BODUM AUSTRALIA WARRANTY
We are pleased to say that the return rate on BODUM® product is very low; however, should you
need to process a returned BODUM® product under warranty, please follow the simple procedure
below. We have tried to make it as simple as possible for both yourself and the end consumer.
BODUM® AUSTRALIA WARRANTY PROCEDURE
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Consumers are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for
any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Consumers are also entitled to have the goods
repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount
to a major failure.
The beneits to BODUM® customers given by the warranty set out below are in addition to other
rights and remedies under a law in relation to the BODUM® product to which the warranty relates.
To process a faulty BODUM® product you will require a Return Authorisation (RA) number.
Returned items without a RA number are not able to be processed for credit or replacement.
Contact BODUM® on [phone] for a RA number.
Faulty product does not include items which have incurred wear and tear through general home
use, misuse or commercial use. Warranty does not include accidental glass breakages.
WARRANTY PERIOD:
 •eBODUM®: 2 year replacement warranty from the date of purchase for electrical appliances
where a defect appears and BODUM® is notiied within 2 years from date of purchase.
Proof of purchase: any claim from the end consumer must be validated with a copy of proof of
purchase; without providing a proof of purchase BODUM® Australia will not be able to process
the claim. Proof of purchase includes original purchase receipt/docket or credit card statement
showing the purchase amount.
Replacement or credit: once claim is validated, if possible please replace the faulty item from
stock on hand. If a customer requires a replacement for an item which you don’t have on hand,
please have the item added to your next order.
Return or work order: to ensure that the return process is as easy as possible for both you and the
end consumer, we don’t do work orders or product repairs.
Once you have received a RA number and sighted the product please safely dispose of the faulty
item. We don’t require the faulty product to be sent back to us. However, if you come across an
unusual fault which you think we need to be aware of please send it back to BODUM® Australia
Head Oice.

This device is designed for indoor household use only. Do not
use it outdoors.
Do not plce the device on or next to  turned on gs or electri-

Do not touch the surfces of the device while it is in opertion.
These surfces will be extremely hot while the device is in use.

Turn the temperture control to setting «I» nd unplug the
device from mins to turn o the device.
Pull the plug, not the cord in order to unplug the device.
Mke sure tht the cord does not hng down over the edge of
 tble or work surfce nd do not llow it to come into contct
with hot surfces.
Do not use electricl devices under ny circumstnces if their
cords or plugs re dmged or fter improper functioning hs
been detected or if the pplince hs been dmged in ny
wy. In this cse, plese bring your pplince to the nerest
mnufcturer uthorized service loction for inspection, repir
or proper set-up.
Do not ever ttempt to replce the power cord of this device
yourself, s specil tools re required to perform this kind of
work. Hve the repir or replcement performed exclusively by
 service loction uthorized by the mnufcturer so tht the
sfe opertion of the device will be wrrnted.

FOR USA AND CANADA MARKET ONLY If children or individuls
who re not fmilir with the device should use it, strict supervi-
sion is mndtory.
MAINS PLUG This device hs  polrized plug (one of the con-
tct pins is wider thn the other). In order to reduce the risk of
electricl shock, the plug cn be connected with mins only by
itting the plug correctly into the outlet. If the plug does not it
into your receptble, turn it 180° nd try gin. If it should still
not it, contct  certiied electricin. Do not ttempt to replce
the plug yourself.

