Please familiarize yourself with the proper
usage of the device by reading and following
each chapter of this manual, in the order
presented. Keep these operating instruc-
tions for further reference.
Please read the enclosed “General safety
instructions for power tools” and all
additional safety instructions in this
operating instructions!
This manual contains important information
on operating and handling the device. Keep
these operating instructions for further
reference. Please pass it on along with the
unit if it is handed over to a third party.
Battery and charger not included!
The battery is available separately under
art.No: 7062517 (2 Ah), 7062518 (4 Ah) or
7063735 (5 Ah). The charger is available
separately under art.No: 7063688 (2.4 A) or
7063554 (4 A).
These items are available online and in par-
ticipating stores.
1. Explanation of the symbols
The following symbols are used in the user
manual or on the product:
Warning! To reduce the risk of
injury, the user must read the
instruction manual.
Denotes risk of personal injury, loss
of life or damage to the tool in case
of non-observance of the instruc-
tions in this manual.
Always wear hearing protection.
The effects of noise can cause
hearing loss.
Wear safety glasses. When working
with electric power tools, sparks,
splinters, chips and dust particles
may be generated and these can
cause loss of sight.
Wear protective headgear.
Wear safety gloves.
Wear sturdy shoes.
Do not expose to rain or water.
Beware of kickback.
Keep sufcient distance to electri-
cal power lines.
CE stands for “Conformité
Européenne”, which means “In
accordance with EU Regulations”.
With the CE marking, the manufac-
turer conrms that this Electric tool
complies with the applicable Euro-
pean directives.
Do not dispose of electric power
tools with domestic refuse.
2. General power tool safety
warnings
WARNING! Read all safety warn-
ings, instructions, illustrations and
specications provided with this
power tool. Failure to follow all instructions
listed below may result in electric shock, re
and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for
future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers
to your mains-operated (corded) power tool
or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
2.1 Work area safety
a. Keep work area clean and well lit.
Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
b. Do not operate power tools in explo-
sive atmospheres, such as in the pres-
ence of ammable liquids, gases or
dust. Power tools create sparks which
may ignite the dust or fumes.
c. Keep children and bystanders away
while operating a power tool. Distrac-
tions can cause you to lose control.
2.2 Electrical safety
a. Power tool plugs must match the out-
let. Never modify the plug in any way.
Do not use any adapter plugs with
earthed (grounded) power tools.
Unmodied plugs and matching outlets
will reduce risk of electric shock.

b. Avoid body contact with earthed or
grounded surfaces, such as pipes,
radiators, ranges and refrigerators.
There is an increased risk of electric
shock if your body is earthed or
grounded.
c. Do not expose power tools to rain or
wet conditions. Water entering a power
tool will increase the risk of electric
shock.
d. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the
cord for carrying, pulling or unplug-
ging the power tool. Keep cord away
from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving
parts. Damaged or entangled cords
increase the risk of electric shock.
e. When operating a power tool outdoors,
use an extension cord suitable for
outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for
outdoor use reduces the risk of electric
shock.
f. If operating a power tool in a damp
location is unavoidable, use a residual
current device (RCD) protected supply.
Use of an RCD reduces the risk of elec-
tric shock.
2.3 Personal safety
a. Stay alert, watch what you are doing
and use common sense when operat-
ing a power tool. Do not use a power
tool while you are tired or under the
inuence of drugs, alcohol or medica-
tion. A moment of inattention while
operating power tools may result in
serious personal injury.
b. Use personal protective equipment.
Always wear eye protection. Protective
equipment such as a dust mask, non-
skid safety shoes, hard hat or hearing
protection used for appropriate condi-
tions will reduce personal injuries.
c. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure
the switch is in the off-position before
connecting to power source and/or
battery pack, picking up or carrying
the tool. Carrying power tools with your
nger on the switch or energising power
tools that have the switch on invites
accidents.
d. Remove any adjusting key or wrench
before turning the power tool on. A
wrench or a key left attached to a rotat-
ing part of the power tool may result in
personal injury.
e. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing
and balance at all times. This enables
better control of the power tool in unex-
pected situations
f. Dress properly. Do not wear loose
clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair
and clothing away from moving parts.
Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can
be caught in moving parts.
g. If devices are provided for the connec-
tion of dust extraction and collection
facilities, ensure these are connected
and properly used. Use of dust collec-
tion can reduce dust-related hazards.
h. Do not let familiarity gained from fre-
quent use of tools allow you to
become complacent and ignore tool
safety principles. A careless action can
cause severe injury within a fraction of
a second.
2.4 Power tool use and care
a. Do not force the power tool. Use the
correct power tool for your applica-
tion. The correct power tool will do the
job better and safer at the rate for
which it was designed.
b. Do not use the power tool if the switch
does not turn it on and off. Any power
tool that cannot be controlled with the
switch is dangerous and must be
repaired.
c. Disconnect the plug from the power
source and/or remove the battery
pack, if detachable, from the power
tool before making any adjustments,
changing accessories, or storing
power tools. Such preventive safety
measures reduce the risk of starting
the power tool accidentally.
d. Store idle power tools out of the reach
of children and do not allow persons
unfamiliar with the power tool or these
instructions to operate the power tool.
Power tools are dangerous in the
hands of untrained users.

