Clicktoaccessmoresettings:
•Videoformat:Selecttheencodingformattouseintheliveview.
•Clientstreaminformation:Turnontoshowdynamicinformationaboutthevideostreamusedbythebrowserthat
showsthelivevideostream.Thebitrateinformationdiffersfromtheinformationshowninatextoverlay,becauseof
differentinformationsources.Thebitrateintheclientstreaminformationisthebitrateofthelastsecond,andit
comesfromtheencodingdriverofthedevice.Thebitrateintheoverlayistheaveragebitrateofthelast5seconds,
anditcomesfromthebrowser.Bothvaluescoveronlytherawvideostreamandnottheadditionalbandwidth
generatedwhenit’stransportedoverthenetworkthroughUDP/TCP/HTTP.
•Adaptivestream:Turnontoadapttheimageresolutiontotheviewingclient’sactualdisplayresolution,toimprove
theuserexperienceandhelppreventapossibleoverloadoftheclient’shardware.Theadaptivestreamisonly
appliedwhenyouviewthelivevideostreaminthewebinterfaceinabrowser.Whenadaptivestreamisturnedon,
themaximumframerateis30fps.Ifyoutakeasnapshotwhileadaptivestreamisturnedon,itwillusetheimage
resolutionselectedbytheadaptivestream.
•Levelgrid:Clicktoshowthelevelgrid.Thegridhelpsyoudecideiftheimageishorizontallyaligned.Click
tohideit.
•Pixelcounter:Clicktoshowthepixelcounter.Dragandresizetheboxtocontainyourareaofinterest.Youcan
alsodenethepixelsizeoftheboxintheWidthandHeightelds.
•Refresh:Clicktorefreshthestillimageintheliveview.
•PTZcontrols:TurnontodisplayPTZcontrolsintheliveview.
Clicktoshowtheliveviewatfullresolution.Ifthefullresolutionislargerthanyourscreensize,usethesmallerimageto
navigateintheimage.
Clicktoshowthelivevideostreaminfullscreen.PressESCtoexitfullscreenmode.
