2.Entertheusernameandpassword.Ifyouaccessthedeviceforthersttime,youmustsettherootpassword.SeeSeta
newpasswordfortherootaccountonpage4.
Setanewpasswordfortherootaccount
Important
Thedefaultadministratorusernameisroot.Ifthepasswordforrootislost,resetthedevicetofactorydefaultsettings.
1.Typeapassword.Followtheinstructionsaboutsecurepasswords.SeeSecurepasswordsonpage4.
2.Retypethepasswordtoconrmthespelling.
3.ClickSave.Thepasswordhasnowbeencongured.
Securepasswords
Important
Axisdevicessendtheinitiallysetpasswordincleartextoverthenetwork.Toprotectyourdeviceaftertherstlogin,set
upasecureandencryptedHTTPSconnectionandthenchangethepassword.
Thedevicepasswordistheprimaryprotectionforyourdataandservices.Axisdevicesdonotimposeapasswordpolicyasthey
maybeusedinvarioustypesofinstallations.
Toprotectyourdatawestronglyrecommendthatyou:
•seapasswordwithatleast8characters,preferablycreatedbyapasswordgenerator.
•Don’texposethepassword.
•Changethepasswordatarecurringinterval,atleastonceayear.

Calibrateandrunremotespeakertest
Thespeakertestisatestthatcanbeinitiatedfromaremotelocationtoverifythatthespeakerisworkingasintended.Formore
information,seeSpeakertestonpage14.
Note
Duringcalibration,itisrecommendedthatsomeoneisphysicallypresentattheinstallationsitetolistentothetesttonesand
ensurethatthetesttonesarenotmufedorblockedbyanyunintendedobstructionsinthespeaker’sacousticpath.
Calibratetheaudiodevice:
1.GotoAudio>Devicesettings.
2.ClickCalibratetocalibratetheaudiodevice.
OncetheAxisproductiscalibrated,thespeakertestcanberunatanytime:
1.GotoAudio>Audiosettings.
2.ClickTesttorunthespeakertest.
Note
Itisalsopossibletorunthecalibrationbypressingthecontrolbutton.SeeProductoverviewonpage20toidentifythe

agentswithinthesameIPnetworkandthereisnoneedforextrafeaturesthataPBX-servercouldprovide.Forinformationon

TherearetwotypesofsetupsforSIP.APBX-serverisoneofthem.seaPBX-serverwhenthecommunicationshouldbebetweenan
innitenumberofuseragentswithinandoutsidetheIPnetwork.Additionalfeaturescouldbeaddedtothesetupdependingonthe

Severalactionsrulescanbecombined,orhavearelationtoeachother.Inthisexampletheaudiodeviceisconguredtosendan
emailtoadenedrecipientwhenaspeakertestfails.Thespeakertestisconguredtobeperformed18:00everyday.