e. Maintain power tools and accessories.
Check for misalignment or binding of
moving parts, breakage of parts and
any other condition that may affect
the power tool’s operation. If dam-
aged, have the power tool repaired
before use. Many accidents are
caused by poorly maintained power
tools.
f. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
Properly maintained cutting tools with
sharp cutting edges are less likely to
bind and are easier to control.
g. Use the power tool, accessories and
tool bits etc. in accordance with these
instructions, taking into account the
working conditions and the work to be
performed. Use of the power tool for
operations different from those
intended could result in a hazardous
situation.
h. Keep handles and grasping surfaces
dry, clean and free from oil and
grease. Slippery handles and grasping
surfaces do not allow for safe han-
dling and control of the tool in unex-
pected situations.
2.5 Battery tool use and care
a. Recharge only with the charger speci-
ed by the manufacturer. A charger
that is suitable for one type of battery
pack may create a risk of re when used
with another battery pack.
b. Use power tools only with specically
designated battery packs. Use of any
other battery packs may create a risk of
injury and re.
c. When battery pack is not in use, keep
it away from other metal objects, like
paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws
or other small metal objects, that can
make a connection from one terminal
to another. Shorting the battery termi-
nals together may cause burns or a re.
d. Under abusive conditions, liquid may
be ejected from the battery; avoid
contact. If contact accidentally
occurs, ush with water. If liquid con-
tacts eyes, additionally seek medical
help. Liquid ejected from the battery
may cause irritation or burns.
e. Do not use a battery pack or tool that
is damaged or modied. Damaged or
modied batteries may exhibit unpre-
dictable behaviour resulting in re,
explosion or risk of injury.
f. Do not expose a battery pack or tool to
re or excessive temperature. Expo-
sure to re or temperature above 130 °C
may cause explosion.
g. Follow all charging instructions and do
not charge the battery pack or tool
outside the temperature range speci-
ed in the instructions. Charging
improperly or at temperatures outside
the specied range may damage the
battery and increase the risk of re.
2.6 Service
a. Have your power tool serviced by a
qualied repair person using only
identical replacement parts. This will
ensure that the safety of the power tool
is maintained.
b. Never service damaged battery packs.
Service of battery packs should only be
performed by the manufacturer or
authorized service providers.
3. Additional safety instructions for
Nexxsaw
a. The Nexxsaw is designed for cutting
branches. Only use the Nexxsaw as
indicated in this manual for cutting
wood. The machine has not been
designed for continuous, professional
use.
b. Keep the Nexxsaw out of reach of chil-
dren. It is not a toy.
c. Persons with limited physical, sensorial
or mental abilities are not allowed to
use the Nexxsaw, unless they are super-
vised for their safety by a qualied per-
son or are briefed by the responsible
person how to use the machine.
d. Children and adolescents are not
allowed to use the Nexxsaw. Excluded
from this prohibition are young people
over 16 years of age under the supervi-

sion of an expert for the purpose of
training.
e. Please note the warning symbols. They
mark all those instructions which are
important for safety reasons. Observe
these instructions as failure to do so
could result in serious injury!
f. The Nexxsaw must be used only by one
person at a time. Make sure bystanders
do not stay in the vicinity of the Nexx-
saw’s work area.
g. Check the safe operating condition of
the Nexxsaw, in particular the guide bar
and the saw chain, before each
operation.
h. Always have a safe stand when working
with the saw.
i. Hold the machine rmly and securely
when switching on.
j. Make sure the guide bar and the saw
chain must be free when switched on
and must not come into contact with
the workpiece to be cut.
k. Keep your hands away from the sawing
area. Do not reach under the workpiece.
Contact with the saw chain may result
in injury.
l. Guide the Nexxsaw onto the workpiece
only when switched on. Otherwise there
is a risk of kickback if the saw chain
gets caught in the workpiece.
m. When sawing, the base plate must
always face against the workpiece. The
saw chain can become jammed and
lead to loss of control over the machine.
n. When the cut is completed, switch off
the machine and then pull the saw
chain out of the cut only after it has
come to a standstill. This way you can
avoid kickback.
o. Clamp the material to be processed
well. Do not support the workpiece with
your hand or foot. Do not touch objects
or the oor with the saw running. Dan-
ger of kickback.
p. When sawing converted timber and thin
branches always use a strong support,
such as a sawing trestle. Do not stack
timber pieces.
q. Before cutting logs, secure the logs in
position.
r. When working on sloping ground, make
sure to work facing upwards.
s. Be particularly careful when cutting
splintered wood. Splinters of wood can
be torn along by the saw chain and
increase the risk of injury!
t. Foreign objects such as nails, screws,
metal parts, sand, etc. lead to increased
wear on the guide bar and saw chain.
u. A blunt saw chain can cause overheat-
ing and damage to the motor.
v. Always pull out the battery when check-
ing the chain tension, to re-tighten it, to
mount the saw chain and to eliminate
faults! Also remove the battery if you do
not use the machine temporarily.
4. Safety instructions for chain
saws
4.1 General chain saw safety warnings:
a. Keep all parts of the body away from
the saw chain when the chain saw is
operating. Before you start the chain
saw, make sure the saw chain is not
contacting anything. A moment of
inattention while operating chain saws
may cause entanglement of your cloth-
ing or body with the saw chain.
b. Hold the chain saw by insulated grip-
ping surfaces only, because the saw
chain may contact hidden wiring. Saw
chains contacting a “live” wire may
make exposed metal parts of the chain
saw “live’” and could give the operator
an electric shock.
c. Wear eye protection. Further protec-
tive equipment for hearing, head,
hands, legs and feet is recommended.
Adequate protective equipment will
reduce personal injury from ying
debris or accidental contact with the
saw chain.
d. Always keep proper footing and oper-
ate the chain saw only when standing
on xed, secure and level surface.
Slippery or unstable surfaces may
cause a loss of balance or control of the
chain saw.

