ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Make sure you are assembling your fountain on a level surface capable of holding a minimum of 560 pounds
with approximately an 11 square foot footprint.
2. Position the basin (FT-154D) where the fountain is to be installed, ensuring that it is level.
3. Feed the pump cord through the hole in the bottom of the basin, leaving enough cord to pull the pump out of
the pump cover.
4. To ensure a level installation, bring the pump cord out through the channel in the bottom of the basin.
5. See enclosed stopper assembly instructions and complete before continuing.
6. Place the end of the tubing assembly as seen in the diagram on the first page over the pump water outlet and
tighten the hose clamp.
7. Place the pump cover (FT-154B) over the pump while feeding the tubing assembly up through the pump
cover. Ensure that it is centered and level.
8. Place the pump cover door (FT-154C) in the pump access opening of the pump cover.
9. Carefully rest the water feature pedestal (FT-167B) on top of the pump cover allowing access to the tubing
located in the bottom of the water feature.
10. Connect the rest of the tubing assembly as seen in the diagram on the first page
11. Tighten the hose clamps.
12. Place the pedestal into place ensuring that it is level.
13. For best results, connect one end of the 11” length of 1/2” tubing over the off-centered copper pipe protruding
up inside the pedestal and tighten the hose clamp. (Fig C)
14. Place the water cap over the centered copper pipe protruding up inside the pedestal. This piece is required to
make the water flow evenly from the copper spillers. (Fig D)
15. Carefully rest the urn (FT-167A) on top of the water feature pedestal allowing access to the tubing located in
the bottom of the urn.
16. Place the open end of the tubing over the centered copper pipe protruding down from the urn. (Fig E)
17. Place the urn into place ensuring that it is level.
18. Place copper couplings over each of the copper pipes inside the urn.
19. Place the 3 ½” copper pipe into the coupling in the center of the urn. This is the water action in the urn.
20. Place the 2 ½” copper pipe into the off-centered coupling in the urn. This is the water return for the urn.
21. Place the copper elbow over the 2 ½” copper tube.
22. Fill the basin with approximately 15 gallons of water.
a. NOTE: Do not run fountain without sufficient water. If the pump is allowed to run dry, it can damage
the pump.
WINTER CARE AND GENERAL FOUNTAIN INSTRUCTIONS
-W I N T E R C A R E -
Fountain bowls/tops and other fountain components, which collect water, should not be left outside in the winter since
any component, which fills with water and freezes may crack. Likewise components such as pedestals, which remain
in a basin, filled with water, which then freezes, may also crack or crumble. Ideally, therefore, a fountain should always
be stored indoors or in a dry protected place such as a covered porch away from the elements. However, if a fountain
must be left outside:
(1) Remove pump, rubber stoppers, drainpipes, finials, and other small components for storage indoors. Note
that stoppers or drainpipes are removed to allow drainage in the event water accumulates in any basin. Compression
stoppers may be left on the pump cord for easier assembly next season.
(2) Raise fountain base from ground with wood strips so that base will not freeze to the ground surface.
(3) Cover or wrap the fountain with burlap or other absorbent material (old blanket or towel) and then cover
securely with plastic, making sure that water will not accumulate in the basin or other fountain component and freeze;
(4) Check fountain periodically to insure that plastic is secure and water is not accumulating in any fountain
component. -G E N E R A L F O U N T A I N T I P S -
Install fountains on a level surface. You will need a properly grounded 110-volt (AC only) GFCI protected receptacle
near the fountain for your pump. All pumps are submersible and must be completely underwater to function properly.
Test all pumps and adjust to full output prior to assembly. It is not recommended that fountains be placed directly on
grass or dirt. Position the channel opening at the base of each fountain toward the electrical outlet to be used since the
pump cord will be threaded through this opening.
