Warning!
Regard the following advices to avoid personal injury
or damage to calibrator or equipment under test:
ÎDo not operate the calibrator around explosive gas, vapor, or dust.
ÎDo not apply more than the rated voltage. Refer to specifications
for supported ranges.
ÎNever touch the probe to a voltage source when the test leads are
plugged into the current terminals.
ÎDo not use the calibrator if it is damaged.
ÎInspect the test leads for damaged insulation or exposed metal.
Check test leads continuity.
ÎConnect the common test lead before you connect the live test
lead. Disconnect the live test lead first.
ÎMake sure the process pressure line is shut off and depressurized
before you connect it or disconnect it from the pressure module.
ÎSelect the proper function and range for your measurement.
ÎDisconnect test leads before changing to another measure or
source function.
ÎKeep your fingers behind the finger guards of the probes.
ÎWhen servicing the calibrator, use only specified replacement
parts.

assumes no liability for direct, indirect or incidental damages as well
as consequential or other damages arising from the provision and use
of the present documentation.
DIGISTANT®Model 4423
Automatic Shutoff Function
The 4423 will shutoff automatically if no keys are pressed for an
interval of 30 minutes. That is the factory default.
To change the setting:
¾Press the [MENU] key (F1) followed [MORE] (F3).
¾Repeatedly press the [NEXT] key until the menu bar shows the
option [AUTO OFF].
¾Press the [AUTO OFF] key (F1).
¾Turn the automatic shutdown function on or off.
To do this use the F1 key for [ON] or the F2 key for [OFF].
If the automatic shutoff function is enabled:
¾Use the keypad to insert the new interval in minutes.
¾Confirm the new interval by pressing the ENTER key.
Confirming the interval will finish the setting.
Measuring in Upper Display
¾Press the [MENU] key followed by [UPPER].
After pressing [UPPER] the upper display input type flashs.
¾Repeatedly press F1 [SELECT] until the desired input type is
displayed.
If “PRESSURE” is selected:
¾Press F2 [NEXT].
After doing that the upper displays engineering unit flashs.
¾Select, by pressing F1 [SELECT], the desired engineering unit for
pressure.
¾Confirm the unit by pressing F3 [DONE].
If “VOLTS IN”, “mA IN” or “mA LOOP” is selected:
¾Confirm by pressing F3 [DONE].
Doing this will finish the setting of the upper display.
Measuring and Sourcing in Lower Display
¾Press the [MENU] key followed by the [LOWER] key.
After pressing [LOWER] the lower display input/output type flashs
If the input/output type won’t flash, press F2 [NEXT].
¾Repeatedly press F1 [SELECT] until the desired input/output type
is displayed.
¾Press F2 [NEXT].
Now the input/output control begins to flash.
¾To measure, press F1 [SELECT] until the input/output control
shows “IN”.
¾To source, press F1 [SELECT] until the input/output control
shows “OUT.
Maybe you have to press the key repeatedly.
If “TC”, “RTD, or “PRESSURE” is selected, you have to do some more
settings (such as Cold Junction Compensation). To do that use
F2 [NEXT] and F1 [SELECT].
If all Settings will be done:
¾Confirm by pressing F3 [DONE].
If “IN” is selected the setting is finished.
If “OUT” is selected proceed as follows:
¾Set the cursor to the desired digit of the display.
To do that, use the ◄and ►key.
¾Use the ▲and ▼key to insert the new value.
You are also able to insert this value by using the keypad.
¾Confirm the new value by pressing the “ENTER” key.
¾Press the “HOME” key
After pressing this key the display shows the Home menu.