e. When cutting a limb that is under ten-
sion, be alert for spring back. When
the tension in the wood bres is
released, the spring loaded limb may
strike the operator and/or throw the
chain saw out of control.
f. Use extreme caution when cutting
brush and saplings. The slender mate-
rial may catch the saw chain and be
whipped toward you or pull you off
balance.
g. Carry the chain saw by the handle with
the chain saw switched off and away
from your body. When transporting or
storing the chain saw, always t the
guide bar cover Proper handling of the
chain saw will reduce the likelihood of
accidental contact with the moving saw
chain.
h. Follow instructions for lubricating,
chain tensioning and changing the bar
and chain. Improperly tensioned or
lubricated chain may either break or
increase the chance for kickback.
i. Cut wood only. Do not use chain saw
for purposes not intended. For exam-
ple: do not use chain saw for cutting
metal, plastic, masonry or non-wood
building materials. Use of the chain
saw for operations different than
intended could result in a hazardous
situation.
j. This chain saw is not intended for tree
felling. Use of the chain saw for opera-
tions different than intended could
result in serious injury to the operator or
bystanders.
k. Follow all instructions when clearing
jammed material, storing or servicing
the chain saw. Make sure the switch is
off and the battery pack is removed.
Unexpected actuation of the chain saw
while clearing jammed material or ser-
vicing may result in serious personal
injury.
5. Causes and operator prevention
of kickback
Kickback may occur when the nose or tip of
the guide bar touches an object, or when
the wood closes in and pinches the saw
chain in the cut.
Tip contact in some cases may cause a
sudden reverse reaction, kicking the guide
bar up and back towards the operator.
Pinching the saw chain along the top of the
guide bar may push the guide bar rapidly
back towards the operator.
Either of these reactions may cause you to
lose control of the saw which could result in
serious personal injury. Do not rely exclu-
sively upon the safety devices built into your
saw. As a chain saw user, you should take
several steps to keep your cutting jobs free
from accident or injury.
(See Fig. B). Kickback is the result of chain
saw misuse and/or incorrect operating
procedures or conditions and can be
avoided by taking proper precautions as
given below:
a. Maintain a rm grip, with thumb and
ngers encircling the saw handle and
position your body and arm to allow
you to resist kickback forces. Kick-
back forces can be controlled by the
operator, if proper precautions are
taken. Do not let go of the saw.
b. Do not overreach and do not cut above
shoulder height. This helps prevent
unintended tip contact and enables
better control of the chain saw in unex-
pected situations.
c. Only use replacement guide bars and
saw chains specied by the manufac-
turer. Incorrect replacement guide bars
and saw chains may cause chain break-
age and/or kickback.
d. Follow the manufacturer’s sharpening
and maintenance instructions for the
saw chain. Decreasing the depth gauge
height can lead to increased kickback.

6. Additional battery and charger
safety notes
WARNING: Li-Ion batteries, if incorrectly
used, stored or charged are a re, burn and
explosion hazard.
Use the battery charger correctly
a. Only plug the battery charger to 230 V
mains power.
b. Refer to the section of this manual relat-
ing to use of the battery charger before
attempting to charge the battery.
c. Do not attempt to use the charger with
any batteries other than those supplied.
Keep the battery charger clean; foreign
objects and dirt can cause a short cir-
cuit and block the ventilation holes.
Failure to follow these instructions may
cause overheating or re.
d. Allow batteries to cool for 15 minutes
after charging or heavy use. Failure to
follow these instructions may cause
overheating or re.
e. Recharge only with the charger speci-
ed by the manufacturer. A charger that
is suitable for one type of battery may
create a risk of re when used with
another battery pack. Charge the lith-
ium- ion battery only with the supplied
charger or a charger specically
designed for this item.
f. Use the machine only with specically
designated battery packs. Use of any
other battery packs may create a risk of
injury and re.
g. If the power cord of the charger is dam-
aged, it must be replaced by the manu-
facturer, an authorised service work-
shop or a specialist before use.
h. Keep the battery out of reach of
children.
i. When not in use batteries should be
stored at room temperature (approx. 20
°C).
j. When battery is not in use, make sure
the battery cannot be shorted acciden-
tally. Keep the battery clean at all times.
Keep it away from other metal objects,
like paper clips, coins, keys, nails,
screws or other small metal objects
that can make a connection from one
terminal to another. Shorting the battery
terminals together may cause burns or
a re.
k. If used incorrectly, liquid may leak from
the battery. Avoid contact with it. In
case of accidental contact, rinse with
water. If the liquid gets into the eyes,
seek additional medical attention. Leak-
ing battery uid may cause skin irrita-
tion or burns.
l. Protect the battery and charger from
moisture. Do not operate the charger
outdoors.
m. When the charger is not in use, unplug it
from the wall socket before cleaning
and servicing.
n. Take special care of the battery. Avoid
dropping it onto any hard surface and
do not subject it to pressure or any
other form of mechanical stress. Keep
the battery away from extreme heat or
cold. Do not open, disassemble, crush,
heat above 60 °C or incinerate. Do not
dispose of in re or similar.
o. Only use original accessories and origi-
nal spare parts.
p. In the interest of your own safety, do not
modify the Nexxsaw in any way.
q. Should the Nexxsaw becomes dam-
aged do not use it and have it repaired
by a professional or contact our cus-
tomer support department. Do not
disassemble the machine or try repair-
ing it yourself.
r. The machine is designed for operation
in altitudes of up to 2000 m above sea
level.
7. Before the rst use
Remove the machine and all accessories
from the package. Keep the packaging
materials out of the reach of small children.
There is a danger of suffocation!

