Buffalo’s USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive with Power Booster offers a
compact light-weight storage solution for any mobile user. You can quickly
access and store backups of files, digital images, documents that will not take
up the room on your PC’s main drive. The Portable HD runs at 5400 rpm and is
available in 40, 80 and 100 GB capacities. The included Bus Power Booster
provides a reliable source of power for the external hard drive when a reliable
power current is not available. Using the Bus Power Booster reduces the power
consumption of your PC, however it is not required for operation on all
computers but is recommended for guaranteed operation, longevity, and
performance. Auto installation and easy operation makes the Portable
HD a true plug and play storage solution for anybody.

When you connect the
Power Booster (PB) to your
PC, the PC starts charging
the power booster.
The PB charges the power
until the PB saves enough
power to boot up your
portable hard drive safely.
Your portable hard drive
boots up and runs using
the bus power from your
PC and the power from
the power booster.
The Bus Power Booster provides a reliable
source of power for the external hard drive.
Some computers have difficulty providing a
reliable current to the hard drive, resulting in
poor performance, unreliability, or non-
operability. Using the Bus Power Booster
resolves these types of problems. The Bus Power
Booster is a detachable accessory that is not
required for operation on all computers but is
recommended for guaranteed operation,
longevity, and performance.