THE APPLIANCE
SPECIAL SAFETY
INFORMATION
Alwys plce the device on  stble, level surfce tht is
neither hot nor nywhere ner  het source. The set-up
surfce must be dry. Keep the device nd its power cord out
of children’s rech.
Double-check to mke sure tht the voltge rting on the
identiiction lbel of the device is congruent with the mins
voltge of your speciic region. Plug the device only into 
properly grounded socket with n output rting of t lest 6A
(if you re using  fult protection switch plte (RCD), plese
sk n electricin for dvice). While the device is in opertion,
the socket must be esily ccessible in the event of n emer-
gency. The mnufcturer shll not ssume ny libility for
ccidents resulting from deicient or non-existing grounding.
If the socket should not be comptible with the plug of your
pplince, plese hve the socket replced by  certiied
electricin.
Do not use ny metl prts, knives, forks or similr objects
to plce sndwiches into the toster or to remove them.
This could dmge the nti-stick coting. Alwys use plstic
or wooden spoons/tools.
An extension cord cn be used with this device provided
the pplicble precutions re tken.
If you re plnning to use n extension cord, mke sure
tht the electricl indices of the extension cord re t lest
the sme s those of the device. If the device is grounded,
the extension cord must be three-prong nd grounded.
The longer cord must be positioned in such  mnner tht
it does not hng down over the edge of  tble or of 
work surfce. Also mke sure tht children cnnot pull on
it nd tht it does not crete  stumbling/tripping hzrd
unintentionlly.
Before its irst use, mke sure you clen the device. See
chpter MAINTENANCE AND CARE.
Distribute some cooking oil over the tosting surfces. Allow
the device to het up in setting «5» for 5 minutes while it is
empty nd the cover is open. Next, turn the temperture con-
trol down to setting «I», unplug it nd wit until the pplince
hs cooled down.

1 – Preheting
Before you connect the device to mins, mke certin tht
the pplince is closed nd tht the temperture control (2)
is in position «I».
Now plce the device upright on its feet (7) nd connect it
to mins. The red lmp (4) will illuminte. Turn the temper-
ture control to the desired setting. Then the green lmp (3)
will switch on.
As soon s the temperture control hs reched the preset
temperture, the green lmp (3) will switch o.
2 – Plcing food into the sndwich toster
All ingredients used must be redy to et!
Do not use ny uncooked met or other rw ingredients
tht require prior preprtion so tht they re sfe to et.
The sndwich toster does not cook or ser food.
We recommend tht you hve your sndwich ingredients
redy for plcement into the toster prior to or during the
wrm-up phse.
To mke 2 sndwiches, you will need 4slices of tost – the
best sizes re medium to lrge slices.
To give your sndwiches  golden brown ppernce nd
crispiness, spred butter or mrgrine on one side of ech
slice.
With the buttered side fcing down, plce  slice of bred on
 plte nd dd the desired ingredients. Mke sure you do not
plce n excessive mount of toppings on the slice to prevent
the ingredients from being squeeze out of the sndwich during
the tosting process. We recommend you leve bout  5mm
frme of uncovered bred round the edges of ech slice.
Plce  second slice of bred with the buttered end fcing
up on the slice tht hs the toppings on it.
As soon s the green lmp (3) switch o, plce the prepred
You my detect  slight odor in the ir when the device is
heting up the irst time. This is  norml occurrence when
the components re heted up for the irst time.
The pplince is not to be operted in the open position.

CORD STORAGE Before you put your pplince wy for storge, lwys roll
up the cord (8) inside the cord storge comprtment (11).

gles of the tosting surfces. Wrning: the tosting surfces
will be extremely hot t this point!
Now cutiously close the cover (6), press the hndles (5)
together nd lock the device with the closure (1).
Allow the bred to tost for  few minutes depending on
the temperture setting you hve chosen nd how crispy you
wnt your sndwich to be.
Once the sndwich hs been in the toster for the desired
mount of time nd meets your expecttions, open the clo-
sure (1) nd cover (6). Exercise cution when removing your
sndwich. Wrning: the tosting surfces re still very hot!
Once your sndwiches hve been prepred nd you no lon-
ger need the pplince, turn the temperture control to «I»
nd unplug the device.
Wit until the device hs cooled down completely nd
lwys unplug the device before you clen it nd store it.

Ingredients (for 1 sndwich)
– 2 slices of tost
– 1 or 2 slices of cheese
– 1 or 2 slices of boiled hm
Hwiin style sndwich
Ingredients (for 1 sndwich)
– 2 slices of tost
– 1 or 2 slices of cheese
– 1 or 2 slices of boiled hm
– 1 slice or severl cubes
of cnned pinepple
TIP: Be cretive with the ingredients for the illing – simply
use whtever you hve on hnd or like best. You cn use
for instnce slmi insted of the hm or tomtoes (seeds
nd juice removed). Try dierent options nd discover your
fvorites by being dventurous.
Importnt: Do not overill your sndwich, s this my cuse
the ingredients to spill out of the Sndwich Toster’s sides.
Do not use liquid/runny illings of ny kind, s liquids re not
suitble for tosting (i.e. mustrd, myonnise, relish, etc.).