9. Intended use
• The Nexxsaw has been exclusively
designed for cutting branches. The saw
is not intended for continuous commer-
cial use.
• The intended use also includes an opera-
tion following the operating instructions.
• In conjunction with the extension handle,
the Nexxsaw can be used as a pruner for
cutting branches.
• Any use beyond these parameters (dif-
ferent media, applying force) or any
changes (reconstruction, no original
accessory) can lead to serious risks and
is regarded as use that is contrary to the
intended purpose.
10. Use
10.1 Setting up the battery charger (battery
and charger not included)
a. If tted, remove the battery from the
battery charger.
b. Insert the battery charger mains plug
into a suitable mains socket.
Note: One LED on the charger will indicate
ready status. For further information please
refer to the included manual of the included
charger.
WARNING: Only use the charger to charge
compatible batteries that are specically
designed for this tool.
WARNING: The charger is designed for
indoor use only, and must not be used in
damp or wet conditions.
10.2 Charging the battery
WARNING: Failure to follow the correct
procedure when charging batteries will
result in permanent damage.
Note: Normal charging time is 1 hour for a
recently discharged battery. However, if the
battery has been left in a discharged state
for some time, it may take up to 1.5 hours to
charge.
a. Slide a fully or partially discharged bat-
tery onto the battery charger.
b. Once charging commences, the red
LED will illuminate.
c. When the battery is fully charged, the
green LED will illuminate. If the battery
is defective the red LED ashes!
Note: Make sure the battery and battery
charger are lined up correctly. If the battery
does not slide onto the battery charger
easily, do not force it. Instead, remove the
battery, check the top of battery and the
battery charger slot are clean and undam-
aged and that the contacts are not bent.
10.3 Battery charge level
The battery has a built-in charge indicator.
Pressing on the button to the right will indi-
cate the charge level. The right LED indi-
cates a high charge level and the left a low
charge level that will mean the battery will
require charging soon.
IMPORTANT: When a low charge level is
indicated be aware the tool may stop oper-
ating while using the tool. In some
instances this may be dangerous. It is rec-
ommended to always ensure the battery
has a good charge level.
Notes about battery charging
a. The battery should be charged at ambi-
ent temperatures between 10 °C and
40°C (ideally around 20 °C).
b. After charging, allow 15 minutes for the
battery to cool before use.
c. Ensure that the charger is disconnected
from the mains supply after use, and is
stored correctly.
d. Do not leave batteries on charge for
extended periods and never store bat-
teries on charge.
e. The battery charger monitors battery
temperature and voltage while charg-
ing. Remove the battery once charging
has been completed to maximise
charge cycles of the battery and not
waste power.
f. Batteries can become faulty over time,
individual cells in the battery can fail
and the battery could short. The
charger will not charge faulty batteries.
Use another battery, if possible, to
check correct functionality of the
charger and purchase a replacement
battery if a faulty battery is indicated.
g. Do not store Lithium-Ion battery packs
in a discharged state long term. This
can damage the Lithium-Ion cells. For
long-term storage, store batteries in a

