congurationwizard.Inthiswizard,youcancongureseveralbasicandnecessarysettingsbeforeyoumanageyourdevicein
AXISRecorderToolbox.
1.SelectLightorDarkthemeandclickNext.
2.ChangethecomputernameifyouwantandclickNext.
3.Underowersettings,
-NeverputthecomputertosleepandNeverturnoffthedisplayareselectedbydefault.
-Werecommendthatyoukeepbothoptionsselectedtomaketheliveviewandrecordingsavailableallthetime.
YoucanalwaysgotoStart>Settings>System>ower&sleeptochangethesettings.
4.UnderDateandtime,congurethefollowingsettingsandclickNext.
-Selectatimezone.
-TosetupanNTPserver,selectNTserverandentertheNTPserveraddress.
-Tosetmanually,selectManualandselectadateandtime.
5.UnderNetworksettings,congurethefollowingsettingsandclickNext.
-UseautomaticIsettings(DHC)andUseautomaticDNSsettingsareturnedonbydefault.
-IfyourdeviceisconnectedtoanetworkwithaHCPserver,theassignedIPaddress,subnetmask,gateway,and
preferredNSareautomaticallydisplayed.
-IfyourdeviceisnotconnectedtoanetworkorthereisnoHCPserveravailable,entertheIPaddress,subnet

Stationserverforcommunicationbetweentheserverandtheclient.Ifrequired,theportscanbechangedfromAXISCamera
StationServiceControl.
Securityconsiderations
Topreventunauthorizedaccesstocamerasandrecordings,keepthefollowinginmind:
•Usestrongpasswordsforallnetworkdevices(cameras,videoencodersandauxiliarydevices).
•InstallAXISCameraStationserver,cameras,videoencoders,andauxiliarydevicesonasecurenetworkseparated
fromtheofcenetwork.AXISCameraStationclientcanbeinstalledonacomputeronanothernetwork,forexample
anetworkwithInternetaccess.
•Ensureallusershavestrongpasswords.UsingWindowsActiveirectoryahighlevelofsecuritycanbeimplemented.

Beforeauserorgroupcanbeadded,theuserorgroupmustberegisteredonthelocalcomputerorhaveanWindowsActiveirectory
useraccount.UsingWindowsActiveirectory,ahighlevelofsecuritycanbeimplemented.
Whenauserispartofagroup,theusergetsthehighestrolepermissionthatisassignedtotheindividualandthegroup.

•Operator:AccesstoliveandrecordedvideoofselectedcamerasandaccesstoselectedI/Oportsandviews.Anoperator
hasfullaccesstoallfunctionalityofAXISCameraStationexceptsystemconguration.
•Viewer:AccesstolivevideoofselectedcamerasandaccesstoselectedI/Oportsandviews.Aviewerdoesnothaveaccess
torecordedvideoorsystemconguration.