CLEANING
THE HOUSING
AND TOASTING
SURFACES
Never use ny hrsh scrubbing cleners, scrpers, metl
covered sponges, steel wool or sop steel wool sponges to
clen the tosting surfces or the device housing.
Use only  moist rg to wipe the housing nd toster surfces
clen. If tough residue should keep sticking to the toster
surfces, plce some food grde oil on  pper towel nd
remove the food with it.
Never immerse the housing, plug nd cord into wter –
the Sndwich Toster is n electricl device!
STORAGE The cord should lwys be rolled up inside the cord comprt-
ment (11).
Mke sure your device lwys sits upright on its feet (7) while
it is being stored.
Importnt: Alwys unplug the device when it is not in use.
Alwys wit until the device hs cooled down completely
before you clen it.
Before you strt clening the pplince, mke sure it is no
longer connected to mins.
Any other servicing should be performed by n uthorized
service representtive.

Pltzieren Sie ds Gert immer uf einer stbilen, ebenen
Oberlche, die weder heiß ist noch in der Nhe einer Wr-
mequelle liegt. Hlten Sie ds Gert und ds Stromkbel
von Kindern fern.
Vergewissern Sie sich sorgfltig, dss die Nennspnnung uf
dem Typenschild der Netzspnnung Ihrer Region entspricht.
Stecken Sie den Stecker in eine ordnungsgemß geerdete
Steckdose mit einer Ausgngsleistung von mindestens 6A
(wenn Sie eine Fehlerstromschutzschlterpltte (RCD) ver-
wenden, lssen Sie sich von einem Elektriker berten). Die
Steckdose muss whrend des Betriebs des Gerts im Notfll
leicht zugnglich sein. Der Hersteller übernimmt keine Hf-
tung für Unflle ufgrund einer defekten oder nicht vorhnde-
nen Erdung.
Sollte die Steckdose nicht mit dem Stecker Ihres Elektroge-
rts komptibel sein, lssen Sie die Steckdose durch einen
zugelssenen Elektriker uswechseln.

Wenn ds Gert erstmlig uheizt, werden Sie eventuell einen
leichten Geruch in der Luft feststellen. Dies ist norml, wenn
die Gertekomponenten zum ersten Ml ufgeheizt werden.

1 – Vorheizen
Vergewissern Sie sich, dss ds Gert geschlossen und
der Temperturregler (2) uf die Position „I“ gestellt ist, bevor
Sie es n eine Steckdose nschließen.
Stellen Sie ds Gert ufrecht uf die Füße (7) und schließen
Sie es n die Steckdose n. Die rote Lmpe (4) leuchtet. Stel-
len Sie den Temperturregler uf die gewünschte Tempertur
ein. Die grüne Lmpe (3) leuchtet uf.
Sobld der Temperturregler die voreingestellte Tempertur
erreicht ht, erlischt die grüne Lmpe (3).
2 – Lebensmittel in den Sndwich-Toster legen
Alle verwendeten Zutten müssen verzehrfertig sein!
Verwenden Sie kein ungegrtes Fleisch und keine nderen
rohen Zutten, die nur nch vorheriger Zubereitung für den
Verzehr geeignet sind. Der Sndwich-Toster knn keine
Lebensmittel kochen oder brten.
Wir empfehlen Ihnen, die Zutten für Ihr Sndwich bereitzule-
gen, bevor oder whrend der Toster uheizt.
Um zwei Sndwiches zuzubereiten, benötigen Sie 4 Scheiben
Tost – m besten mittlere bis große Scheiben.
Dmit Ihre Sndwiches goldbrun und knusprig werden, strei-
chen Sie Butter oder Mrgrine uf eine Seite jeder Scheibe.
Legen Sie eine Brotscheibe mit der gebutterten Seite uf
einen Teller und geben Sie die gewünschten Zutten hinzu.
Geben Sie nicht zu viel Belg uf die Scheibe, dmit dieser
whrend des Tostvorgngs nicht us dem Sndwich her-
usquellen knn. Wir empfehlen Ihnen, einen Rnd von c.