high charge state disconnected from
the power tool.
h. The capacity of batteries will reduce
over time. After 100 charge cycles, the
battery’s operation time and the maxi-
mum torque performance of the tool
will slightly reduce. This decline will
continue until the battery has minimal
capacity after 500 charge cycles. This
is normal and not a fault with the bat-
tery pack.
10.4 Mounting the saw chain
(See Fig. C, D, E).
Always wear gloves when handling the
saw chain.
a. Unscrew the head screw (3) coun-
ter-clockwise in order to remove the
sprocket cover (2).
b. Remove the guide bar from the machine
and run the saw chain around it.
Please note the running direction of the
saw chain. The saw chain icon is shown
on the cover.
c. Run the saw chain over the sprocket
(16) and replace the guide bar on the
chain adjusting screw pin (17).
d. Use an oiler to oil the saw chain and the
sprocket.
e. Slightly tighten the saw chain with the
chain adjusting screw (7). Use the
included adjustment key (11) to tighten
the screw. For tightening, turn the screw
clockwise.
f. Re-tighten the sprocket cover (2) with
the head screw (3) on the housing.
10.5 Chain lubricating oil
• Only use commercially available, biode-
gradable chain oils.
• Do not use engine oil, waste oil or other
mineral oils.
• If the saw makes a rattling noise, the
chain must be lubricated.
10.6 Adjusting saw chain tension
(See Fig. C).
CAUTION: Do not tighten the saw chain too
much. Excessively high tension of saw
chain may cause breakage of saw chain,
wear of the guide bar and breakage of the
sprocket.
CAUTION: A chain which is too loose can
jump off the guide bar.
The saw chain may become loose after use.
From time to time check the saw chain
tension, certainly before each use.
a. Remove the battery.
b. Loosen the head screw (3) a bit to
loosen the sprocket cover lightly.
c. Adjust the chain tension. Turn the chain
head screw (7) clockwise to tighten,
turn it counter-clockwise to loosen.
Tighten the saw chain so that the gap
between the centre of the lower side of
the guide bar and the saw chain
becomes approximately 3 – 4 mm.
d. Tighten the head screw (3) to secure
the sprocket cover.
10.7 Switching ON and OFF
The use of the Nexxsaw without lubricating
the chain with chain oil will damage the saw
chain and the guide bar.
a. Insert the battery into the battery
recess.
b. Hold the Nexxsaw rmly and securely
by the handgrip.
c. To switch on the Nexxsaw, rst press
the safety switch (1).
d. Then press the ON/OFF switch (10).
e. To switch off the saw, release the ON/
OFF switch.
10.8 Break-in time for new saw chains
a. Remove the battery and adjust the
chain tension.
b. Switch on the Nexxsaw and leave the
motor running idle for approx. 5
minutes.
c. Remove the battery and check the
chain tension again. If necessary,
re-tighten the chain.
d. Afterwards make only easy cuts for
approx. 30 minutes. Always ensure
sufcient lubrication of the saw chain!
Only use the Nexxsaw for heavier cuts
and greater cutting depths after the
running-in period has expired.
• Use only a sharp saw chain. A blunt saw
chain can jam more easily. Check the
chain tension more frequently when

working with a new saw chain, as the
chain stretches more at rst.
• The service life of a saw chain depends
on sufcient lubrication and the correct
tension.
• During operation, the chain heats up and
re-tensioning may be necessary. Relax
the chain after work so that it is not too
tight the next time the cold machine is
used.
• Do not re-tighten saw chains that have
become too hot. After it has cooled
down, it may contract and lie too tight
against the sword. Wait until the saw
chain has cooled down before
re-tensioning.
• The tension of the saw chain is impor-
tant for your safety and the function of
the machine. A correctly tensioned saw
chain increases the service life of the
machine.
• Check the chain tension before each use.
• The saw chain is correctly tensioned if it
can be pulled around the sword by hand
(wear protective gloves) without sagging.
• With new saw chains, you must readjust
the chain tension again after a short
period of operation.
10.9 Work instructions
• Never reach over the riving knife (4) or
under the base plate (8). There is a risk
of injury!
• Do not cut if the saw chain is in contact
with the workpiece, is in the workpiece or
may hit an object. This can lead to seri-
ous injuries.
• Clamp loose workpieces before cutting
them. Remove foreign objects such as
nails, screws, etc.
• When cutting a branch that is under
tension be alert for spring back. When
the tension in the wood bres is released,
the spring-loaded limb may strike the
operator and/or throw the Nexxsaw out
of control.
• Use extreme caution when cutting brush
and saplings. The slender material may
catch the saw chain and be whipped
toward you or pull you off balance.
• When the saw chain is running, rst
place the base plate (8) on the surface of
the workpiece and let the saw cut on its
own. Apply only light pressure to the
saw. The chain speed should not be
much slower.
10.10 Changing the saw chain
• Only handle the saw chain with gloves
and remove the battery rst!
• Inspect the saw chain and the guide bar
for damage or signs of wear.
• Never put a new saw chain on a worn
guide bar.
• Let each new saw chain break-in rst!
• When attaching the saw chain, observe
the running direction!
10.11 Kickback
• The shape of the riving knife (4) largely
eliminates the risk of kickback.
• The saw is optimally protected against
kickback by the riving knife with tip pro-
tection. Never remove the riving knife (4).
There is a risk of injury!
10.12 Sharpen the saw chain
• The saw teeth must be sharpened if the
sawdust becomes powdery, if additional
force is required for the incision, if a
straight incision is no longer possible or
if the vibrations become stronger.
• Blunt saw chains should be
re-sharpened.
• To sharpen the chain use a chain sharp-
ener, make sure you sharpen the chain at
a 30° angle.
• Or have the chain re-sharpened profes-
sionally (advised).
• Replace the saw chain if there is consid-
erable damage that cannot be repaired
by ling.
10.13 Cleaning the guide bar
(See Fig. F).
• Thoroughly clean the notch of the guide
bar.
• Replace the guide bar if the guide groove
is damaged or worn and the saw chain
has too much lateral space.

11. Maintenance, cleaning and
storing
For best performance, always keep the saw
blade and the Nexxsaw in good order.
Remove the battery pack from the tool
before carrying out any adjustment, servic-
ing or maintenance.
• Clean the sprocket area with a brush or
compressed air. (See Fig. G).
• Use a cloth, a paintbrush or a brush to
remove dust and wood splinters. Always
keep the ventilation slots clean and free
from obstructions.
• We recommend that you clean your
electric power tool immediately after
each use.
• Clean the electric power tool regularly
with a damp cloth and somewhat soft
soap. Do not use any cleaning or solvent
materials; these can attack the device’s
plastic components. Make sure that no
water can get inside the electric power
tool.
• Do not let liquids of any kind enter the
Nexxsaw.
• From time to time check that all screws
are rmly secured.
• Store the Nexxsaw and the accessory
indoors in a dry place that is protected
from dust, dirt and extreme
temperatures.
• Store the Nexxsaw out of reach of chil-
dren and persons in need of supervision.

12.1 Vibration level
The declared vibration total value and the
declared noise emission values have been
measured in accordance with a standard
test method (EN 62841) and may be used
for comparing one tool with another. The
declared vibration total value may also be
used in a preliminary assessment of
exposure.
Warning!
The vibration and noise emission during
actual use of the power tool can differ from
the declared total value depending on the
ways in which the tool is used, in particular,
what kind of work piece is machined.
It is necessary to identify safety measured
to protect the operator that are based on an
estimation of exposure in the actual condi-
tions of use (taking account of all parts of
the operating cycle such as the times when
the tool is switched off and when it is run-
ning idle in addition to the trigger time).
Try to minimize the impact of vibration and
noise. Exemplary measures to reduce vibra-
tion exposure include wearing gloves while
using the tool, limiting working time, and
using accessories in good condition.

Do not dispose of electric power
tools with domestic refuse.
The electric power tool is shipped
in packaging to reduce transport damage.
This packaging is a raw material and as
such can either be reused or can be fed
back into the raw material cycle. The elec-
tric power tool and its accessories are
made from various materials such as met-
als and plastics. Take defective compo-
nents to a special refuse collection point.
Ask about these at your specialist shop or
local council.

Think of the environment when disposing of
batteries. Contact your local authorities to
nd out where your nearest disposal area is.

2. Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise
für Elektrowerkzeuge
WARNUNG! Lesen Sie alle Sicher-
heitshinweise, Anweisungen,
Bebilderungen und technischen
Daten, mit denen dieses Elektrowerkzeug
versehen ist. Versäumnisse bei der Einhal-
tung der nachfolgenden Anweisungen kön-
nen elektrischen Schlag, Brand und/oder
schwere Verletzungen verursachen.
Bewahren Sie alle Sicherheitshinweise und
Anweisungen für die Zukunft auf.
Der in den Sicherheitshinweisen verwendete
Begriff „Elektrowerkzeug“ bezieht sich auf
netzbetriebene Elektrowerkzeuge (mit Netz-
leitung) oder auf akkubetriebene Elektro-
werkzeuge (ohne Netzleitung).
2.1 Arbeitsplatzsicherheit
a. Halten Sie Ihren Arbeitsbereich sauber
und gut beleuchtet. Unordnung oder
unbeleuchtete Arbeitsbereiche können
zu Unfällen führen.
b. Arbeiten Sie mit dem Elektrowerkzeug
nicht in explosionsgefährdeter Umge-
bung, in der sich brennbare Flüssigkei-
ten, Gase oder Stäube benden. Elekt-
rowerkzeuge erzeugen Funken, die den
Staub oder die Dämpfe entzünden
können.
c. Halten Sie Kinder und andere Perso-
nen während der Benutzung des Elekt-
rowerkzeugs fern. Bei Ablenkung kön-

nen Sie die Kontrolle über das Elektro-
werkzeug verlieren.
2.2 Elektrische Sicherheit
a. Der Anschlussstecker des Elektro-
werkzeugs muss in die Steckdose
passen. Der Stecker darf in keiner
Weise verändert werden. Verwenden
Sie keine Adapterstecker gemeinsam
mit schutzgeerdeten Elektrowerkzeu-
gen. Unveränderte Stecker und pas-
sende Steckdosen verringern das Risiko
eines elektrischen Schlages.
b. Vermeiden Sie Körperkontakt mit
geerdeten Oberächen wie von Roh-
ren, Heizungen, Herden und Kühl-
schränken. Es besteht ein erhöhtes
Risiko durch elektrischen Schlag, wenn
Ihr Körper geerdet ist.
c. Halten Sie Elektrowerkzeuge von
Regen oder Nässe fern. Das Eindringen
von Wasser in ein Elektrowerkzeug
erhöht das Risiko eines elektrischen
Schlages.
d. Zweckentfremden Sie die Anschluss-
leitung nicht, um das Elektrowerkzeug
zu tragen, aufzuhängen oder um den
Stecker aus der Steckdose zu ziehen.
Halten Sie die Anschlussleitung fern
von Hitze, Öl, scharfen Kanten oder
sich bewegenden Teilen. Beschädigte
oder verwickelte Anschlussleitungen
erhöhen das Risiko eines elektrischen
Schlages.
e. Wenn Sie mit einem Elektrowerkzeug
im Freien arbeiten, verwenden Sie nur
Verlängerungs-leitungen, die auch für
den Außenbereich geeignet sind. Die
Anwendung einer für den Außenbereich
geeigneten Verlängerungsleitung verrin-
gert das Risiko eines elektrischen
Schlages.
f. Wenn der Betrieb des Elektrowerk-
zeugs in feuchter Umgebung nicht
vermeidbar ist, verwenden Sie einen
Fehlerstromschutzschalter. Der Ein-
satz eines Fehlerstromschutzschalters
vermindert das Risiko eines elektri-
schen Schlages.
2.3 Sicherheit von Personen
a. Seien Sie aufmerksam, achten Sie
darauf, was Sie tun, und gehen Sie mit
Vernunft an die Arbeit mit einem Elek-
trowerkzeug. Benutzen Sie kein Elekt-
rowerkzeug, wenn Sie müde sind oder
unter dem Einuss von Drogen, Alko-
hol oder Medikamenten stehen. Ein
Moment der Unachtsamkeit beim
Gebrauch des Elektrowerkzeugs kann
zu ernsthaften Verletzungen führen.
b. Tragen Sie persönliche Schutzausrüs-
tung und immer eine Schutzbrille. Das
Tragen persönlicher Schutzausrüstung,
wie Staubmaske, rutschfeste Sicher-
heitsschuhe, Schutzhelm oder Gehör-
schutz, je nach Art und Einsatz des
Elektrowerkzeugs, verringert das Risiko
von Verletzungen.
c. Vermeiden Sie eine unbeabsichtigte
Inbetriebnahme. Vergewissern Sie
sich, dass das Elektrowerkzeug aus-
geschaltet ist, bevor Sie es an die
Stromversorgung und/oder den Akku
anschließen, es aufnehmen oder tra-
gen. Wenn Sie beim Tragen des Elektro-
werkzeugs den Finger am Schalter
haben oder das Elektrowerkzeug einge-
schaltet an die Stromversorgung
anschließen, kann dies zu Unfällen
führen.
d. Entfernen Sie Einstellwerkzeuge oder
Schraubenschlüssel, bevor Sie das
Elektrowerkzeug einschalten. Ein
Werkzeug oder Schlüssel, der sich in
einem drehenden Teil des Elektrowerk-
zeugs bendet, kann zu Verletzungen
führen.
e. Vermeiden Sie eine abnormale Körper-
haltung. Sorgen Sie für einen sicheren
Stand und halten Sie jederzeit das
Gleichgewicht. Dadurch können Sie
das Elektrowerkzeug in unerwarteten
Situationen besser kontrollieren.
f. Tragen Sie geeignete Kleidung. Tragen
Sie keine weite Kleidung oder
Schmuck. Halten Sie Haare und Klei-
dung fern von sich bewegenden Tei-
len. Lockere Kleidung, Schmuck oder
lange Haare können von sich bewegen-
den Teilen erfasst werden.

g. Wenn Staubabsaug- und -auffangein-
richtungen montiert werden können,
sind diese anzuschließen und richtig
zu verwenden. Verwendung einer Stau-
babsaugung kann Gefährdungen durch
Staub verringern.
h. Wiegen Sie sich nicht in falscher
Sicherheit und setzen Sie sich nicht
über die Sicherheits-Regeln für Elekt-
rowerkzeuge hinweg, auch wenn Sie
nach vielfachem Gebrauch mit dem
Elektrowerkzeug vertraut sind. Achtlo-
ses Handeln kann binnen Sekunden-
bruchteilen zu schweren Verletzungen
führen.
2.4 Verwendung und Behandlung des
Elektrowerkzeugs
a. Überlasten Sie das Elektrowerkzeug
nicht. Verwenden Sie für Ihre Arbeit
das dafür bestimmte Elektrowerkzeug.
Mit dem passenden Elektrowerkzeug
arbeiten Sie besser und sicherer im
angegebenen Leistungsbereich.
b. Benutzen Sie kein Elektrowerkzeug,
dessen Schalter defekt ist. Ein Elektro-
werkzeug, das sich nicht mehr ein- oder
ausschalten lässt, ist gefährlich und
muss repariert werden.
c. Ziehen Sie den Stecker aus der Steck-
dose und/oder entfernen Sie einen
abnehmbaren Akku, bevor Sie Geräte-
einstellungen vornehmen, Einsatz-
werkzeugteile wechseln oder das
Elektrowerkzeug weglegen. Diese
Vorsichtsmaßnahme verhindert den
unbeabsichtigten Start des
Elektrowerkzeugs.
d. Bewahren Sie unbenutzte Elektro-
werkzeuge außerhalb der Reichweite
von Kindern auf. Lassen Sie keine
Personen das Elektrowerkzeug benut-
zen, die mit diesem nicht vertraut sind
oder diese Anweisungen nicht gelesen
haben. Elektrowerkzeuge sind gefähr-
lich, wenn Sie von unerfahrenen Perso-
nen benutzt werden.
e. Pegen Sie Elektrowerkzeuge und
Einsatzwerkzeug mit Sorgfalt. Kont-
rollieren Sie, ob bewegliche Teile ein-
wandfrei funktionieren und nicht
klemmen, ob Teile gebrochen oder so
beschädigt sind, dass die Funktion
des Elektrowerkzeugs beeinträchtigt
ist. Lassen Sie beschädigte Teile vor
dem Einsatz des Elektrowerkzeuges
reparieren. Viele Unfälle haben ihre
Ursache in schlecht gewarteten
Elektrowerkzeugen.
f. Halten Sie Schneidwerkzeuge scharf
und sauber. Sorgfältig gepegte
Schneidwerkzeuge mit scharfen
Schneidkanten verklemmen sich weni-
ger und sind leichter zu führen.
g. Verwenden Sie Elektrowerkzeug, Ein-
satzwerkzeug, Einsatzwerkzeuge usw.
entsprechend diesen Anweisungen.
Berücksichtigen Sie dabei die Arbeits-
bedingungen und die auszuführende
Tätigkeit. Der Gebrauch von Elektro-
werkzeugen für andere als die vorgese-
henen Anwendungen kann zu gefährli-
chen Situationen führen.
h. Halten Sie Griffe und Griffächen
trocken, sauber und frei von Öl und
Fett. Rutschige Griffe und Griffächen
erlauben keine sichere Bedienung und
Kontrolle des Elektrowerkzeugs in
unvorhergesehenen Situationen.
2.5 Verwendung und Behandlung des
Akkuwerkzeugs
a. Laden Sie die Akkus nur mit Ladegerä-
ten auf, die vom Hersteller empfohlen
werden. Durch ein Ladegerät, das für
eine bestimmte Art von Akkus geeignet
ist, besteht Brandgefahr, wenn es mit
anderen Akkus verwendet wird.
b. Verwenden Sie nur die dafür vorgese-
henen Akkus in den Elektrowerkzeu-
gen. Der Gebrauch von anderen Akkus
kann zu Verletzungen und Brandgefahr
führen.
c. Halten Sie den nicht benutzten Akku
fern von Büroklammern, Münzen,
Schlüsseln, Nägeln, Schrauben oder
anderen kleinen Metallgegenständen,
die eine Überbrückung der Kontakte
verursachen könnten. Ein Kurzschluss
zwischen den Akkukontakten kann
Verbrennungen oder Feuer zur Folge
haben.
d. Bei falscher Anwendung kann Flüssig-
keit aus dem Akku austreten. Vermei-

Wenn die Flüssigkeit in die Augen
kommt, nehmen Sie zusätzlich ärztli-
che Hilfe in Anspruch. Austretende
Akkuüssigkeit kann zu Hautreizungen
oder Verbrennungen führen.
e. Benutzen Sie keinen beschädigten
oder veränderten Akku. Beschädigte
oder veränderte Akkus können sich
unvorhersehbar verhalten und zu Feuer,
Explosion oder Verletzungsgefahr
führen.
f. Setzen Sie einen Akku keinem Feuer
oder zu hohen Temperaturen aus.
Feuer oder Tem-peraturen über 130 °C
können eine Explosion hervorrufen.
g. Befolgen Sie alle Anweisungen zum
Laden und laden Sie den Akku oder
das Akkuwerkzeug niemals außerhalb
des in der Betriebsanleitung angege-
benen Temperaturbereichs. Falsches
Laden oder Laden außerhalb des zuge-

2.6 Service

ten bleibt.
b. Warten Sie niemals beschädigte
Akkus. Sämtliche Wartung von Akkus
sollte nur durch den Her-steller oder
bevollmächtigte Kundendienststellen
erfolgen.
3. Zusätzliche Sicherheitshinweise
für Nexxsaw
a. Die Nexxsaw ist bestimmt zum Schnei-
den von Ästen. Verwenden Sie die Nexx-
saw nur in Übereinstimmung mit dieser
Anleitung zum Sägen von Holz im priva-
ten Bereich. Sie ist nicht für den
gewerblichen Dauereinsatz vorgesehen.
b. Halten Sie die Nexxsaw außerhalb der
Reichweite von Kindern. Das Gerät ist
kein Spielzeug.
c. Personen mit eingeschränkten physi-
schen, sensorischen oder geistigen
Fähigkeiten dürfen die Nexxsaw nicht
benutzen, es sei denn sie werden durch
eine für ihre Sicherheit zuständige Per-
son beaufsichtigt oder erhalten von der
zuständigen Person Anweisungen, wie
das Gerät zu benutzen ist.
d. Kinder und Jugendliche dürfen die
Nexxsaw nicht bedienen. Von diesem
Verbot ausgenommen sind Jugendliche
über 16 Jahre unter Aufsicht eines
Fachkundigen zum Zwecke der
Ausbildung.
e. Beachten Sie alle Hinweissymbole. Sie
kennzeichnen Anweisungen, die für die
Sicherheit wichtig sind. Befolgen Sie die
Anweisungen, andernfalls können
schwere Verletzungen die Folge sein!
f. Die Nexxsaw darf immer nur von einer
Person bedient werden. Achten Sie
darauf, dass andere Personen sich nicht
im Arbeitsbereich der Nexxsaw
aufhalten.
g. Prüfen Sie vor jeder Inbetriebnahme
den sicheren Zustand der Säge, insbe-
sondere des Schwertes und der Kette.
h. Sorgen Sie bei der Arbeit für einen
sicheren Stand.
i. Halten Sie die Maschine beim Einschal-
ten gut und sicher fest.
j. Das Schwert und die Sägekette müssen
beim Einschalten frei stehen und dürfen
keinen Kontakt zu dem zu bearbeiten-
den Werkstück haben.
k. Halten Sie die Hände vom Sägebereich
fern. Greifen Sie nicht unter das Werk-
stück. Bei Kontakt mit der Sägekette
besteht Verletzungsgefahr.
l. Führen Sie die Nexxsaw nur eingeschal-
tet auf das Werkstück. Es besteht sonst
die Gefahr eines Rückschlages, wenn
sich die Sägekette im Werkstück
verhakt.
m. Achten Sie darauf, dass die Anschlags-
platte beim Sägen immer am Werk-
stück anliegt. Die Sägekette kann sich
sonst verhaken und zum Verlust der
Kontrolle über die Nexxsaw führen.
